Please ensure you are complying with Australian law regarding GST and are not encouraging Australian consumers to avoid their tax obligations.

If you are a consumer (not a GST registered business) and you buy imported services, digital products and low value imported goods, the price may include goods and services tax (GST).

    GST doesn't apply:
    - when overseas suppliers and electronic distribution platform (EDP) operators don't reach the A$75,000 GST registration turnover threshold
    - to goods that are GST-free, such as food items.

tax obligations? like NewsCorp? Santos? Chevron ? or the 31% of large companies operating in Australia that paid no tax?

      https://www.qut.edu.au/news/realfocus/31-of-companies-are-no…

      • -1

Yes. When any of those companies comes onto Ozbargain and encourages or provides advice how to "avoid paying" tax be sure to tag me so I can post a similar comment.

  • "Lifetime Plan"
What could possibly go wrong! 😂

  • +5

I have an old lifetime sub with them from a long time ago (Stacksocial 1 device limit)
In summary i guess its you get what you pay for

    The good point:
    The license is still valid/working

    The bad point:
The Australian server is unreliable, You get connectivity issues once connected to the VPN (unable to connect site) and the speed is generally really slow which is ironic give their name(<1Mbps on cloudflare speed test). Workaround is to connect to non-australian server to fix the connectivity issue but the speed on that is not great as well although its somewhat usable i guess for lite browsing.

Occasionally you get a very good experience (no connectivity issue and the VPN speed is great ~95% of my NBN250 plan) but i think majority of the days you will get a bad experience with them.

  • I purchased FastestVPN from this deal back in 2021 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/637189

I just realized now that my logins are 10 when they should be 15, and I also cant use the wireguard protocol. Is this normal?

    Thanks.

    • Hi,

Please contact our support team. They will fix the Wireguard issue.

  • You got Kazakhstan?

  • Lifetime equals 10 years. I checked. They used to be awesome. Their service is bare basic. It’s doesn’t work sometimes and they get you to downshift to a lower security option.

  • FastestVPN.
Fastest at going out of business once we get enough lifetime subscriptions to move to the Bahamas.

    • I have been using it for a number of years and it has been improving from year to year. There are occasional bugs but I guess all VPNs have them.

  • Anyone have any luck getting YouTube premium from Ukraine or Egypt or other low cost countries?

    • +1

youtube premium via turkey using iOS app store/gift cards, still works - search it on reddit for instructions

  • · Dedicated IP option
    · PortForwarding option

Are these two included in the price? It looks to be an add-on from the website

    • Both these features are listed as "option" in the main listing. They also appear to be payable each 2 years, rather than being included for the "lifetime" of the main plan.

  • What cities are servers in Australia located in?

    • Hi,

We have servers from the city Sydney.

      • Out of two serviers, strangely, most of the times Sydney 1 doesn't work.
It doesn't matter, I guess. But still strange.

They offer similar deals pretty regularly.

I've had it a few years but not used it that much. It's ok. Their apps are pretty basic. They are quite fast, I have a few VPN's these are one of the fastest generally. Double VPN feature is unusual for a VPN this cheap. The only other one I can think of that has that is Proton, there's probably others not at this price point though.

Lifetime deals are not always a scam. Often relatively new companies will use it to get customers and cashflow to build the business and get a name. Sometimes they end up getting really good and the early purchase of a lifetime license is fantastic; Windscribe & Proton come to mind. Sometimes they go broke or never become that good, or screw the customers who bought lifetime by excluding them from new updates, features &/or servers etc. FastestVPN actually did that a couple years ago, but then they reversed it and gave us all the features & servers at no extra cost.

It's a good deal for what it is. Depending what you need the VPN for it's worth it IMO.

  • Hmm. Not sure about this VPN. Speed test results (download):
    + VPN off, 64mbps
    + VPN on, Australia 37mbps
+ VPN on, Turkey 1mbps which isn't good, sites timing out

  • Very slow speeds. Get a cashback plan.

NordVPN > PureVPN > ExpressVPN in my experience (speed wise)

Pure VPN > NordVPN (ping wise)
