  • Can anyone confirm whether IOS device does actually change the UDID with a factory reset - tried it on a old Ipad Mini running IOS 12, and it did not change. There is conflicting info on the internet whether it can or cannot.

I seem to be unlucky, i did get the G09 error the other day when I bought a new iphone and tried to login. Previously i would use my Ipad Mini to lock the price using ifake location, and then use my Android phone with 7/11 app to get the petrol and Pay&GO. i probably locked fuel once or twice a month maximum and only sometimes chose interstate locations, depend on price difference. I probably should have used a screen shot of the barcode, but i really liked the Pay&Go feature.

    • You can always record down the device ID, perform a factory reset and compare it again?

      • Grab the UUID from the contact us form within the 7/11 all @theblake

Don't.. send the actual email though
Or you can change the destination email (delete the support one) and send back to your own email to compare before and after

        • there are easier ways to grab UDID from IOS, on a Mac its displayed in System Information/USB, or the Backup folder name.

          • @theblake:

there are easier ways to grab UDID from IOS, on a Mac its displayed in System Information/USB, or the Backup folder name.

For Android, Device ID is no longer universal across apps. I don't use iOS, I operate a fleet of Android choppers.
Since the 7/11 Contact Us form reports exactly what would be sent to 7/11 during the fuel lock request, that would be the most ideal source to verify it against.

      • thanks - how do you think i know that the UDID did not change. My question is, has anyone successfully changed their iphone/ipad UDID after a factory reset.

    • I recreated account after it got banned. Same apple device same device ID. A week after it got banned, that was for interstate lock.

Created another account, no issue so far. Just locking greater Sydney region. It’s been 4 weeks and no issue.

      • good points - i generally made sure that if i ever grabbed a interstate lock, i dont use it for a few days. But unless they are being really ruthless that might not trigger their reporting. If i ever needed an urgent lock, i generally grabbed one within 100kms or so.

you guys may know that smali patcher is not workin in Android 12. As i recently rooted my note 10 the 7/11 app was giving error "your location is not true". And i tried 100s hours to test combination of different roms, magisk versions and module to finally understand that its not working with android 12.

Finally got a way around for fake location for Android 12. Smali patcher installed and wanted to use fake location but the app always detected that my location is not true. So I downloaded "hide mock location" module from Lsposed. And selected the 7/11app in hide mock location. And now I can set any location using fake location and the app is working like charm.

    • +1

Yes. My Android Studio guide (link at top of page) uses this method and should work on any rooted phone. The smali patch method is convoluted and outdated IMHO.

    • Thank you for this. Been spending hours trying to understand why the Smali patcher didn't work. Confirming your method works on my rooted pixel. 👍

  • Been kicked off all my accounts and all devices (Android + iPhone) today. Can't sign back in either. Praying it's just a server issue…

    • Used the app to buy a coffee at 08:00 this morning and made a fuel lock around 10 minutes ago, no issues with being logged out.

      • +2

Just got fixed, able to log back in now! Just a short little server issue.

        • Nice.

  • Asking me for a mobile phone to log in and verify my account, have been using this account for years with no issue, anyone else getting the same?

    • All good here.

Did you recently change devices or were you suddenly logged out ?

      • +1

Not having any issues here either, but just wanted to note that, annoyingly, every now and then I am suddenly logged out for no known reason. Just need to log back in but it's a tad annoying.

Not sure if it's because of autoupdate to the app or some other reason.

    • Not really, easy to get the chopper back in the air

  • +3

App isn't working on iOS but can still sign in on my android. Getting an "Uh uh! That didn't work quite as planned. There seems to be an error completing your sign in. View our FAQs for some help." And if I sign in I get an "Oops no connection!…" error. Any ideas why this may be the case?

    • +1

      Same here on iOS.

    • Same here. iOS. Been trying for more than an hour. Need to fill up the tank!

      • same for both ios and andriod. tried deleting and reinstalling and no difference

        • Its working now.

    • I called customer service to find out what is going on - definitely an issue with the app. The 7-eleven guy couldn't access the app on his device either.

    • have the same issue

    • Still not working even though I am using my original location…

  • I haven't been banned yet
I have been doing the following:
1 iphone with ifakelocation locking any petrol station but waiting a few hours before redeeming
I also share this account logged in on another iphone.
I probably will switch to having one phone and a screenshot of the 711 barcode on the other phone

    • +1

I use an ipad specifically for location locking and use my Android phone to redeem on the next few days so it looks like I'm asking another person to lock it for me

      • So did you get G09'ed?

  • Anyone getting an image mounting error using ifixlocation in the last 2 days?

I locked in a few days ago but now I can't. The site did download new images this time. Maybe bad image download from somewhere?

  • My God!!

7/11 is going all out to ban the helicopters!!

  • +1

I had an 7-11 account that survived the initially survived the account banning .

I would look for the cheapest fuel on my journey to anywhere .

I had locked Diesel on the way to Brisbane @ Eight Miles Plain on Saturday morning and Fuel up as soon as I got to Brisbane.

On Sunday , I locked in fuel for unleaded on Sunday locally as it was cheapest in my area and my account had logged out when I went to use the bar code and I logged back in and got the bar code so managed to used to fuel lock and then immediately got kicked out . When I tried to log in , I got the dreaded G09 error.

I was like WTF. No Heli had been used.

I have a feeling that 7-11 are purposely putting the cheapest fuel alot cheaper than the rest around the area to catch out Heli users.

For example Diesel in QLD the cheapest is Tingalpa at 178.90 but in the South East QLD the next cheapest price is 187.90 . I think 7-11 is creating bait by having random cheap 7-11 because shouldn't all the 7-11 in an area sort of be about the same price.

Has anyone had any luck with complaining to 7-11 when you are doing the right thing?

    • +4

Create a new account, move on.

  • We recently just had all 5 accounts on an iPad blocked with a G09 error about 1.5 weeks ago.

So I went ahead and created a new account for myself on my android phone. Only I've used the new account to lock in a local price, used it once last weekend on Sunday and now I've been locked out of the account again with the same G09 error. I haven't even used it on the potentially blacklisted iPad device due to what everyone is saying my be a device ID issue.

Everyone else who also had their account locked have also since created a new account. So far no one has actually used their app to redeem any fuel, 3 ppl just did a price lock with the iPad but have since been locked out of the new account without use.

And the final person has created a whole new account also on their android phone, haven't even used or touched the account since opening it, and the account has been locked also.

Anyone else experience such a phenomenon?

    • +1

I just had that happen to me for a newly created account

    • +2

I got g09 and made 3 new accounts. One banned without even being used and the other 2 both have been use to lock fuel and redeem a couple of times without chopper.

Have since started filling up in non 7-Eleven fuel stations as they are typically cheaper when not using the chopper

  • just in the process of buying a new chopper…should I use the account with velocity or use a different account for this chopper? How often do pilots lose their license?

    • +6

I'd advise de-linking your Velocity account and just using your FF number/velocity card separately. If the 7/11 account linked to your Velocity account ever gets G09'd there's no way to unlink them.

Depending on the register operator they will either scan your QR code or type your membership number in manually. You'll know it worked if you see a "Velocity Member" line item on your receipt.

      • my 7/11 account linked to velocity just got banned after years of using it. do you know if i can still manually scan my velocity card? or it won't work because its linked to a banned account

        • Yes it will work. Same thing happened to me.

  • Cheapest diesel is coming up as Minchinbury at 170.9 in 11-7, however in the 7-11 app Minchinbury is coming up as 181.9

Anyone know what the issue is?

    • Try Yagoona, NSW 2199 or Colyton, NSW 2760

  • All these bans got me scared, delinked velocity. Created seperate velocity for wife and using her acc now. Will pool velocity family and transfer to be safe.

    • +1

Hopefully to do with the pay & go feature?

      • Why hopefully ?

        • i'd rather they focus more on pay & go than trying to ground our choppers

          • -2

            @tdw: I'd rather better offers & rewards.

            • -1

@jv: i'm not optimistic about that. you used to get a free monthly reward for doing at least one survey but i haven't been sent a survey for so long.

              • @tdw: I’ve never seen a survey.

                • @mapax: it was part of a program called "your good call"

                  • @tdw: Never heard of it, was it an invite only program?

                    • +1

@mapax: nope. i got an email a few years ago from them asking people to sign up.

    • Any changes in behaviour after the update?

      • Staff member appeared more courteous this morning.

      • I just noticed the app shows a warning dialog when I took a screenshot of the barcode. It says taking a screenshot may be a violation of their T&Cs.

        • That’s on iOS?

        • +2

Wonder which T&C it is a violation of. They shouldn't have cheaped out on using barcodes if they did not want people to take screenshots of it.

        • +2

"may be"… so even they aren't sure.

i always use screenshots - it's quicker since you're not having to wait for the app to load, which sometimes just hangs there.

          • +1

            @tdw: This is the wording

            Warning
Screenshots with your loyalty card details may violate our Terms and Conditions and may result in permanent account suspension

            • -1

@uggugg: lol not sure how they're going to detect or enforce that, unless they go poking at people's screens when they go to pay for fuel.

              • @tdw:

they go poking at people's screens when they go to pay for fuel.

They don't even look at your screen, you just scan the code on the scanner.

                • @jv: as long as it scans, why should they care if it's a screenshot or not?

              • @tdw: My guess is that since they detected I took a screenshot on my phone, they could mark my account to be suspended.

The person I passed that screenshot onto, used the barcode and received the discount, and I had no issues locking in another price so far.

                • @uggugg:

The person I passed that screenshot onto, used the barcode and received the discount

How would they know who you passed it onto or that the screenshot was used on a different device?

                  • @jv: Sharing/passing screenshot is not against their terms and condition (but to do that one must obtain screenshot first)

But TAKING the screenshot is. they wont care what purpose is the screenshot been taken for, As long as they detect a screenshot has been taken in app, they can say user breached policy.

        • I tried to take a screenshot on an Android device and it won't capture. Shows a "Can't take screenshot due to security policy" flag.

          • @daanish: works fine with iphone, i just tried it.

        • I'm curious if the app actually flags/reports your account if you take a screenshot or if it's just a deterrent to prevent sharing 7-Eleven cards.

          • @helicopter: That would be a bit pointless.

  • +2

I've found storing the the barcode for my account in the Stocard app on my good phone and using an old iPhone that can be used with the 7/11 app as its only purpose works well. the 7/11 app is only being used on the 1 old phone at all times then and my good phone only has the 7/11 barcode in the Stocard app.

    • +3

Stocard is amazing (although I don't use it for 7/11 since I just create more accounts as required..)

If that's the case, perhaps they're banning based on multiple sign-ins with diffferent devices

7/11 is definitely reading this thread though, after someone mentioned the UUID in March 2023 (I knew from Dec 2022 when they started mass banning), mysteriously, UUID is no longer showing up as they've moved the contact us form off a template generated to be sent using your email client and built the form within the app itself.

      • +15

7/11, YOUR COFFEE HAS REALLY GONE DOWNHILL RECENTLY.

        • +2

          Agree.
And a lot of the machines seem to be under filling the cups more than they used to.

          • +5

@mapax: and the cardboard lids make the coffee taste like sawdust

            • +1

@jv: and where has all the choc powder for the cappuccinos gone?

    • Have you had any issues with the register operator not wanting to scan the Stocard barcodes? I might look at doing this.

      • +1

They don't even look, just scan the phone.

      • +1

I've had an operator refuse to scan my barcode after seeing it was a screenshot.. Most just scan without looking though.

        • +2

after seeing it was a screenshot..

          How did they know?

I just did a screenshot and viewed it and it is identical except for the time.

          • @jv: I accidentally touched my phone screen while turning it around for scanning. The guy saw it was a picture in my photo gallery and didn't let me use the fuel lock.

  • Any idea what a f08 error is

  • +1

fyi - for those using amex for points. In news to me, others might have picked up on this earlier, 7-11 now accept amex.

My amex card was accepted at 7-11 yesterday. I had been using a visa or mastercard for the past several years as amex was not previously accepted.
I accidentally tapped the amex card as the wallet was open to that from a previous purchase, and expecting a decline I was pleasantly surprised the transaction request was approved.
