          • +4

@gembel: I chatted in and the rep said gift it is eligible. So I bought one.

            • @Anonymous101: Digital or physical gift card? Pls tell us 😁

            • +2

@Anonymous101: On chat with rep. Their response "Sorry, this offer is not eligible on purchase of e-gift cards."

          • @gembel: Egift card or physical? I got a physical 🤞

            • +1

@John Kimble: umm.. I didn't ask specifically and the rep didn't say it had to be physical. So I just bought digital gift card. I have screenshot saved so I will get back to them if they don't give me that $10 :D

      • Thanks got physical.

  • +1

Is this include gift card purchase?

    • Almost never does

  • Any terms and conditions? Can I buy anything and check out with a MasterCard as long as it's more than $49?

  • +1

    Within 60 days to appear?

    • To redeem the offer, once an Eligible Customer has added $49 or more of eligible items to their cart and finalized their purchase at checkout, the Amazon.com.au Gift Card will automatically be added to your account within 60 days after the promotion ends.

    • +1

At this time of year they have an extended return period; they are waiting for the end of to prevent you buying an item getting the money then returning it

  • Seems like I should be able to buy a $50 gift card to activate the deal.

  • can i buy $50 gift card?

    • Seems unclear! I'm also curious.

    • I want to know too!

  • Pre-orders eligible, do we think?

    • +1

I'd say no as you don't pay for preorders until release.

      • +1

But you don't pay for items until they're shipped in general on Amazon.

  • +21

Aww man Mastercard gets bonuses.. I have a Visa that gets extra fees lol

    • +2

Literally feeling like VISA is gonna go down the drain man VISA is coming up with no offers, whereas Mastercard coming full on to attack VISA via amazon, elevate, CBA, elite club, SB etc. So many more

      • +1

Yeah I don't really use credit cards enough to justify a second but next time it'll be Mastercard

        • only reason i dont Combank CC was because of that Decent Signup $200 CB on only $1000 spend

      • +5

This is because Amazon is actively targeting Visa.

        https://www.paymentsdive.com/news/amazon-takes-visa-battle-t…

    • +1

You can use a debit card.

    • +4

      …for everything else, there's Mastercard.

    • Just get a debit MasterCard?

  • +1

Can you use cashrewards or shopback?

  • 28 degrees shouldn't work right? It didn't work with the Prime deal before.

    • +8

Why not? It's an Australian issued Mastercard.

      • Sorry, i meant it "should" work right?

The 3-month prime promo only worked on certain Mastercard cards. Didn't accept my 28 degrees.

    • I used my 28 degrees and just got an email saying I got the deal.

  • -1

Is this targeted or for first time users or anything like that?

  • +3

Idek how we can tell if we are getting the voucher?

    • exactly

    • Seems like there’s no way of knowing until 7 days later at the earliest

      • yeah I bet the plan is to get a bunch of people to jump onto the deal not knowing they are already not eligible because the 26k limit was reached.

I did it just now, but it's been 9 hours since this was posted. I have no way of knowing if I'm in the 26k. These are things I wouldn't have bought otherwise.

is Amazon gift card considered digital purchase?

    Also maybe stack with this?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/664837

    • +6

Good one, just bought $75 physical gift card which gives $15 off in total (20% off amazon gift card is pretty good!)

    • +13

Thanks for sharing this! I ordered a physical Amazon gift card, and customer support confirmed that they both stack for $15 in total, stating that "$5 will be added as promo code and $10 will be added as gift card.”

      • +1

Thanks heaps! I just did the same. I can see from checkout page "your purchase qualifies you for a $5 promotion credit". However did you see from anywhere that it confirmed you for the $10 bonus gift card? Thx

        • Neither did I, which was why I opened a customer service chat, and they assured me that they bonus gift card would automatically apply for the first 26,000 people spending >$50 using MasterCard

  • What items are eligible for the $49 threshold offer spend?
Eligible items refers to any item purchased on Amazon.com.au (via desktop, mobile browser or the Amazon Shopping App) but excludes digital purchases such as e-books, subscriptions such as Prime video and audible, gift wrapping and postage or delivery rates.

It says digital purchases are excluded, but doesn't give gift cards as an example which is confusing.

    • Could easily argue that a gift card is a digital purchase since it's not like they physically send you anything.

      • That's why i'm hesitant to buy the gift card since Amazon aren't clear on it.

  • +1

Wonder if disposable TransferWise Mastercard is considered an Eligible Australian Issued Mastercard? 🤔

    • I'd like to know as well.

    • +1

It's issued by Cuscal(and Aussie payments company) so I would think it should be fine. I added mine to the account and purchased a gift card so we'll see

  • +4

It may be difficult to tell if you're one of the first 26000 customers to qualify for the $10 gift card when you purchase thing(s) $49 or over.

  • +3

    when did this start?

  • good

  • +1

    Would a debit MasterCard work?

Issue is you don't know, last time apparently I wasn't one of the first 30,000 😬😬😬

  • I would say gift cards ok as it lists a point about their use.
    • All Amazon.com.au Gift Cards are subject to the Amazon.com.au Giftcard Terms & Conditions and Amazon.com.au Gift Card restrictions.

    • +2

That's just T&C for the free $10 one you get from the deal.

  • +1

    Master Debit card eligible?

  • Prefect timing was just placing an order. :)

  • +2

Bought a PS+ 1yr sub, which is eligible based on the T&C's as it's sent as a physical gift card to your address.

    • I’ve just done the same

    • -3

Are you sure? Condition says excludes digital purchases

      • +1

        Read my comment properly…

  • +31

    From Amazon live chat

I understand your concern, this offer is not eligible for digital purchases.

If you order for a physical gift card you will be eligible, but an e-gift card is not eligible.

    • +16

this was too cute to pass up, free $10 :)

Physical Amazon gift card, here we go

    • +3
      • Can it stack?

        • Yes, I was told by customer support that it will

      • Won't stack with the "Spend $39+ on Eligible Products & Receive $10 Promo Credit" because

excludes products sold by third-party sellers on Amazon.com.au (even if fulfilled by Amazon AU), digital purchases such as e-books, subscriptions such as Prime video and audible, gift cards and postage or delivery rates

        • Yet it did. Didn't expect it to, but I posted that after seeing it show up on my Prime page.

Thank you for making your first Prime eligible order and claiming your promo credit. The promo credit has been added to your account and will show up as ‘Prime Credit' at checkout.

The promo credit will be automatically applied to a future Prime eligible order of $39 or more at checkout once your first Prime eligible order dispatches. Look for Prime eligible items marked ‘Prime’, and sold and shipped by ‘Amazon AU’ on the product detail page. The promo credit cannot be used towards purchases from third-party sellers on Amazon.com.au (even if fulfilled by ‘Amazon AU’). The promo credit will show up as 'Prime reward' at checkout. The promo credit expires within 30 days. See full terms and conditions below.

26/11: ordered a physical $75 gift card in a tin right after seeing Munnday's post
27/11: received confirmation email for $10 credit from this promo
29/11: received confirmation email for $10 gift card from the Mastercard promo
5/12: received confirmation email for $5 credit from this promo

        • Thanks for sharing. What time did you order on 26/11? I ordered at 2.30am on 26/11 and still haven’t received the confirmation about the $10. Surely first 26000 wouldn’t have been reached by then..

          • +1

@magster: for me, i made an order on the evening of the 26/11 for the gift card. was charged on the 27th, and card delivered on the 28th. Confirmation email came on 29/11

            • @ironworthy: Thanks! I just did a super quick online chat and the rep applied the $10 credit to my account right away. He said it might be due to technical issues that the credit haven’t applied. I didn’t even have to argue my case. Sounds like people have varying experiences with different reps though.

  • Pre-orders should be okay I guess

  • +4

i bought a physical card so should be ok

  • +8

No way to tell if first 26000 customers or not, would be good if they told you when placing the order whether you will get the bonus voucher or not.

  • Oh FFS, I spent $49 on Mastercard earlier today. Maybe I can cancel and reorder?

Scratch that, I can't cancel and the item is out of stock anyway lol

Any idea when this started? Maybe I'm already eligible.
