  • Is something like this suitable for VR and or casual gaming (mid range performance)?

    • +4

if you don't mind the 3060 mini :)

      • I have no idea about current gen gfx, just trying to decide if I buy an oculus or a sub $1800 VR rig

        • Get decent components to avoid troubleshooting with a box of shitty parts

        • I've got a 1660 Super and VR runs fine with my Oculus Quest 1

Hi Luke any chance we see a 5600x and 3060 ti combo tomorrow?

    • Maybe 3600 and 3060 mini tomorrow on mini price?

  • Can I buy this gpu on its own? I need an affordable mini :(

  • +1

Bump it up to the non mini and you’ve got my money

Ordered. Shipping better be decent Luke! :D. Repeating the 2 month wait would be a tad bit painful.

    • So your last TF order delayed for 2 months?

      • Yea but my last order was at the start of the year.

  • Looking at buying this with a few upgrades but have some questions, firstly will the i5 system with the b560m run at 3200Mhz if I upgrade the ram? Also want to upgrade to the MSI ventus 3060 (2 fan) Will that require a larger case?

My goodness, everyday keeps getting better and cheaper prebuilt deals

  • I was wondering if this config with the i5 with Gigabyte B560M DS3H motherboard have inbuilt wifi

    • Not that one.

  • I want to buy the 5600G one but I don't know how long shipping will be? $58 for standard parcel delivery to Brisbane and $100 for express… how long should standard take?

  • Is this suitable for deep learning?

  • My son wants a gaming computer but I don’t know what I’m looking at. He has saved $1500 so not sure whether to get 3060 mini or help him out for Xmas with some money and get the 3070 for $2k. Would you add need to anything like wifi or cooling. I guess my question to you smart people is if you had a budget of $2kish what would you get?

    • What sort of games and what screen will you use? For an old 1920x1080 monitor a high end machine may be overkill, if using a higher refresh rate or higher resolution screen then the 3060 mini may be less suitable.

      • We got the Dell 27 Inch Gaming Monitor S2721DGF QHD 2560 x 1440 in the Dell deal.
Thanks so much for your help. Seems like i5 3070 for $2k might be the go then. I guess I add wifi? Do I need to add cooling?

As far as games go I think its about keeping option open to what he wants to get into.

        • Great monitor I hear

As an ozbargainer, techfast upgrade prices bug me. The liquid coolers are less effective than a cheaper air cooler upgrade and they charge too much for wifi motherboard upgrades (on the Intel version you can probably add a small internal pci-e wifi card which should perform better than USB wifi). Your son may be eligible for an education version of windows (I'm not up to date on that) but you can always get it with windows installed but without being activated (techfast default) and then purchase a windows key to activate later if education version is not an option.

Another alternative if you're looking for a simple option without blowing the budget is the dell with coupon here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/665769

(Only the 3060Ti version for $1699 after coupon)

The 3060Ti is pretty good for 2560 x 1440 (I have a different 3060Ti on the way myself) but obviously not as fast as the 3070Ti. Comes with wifi and windows activated. Downsides are it will be less upgradeable if that's something you wanted the option to do down the track (can still upgrade ram and add/replace drives), and the cooling is poor (people vary in how big a deal they think this is).

          • @daffyd: Thanks so much. Appreciate the reply. The options are overwhelming. I think he’ll want option to upgrade so we’ll go with the 3070 one. Thanks again

  • Do these just come with the stock Intel/AMD coolers?

    • Yes unless you upgrade

      • Ah ok, that's a bummer.

        • If you're going with the intel, then yes, but stock AMD coolers are fine, perhaps unless overclocking or something.
