a "New refurb" 11th gen Intel?? I doubt it's new.
Still, looks like a pretty good quality package for portability with a decent screen.

  • Tempting, but I think I will stick with the Miix 510 I got from Graysonline all those years ago.

  • +6

Pretty old and crap processor. Not worth the price

    • -1

It's not that bad. 10nm and moved to iris XE.

I would question if it's open box though. These are like what, 7 years old? Crazy that these haven't been clearanced 4 years ago.

Picked up on in the last deal. Unit was brand new, unused, manufacturered in 10/2022, still have a few months of Lenovo warranty left.

        • And how is your feedback on this

          • +1

@CyberMurning: Considering that this replaces a ThinkPad carbon x1 gen 7, I have nothing to complain about. Though to be honest, unless you want to use in tablet mode, the fact that it's not a laptop is a deterrent to when you need to use it on your lap.

        • Battery still hold charge no issue?

          • @kaikor: As much as you could expect from a windows laptop, 3-4 hours, though I haven't really tested extensively being just a week old purchase.

      • +2

the CPU is newer than what you claimed. Please do your homework and don't mislead others

        • -7

          Yes, sorry, it's 5 years.

But I'm not taking the blame for that. It's been very difficult to keep track of what model is what since the rename, for both Intel and AMD.

It simply used to be "we're currently on 16th gen, this was 11th gen.'

    • The CPU is only 3 - 4 years old https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-1130G… . Whilst there are probably much better options these days, it's not bad for a low power chip at this okay-ish price point

    • +2

11th gen processor is a lot less power hungry than 12th and up, leading to better thernals and battery life.

it's a sweet spot and plateau for Intel chips by those metrics.

      • The 12th gen CPU is also crap, doesn't make the 11th gen good

  • $70 cheaper than the previous deal
Ill wait for another 3x deals :) for possible $210 off

  • 12.3 hmm i have surface tablet pro 5 already probably they will be similar thing.

  • +2

1.1kg and TB4 is nice for most travellers

  • Any suggestion for 13.5" - 14" touchscreen, above 10core, 16gb ram, 512gb SSD
    Less than A$1,000

  • How does it compare with this one

    https://www.lenovo.com/au/outlet/en/p/laptops/ideapad/ideapa…

Its out of stock today but I've place an order for $848. I can cancel it if this one is better. I just use it for a media consumption and web surfing

  • With gst refund TRS will that make this an amazingly good deal?

  • This looks so good! I wonder if they are still selling detachables with more recent updates.

  • +1

Surface are brilliant but damn they are expensive now. Let's see how this goes. Cheers

  • match-on-chip (unconfirmed if included)
    What is this?

  • -2

400nits is as about as bright as my router lights

    • +1

Oh please… 400nits is very much acceptable. And let me guess only being Full HD makes your eyes burn?

  • How do they open so many box's

    • +1

Well, on the page it said 'As New - Refurb_A+' so it might be pot of luck what you gonna get.

      • Ohh ok thanks 😊

  • Would I be able to play CS2 on this? I know it'll run the game spec-wise, but the fact that it's a tablet, would it load Steam funny in any way perhaps?

It would be nice to play CS again (last played 1.5!)

    • +1

Yes, though only for short sessions under ~1 hour. The device is more geared towards users who need to present something on the go, to graphic designers at most.

The tablet form is not designed to dissipate heat for prolonged periods of time, and so could cause hardware issues like LCD heat damage or an unresponsive touchscreen.

You can probably alleviate the temperatures somewhat with a cooling pad etc, but note that these do not penetrate the layer between the screen and motherboard where the heat cannot escape easily.

      • A cooling pad would be next to useless, since all of the heat generating components are in the screen portion. The keyboard section doesn't really heat up much.

    • +1

the fact that it's a tablet

It'll be fine, I used to play cs on my surface pro gagahahha
Windows just treats it the same as any other laptop

  • Is this comparable to X1 Carbon except smaller form factor?

  • 256 gigs is ideal for all of win 11 and office

  • Does this do display in? I've been thinking about getting a tablet (Lenovo Tab Extreme / Y900) as a secondary monitor/tablet for work in addition to my laptop. Would this be a good candidate?

  • +1

    https://www.pcworld.com/article/394501/lenovo-thinkpad-x12-d…

This -ve I would avoid buying it: "With the keyboard unfolded, moving the Detachable around the house usually means grabbing the tablet itself…and off pops the keyboard, time and again. Even worse, the tablet doesn’t always electrically reconnect to the keyboard when reattached, meaning that I had to fiddle with it—disconnect, reconnect—until it finally worked"

    • The review is just nit picking. I don't think that any reasonable person expects to be able to grab the device by the magnetically attached keyboard (the lightest part) and expect it to stay on. The attaching keyboard issue seems to be just another one of those annoying windows problems rather than a poor connection.

  • Picked up one at the shop today. It is brand new with 7 months warranty left.
