Linksys E1200 $34 and E2500 Wireless 300mbps N Router $77 Both after $30 Cashback

30

Not as good as Mwave's last deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/65184 although many people got their sale rejected cause of mwaves ridiculous ecommerce system.

anyway, cisco got a cashback promo on the linksys e1200, e1500 & e2500. from their site looks like they don't have the e1500 in stock. they do have the e1200 @ $34 and e2500 @ $74

not a huge bargain and you'll prob be able to find the cash back with other suppliers.

happy bargaining!

  • Thanks for the post. I am in need of similar and have had good experience with MSY (unlike mwave earlier) shopping.

Might have a research between $77 and $68 (TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND) models for suitability with Optus wired cable modem.

  • Asus RT-N13U is a router you should also consider, especially if you're after DD-WRT as it's one of the cheaper routers that support it.

    C-Net Review:

"The bad: The Linksys E2500's range is short and its 2.4GHz-band performance is subpar. The included Cisco Connect >utility provides limited access to the router's features, doesn't work in sync with the Web interface, and >requires a live Internet connection to work."

I've started looking around for a N wireless router, but Linksys seem to have dropped their standards..
Asus or Netgear appear to be the recommended brands.

  • Yes I'll be keeping my distance from Linksys seeing as they're resting on brand rep these days, and their pricing becoming less keen. As for the Asus, while cheap, I believe this would reach up to one third my potential Speedpack 'Mbps', cancelling this out. So then, it is TL-WR1043ND; features Gigabit, is cheap and supports open DD-WRT, and if VoIP performs anything like it does on my Tp-link ADSL router this one should be fine indeed. & Telstra..you're going to soon lose another connection, tired of 2.5mbit.
