This card really should have a 0% international transaction fee, especially since it's being marketed as a travel card.

I think as per the details below, it's 120k points + 30k 2nd year if you use referral instead of this 240k offer
Explorer Credit Card:
Referrer: 40,000-60,000 Reward Points
Referee: 120,000 + (30,000 in 2nd Year) Rewards Points with $3,000 spend in 3 months + $400 travel credit

I've got 180k Qantas Frequent Flyer points but don't have a Kris Flyer account. Can anyone advise the best way to move forward once I get these 240k AMEX points?
Open up a Kris Flyer account & transfer them there.

Hey guys if you have an ato bill to pay and you want to earn full points, use sniip. They charge 1.5% (ato charge 1.45% I believe) and you would earn full points

As expected, the deal is extended to referral links. Might want to highlight in the OP that applicants could consider using the referral links or their partner/friend's referral, as referrer gets 40,000 bonus points.

Got approved straight away, paid for some bills, strata and AirBnB booking to cover the 3K spend.
Converted it today to get the 15% bonus so should have about 140K krisflyer points onto a new account.
What's the best way to spend these points? Flight redemption or upgrades?

Got the 240k bonus points after meeting the spend requirements 2 days ago. Included a Sniip payment so confirming that is eligible. Nice and easy.
Don't forget to apply for 4 supp cards for an additional 20k bonus points.
I added 2 additional card holders at the time of application, not sure if I will get the bonus points for that

29/10 - transactions still pending.
30/10 - transactions posted, points received.
Did you get gift cards ? I have completed 3k but reward points for the gift card purchase and no bonus 240k reward points yet.

Sometimes they ask for ID, sometimes they don't.
Did you wait for the card to arrive then apply for sup card or did you applied for sup card at the same time when applying for the Explorer card?

Seems like all 'Explorer' referral links are now giving the same deal until 2nd December, with an added bonus of 50k points for the referrer.
So basically we need to spend $3000-$395 = $2605 to get the points in the first 3 months ?
Pretty sure it’s $3395 as your annual fee won’t count
Just got my 240k points instantly after meeting minimum spend. Just did KrisFlyer transfer.
Was recently rejected for the ANZ black but got approved for this one the next day. Both of my friends also applied, but cancelled their first application to reapply using a referral link in which both applications got rejected…. any idea why this is? They have same if not higher income with no mortgage. (I have a mortgage + 6k existing CC)

Got my card recently and put a transaction for $2000. Can anyone please confirm if purchasing Woolworths gift cards for the remaining $1000 will count towards spend to qualify for the points.
Btw already received the typical AMEX reaction from vendors who wanted me to use a different card.
So clearly I need to have a backup card just in case. Also RACV rejected the card. Oh well !

Looking at flights on Virgin, seems as though 120,000 Velocity points (when transferred from 240,000 AMEX) won’t even get you one way economy to Europe. Am I missing something here?

For those who transferred the points over to KrisFlyer - how long does the transfer take?
I am unsure if I transfer this weekend I will meet the deadline of 22nd Nov for the 15% bonus.
If its the case I might wait for the next 15% bonus promo for KrisFlyer.
Probably varies by bank. Citibank took 2 days to show up but the transfer date was backdated to when the transfer was made.

I had the explorer card 2 years ago without any issues and I was on a lower income at that time! Very bizzare!! Anyway just a word of caution..

I was declined too. But it turned out to be an administrative thing. I created two applications, due to referral link not working first time.

The deal is still advertised, although the T&C's say it is eligible for those "who apply online by 30 November 2021".
Not sure as it states in the first point:
"To save time before applying for your Explorer® Credit Card, make sure you can say ‘yes’ to the following:
- Have an annual income of $65,000 or more"
