    watched a video by that coffee dude james hoffman about how the vertuo system works, apparently its not real crema but just aerated coffee. You get similar results by putting coffee in a blender

    The pods are larger and produce a stronger shot and closer to what you expect from a real espresso machine. It also produces (fake) crema which is the coffee foam. So it produces better coffee than the standard Nespresso machine HOWEVER these pods are only available through Nespresso, there are no other brands and hence it is more pricey (even reusables on aliexpress are expensive)

    So for better coffee, get a budget espresso machine or even an aeropress
    For cheaper and easy coffee, get a standard Nespresso machine
    For middle ground coffee and ease at a higher cost then this one

      I agree that the pods are less available which I also find mildly annoying given how many grocery stores just carry the original line pods.

      However, I would say this is mitigated by delivery being free if you have a subscription, the cheapest of which is $50($55 credit) for two months which is plenty for a single person who drinks a cup a day. If you have the machine, you've already locked into buying capsules so you might as well get a subscription.

      If you're contemplating buying one of these machines, I recommend going to a Nespresso store and trying coffees from both the vertuo and original line so you can decide which one you prefer.

    Nope, Vertuo models don't support classing pods you need to buy vertuo one's, which at the moment we can only buy from Nespresso.
