Awesome deal. Got one thank you. I bought 7" and then I changed my order to 10".

10" seems satisfy my need more and has 1024 x 768 resolution(not HD though). =)

    • +1

I wouldn't be too quick purchasing it, the reviews for the 10" tablet is fairly poor:
      http://tech2.in.com/reviews/tablets/msi-windpad-enjoy-10-rev…

      • I believe those reviews are based on the higher price. When you pay this tablet for $300 and comparing it to asus transformer. Of course this will make windpad like shit. When this come to 50% off, I will give it a shoot since I only use it for normal usage like reading book, simple application etc.

        • +1

Can you change the deal to include the other 2 MSI products at 50% off?

        • If you bought it and want to change your order, call 1800 251 311 and they will refund you the money, then you can make another purchase.

10" seems satisfy my need more…

      that's what she said.

  • Blonde moment - Could I stick my Telstra 3G modem into this tablet?

    • prob not - first off, its a mini-usb port, not full sized. Also, not sure if you would need USB OTG to do this.

      • Could I bluetooth it to my laptop and use the modem that way?

        • what you could do is;
          1. connect the modem to your laptop and connect to Telstra
          2. bridge your wifi with your nextg modem (unconfirmed)
          3. connect via ad-hoc network (laptop as adhoc or access point) and share internet.

      • Also, Not sure if there are Android drivers for the modem available yet

Tempted, this could be the next street tab after mytab lol. Steady upgrade.

Wonder if Win8 would work on these :/

        • +1

I already watched and ordered :)

Good little unit and similar (not the same of course) to the Acer Iconia :)

I was looking for a good starting tablet :D so im happy with a good 50% off option :)

        • yeah. It's 50% off. a good starting tablet for me too. LOL

        • That's a completely different model. This has an ARM processor so in theory it could work but that model has a different processor.

      • So close to buying then discovered AMD z01 is clock @ 1ghz dual core, just a bit to low for my tastes (when running windows)

        • Runs ok… FOr the Tablets as welll most are around the 1GHz marker… (Its good enough for the price when compared to the Iconia :) )

For me its a good 1st tablet for Windows 8 testing :)

If anyone has a good source to get the Dock for this or something similar :) keen to hear it..

Does anyone know how Skype preforms on this?
I'm getting conflicting results on Google.

    • The specs are better than my phone and it runs just fine on that (700mhz ARM CPU) so you should be fine.

      • -6

Thanks for the reply but that not really what I asked. I'm looking for someone that KNOWS if Skype will run properly. I've read plenty of comments about how this thing doesn't, does without video and does run. I'm trying to find out for sure, not guesses.
As for the specs thing, it doesn't really make much of a difference. My lower spec tablet runs Skype fine where the higher spec ones at work don't at all. It comes down to the individual device.

  • +2

    Resistive OR Capacitive ?

    • -2

      read the website? lol lazy..

  • ferk i want one

  • The screen resolution is… meh. But the price is irresistable!

Does Ice Cream Sandwich work on these tablets? Hopefully somebody is cooking up a Rom for it.

Note: the reviews for the 10" tablet isn't exactly glowing.. Probably give it a miss and get the Ainol Aurora tablet instead.

    • That review is based on Euro $300(AUD$369). Now we are talking about Euro $150 (AUD$175). It's 50% off.

    • That's what's stopping me from jumping on it like the mytab (existing working Roms) and HP Touch (progress made on Android port)

Was not able to find a half decent Rom for it, if any at all.

Doesn't seem to be a way to root it either. Read on XDA that the usual z4root, gingerbreak doesn't work,
and since MSI doesn't give the usb driver, can't root using superoneclick.

PS: For all I know, Rom development for the device will flourish with the increase in user base after this sale, but at this stage, it's close to zero.

Wait for the Asus Memo to be released very soon for $250
      http://m.cnet.com/ces2012/Article.rbml?nid=57355665&cid=null…

      • Thats $250 in USA when it releases. If it makes it to Australian shores, it will probably be a good $350, unless you want to import from the USA and have no local warranty (unless Asus offer international warranty?).

  • can i pick it up in store for the same price?

    • Only available online

  • +4

Just read this "Note that it does not have Google Market access."

    http://www.umpcportal.com/products/MSI/WindPad%20Enjoy%207/

Edit: someone said there is access to Google Market. Anyway, has bought one, will figure it out later:-)

    • Why would a manufacturer produce an Android 2.3 tablet with no Google Market access?
I'm going to return mine if there is no way to install it.

      • +1

From my understanding Android is open source (read: "free") but the the Google Apps (GAPPS) aren't. Essentially a manufacturer will need to pay (per unit produced?) to have access to the Android Market, Maps, Gmail, etc. Can anyone confirm that?
So you can easily pick out the cheap arse manufacturers/tablets if they don't include GAPPS. Unless you can flash the market on to a tablet and get root access easily I'd be disinclined to touch it with a barge pole!

        • Just received my 10" one and can confirm Android market is already on it. Yay!

    • +1

There is a Vending.apk file inside the firmware file I'm poking around in so it must be there!

Ah the old Ozbargain dilemma, want but don't need…

      That's it… I'm not quite sure why I bought one… But I did :)
I saw the 50% off sign, and like a moth to light… It's on my credit card…

      just buy it!

    • +8

Bought one… I hate you all

I have to think about this one.

    But good buy tho,

  • +4

Windpad… haha.. sounds like something an old person would put in the back of their trousers..

    • This is what I came here looking for - shart jokes! :D

  • now which one is the best value for money from those 3 model?

edit: eventually, I ended up with the windows 7 model. might good for windows 8 upgrade in future i guess

  • just bought this, looks to be good, and with bigW, if you dont like it, just return it to any bigW store for a refund.

    • Can you do that with online purchases?

      • Not if it's "online only" when you buy it.

        • +3

my co worker bought the pioneer dreambook that was here for $50 bucks, that was online only, he hated it, and went to his local big w and they refunded him his money. Worst case, just kick up a stink, they should refund it.

    • You don't get back the delivery fee though.

      • +3

        delivery is FREE.

        • +3

          welcome to the joke.

        • lol..real cute..cutebirdy

  • A lot of video reviews have the tablet with windows 7. Do you reckon it will be possible to change the OS from android to 7? (Or is it a completly different model tablet?)

    • I think you should just buy the WIndows 7 one to save the issues

    • +2

      EDITED for clarity:
There are a number of MSI tablets for sale at BigW as mentioned in other posts above.
The $350 windows Tablet (http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics/computers-office/ipad-tab…) has an x86 AMD processor and a 32Gb SSD.
The 7" and 10" Android versions have an ARM CPU and 4Gb NAND Chip.
      So completely different hardware…
Windows doesn't run on ARM yet, so no, you can't install windows to the ARM tablets and probably wont be able to in the future either.
The Windows Tablet is kinda tempting especially with Windows 8 Consumer Preview out!

      • Windows 8 DOES add support for ARM processor architecture.

        • +1

Correct, but for Dual Cores or higher as I understand it
Plus the bootloader on the ARM versions is locked and noone has managed/tried to unlock it yet, so even if it could run Win8 ARM, you couldn't install it!

    • _comment moved

  • If this thing doesn't run Windows why does it have such an awful name? :)

    Can it run Windows?

    • These comments are talking about the Windpad 110W which is a tablet that uses AMD Brazos procesor.

      Loopylou says:

If this thing doesn't run Windows why does it have such an awful name? :

This is not the Windpad 110w — I have no idea what the model name or designation for this is.

      • I think it's called the "Enjoy 7" and the 10inch one is the "Enjoy 10" but I'd recommend confirming that.

        • +3

I'm not buying anything called "Enjoy 7 inches".

And before you ask; no: I'm not buying anything called "Enjoy 10 inches" either.

  • SOO tempting, Especially AMD 6250 on the tablet. Ill wait for Windows 8.

  • -2

Does anyone know hows is their battery life?

    • -2

      Google it yourself!

    • A few reviews I just read stated that they got between 7 and 9 hours on wifi browsing and a few games. I can't remember what video playback was but it was high.

  • Great price. Just bought the 10" one.
Should really add the other discounted ones to the deal so people know they have a choice which one they want.

  • Anyone know the battery life of the 7"

    Edit: beaten to it

  • +10

    Reviews have put me off.

    Not a true Ozbargainer yet.

    • +1

  • I'm against buying a tablet that is less powerful than my phone.

So I'll give this one a pass.

  • Can anyone please confirm if the $174.50 tablet have an external memory slot?

  • I want to buy one of these, Only problem is i already have a xoom, transformer (with dock) and a 7" galaxy tab :P

    • One more tab wont hurt. I'm thinking of buy a few and use em as intercom in the house lol :D

      • tabs are becoming the new tv's. Need one in every room!

  • so cool.

  • So how is this compared to the HP Touchpad?

  • I think Touchpad is better if you got it for $99

all windpad has no google market access……..

  • -1

Consider the Ainol Novo 7. Has ICS and better specs (IPS screen, 8 or 16GB, 1GB ram, faster CPU). About $50 bucks more than this deal.

    • +9

50 bucks is more then a carton of beer, and after a carton i wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two!

      • Good point!

    • eBay has them for $115 free delivery

      • -2

I wouldn't buy one from ebay, probably get an empty plastic shell with sand inside or something.

    • the ainol novo 7 uses the MIPS processor, so many apps wont work

    • +1

Aargh fat fingers strike again Lol

I ordered the 16gb Ainol Aurora yesterday… Not happy with their brand name laughing out loud
