    UPDATE!!

Windows version (110w) all sold out now

  • +1

I just bought 2 :D Now I have a HP touchpad, Optus mytab, Telstra Tab, LG2x and this :D <3

    • +8

You could pool the money spent on those and get a real tablet? Transformer Prime?!

      • lol they all have their places. HP touchpad for the train as ebook / internet, Optus mytab went to my mum who uses it for online radio / calling places, telstra tab was pretty useless but my dad has that, and the LG2x has been my phone for the last 6 or so months :D I still havnt decided what to do with this new tablet thou :\ Maybe it can replace my HP touchpad?

I cant pass up a good deal! Once a good tablet is on special then maybe…

If the transformer prime was 3g I would jump on that!

    • +3

And still not a good one?

  • What is the different between Capacitive Touch and Capacitive Multi-touch?
Also most website mention that the CPU for 10" is ARM Cortex A8 1.2GHz which one is right?
    Cheers.

    • "Multi-touch"- touch screen can detect more the one finger(or what ever you use to touch) at the same time!
most probably two fingers…. helps in pinch zooming, rotation, etc.
one of the tables can detect 10 fingers at the same time… not sure which brand!!

      • pretty sure i read this one reads 10 fingers

        • Its the acer iconia tab a500 which can read upto 10 fingers but not sure where can i use those !!

  • Excellent deals, got the Windpad 110w and 10" Android Windpad. Also, reading elsewhere it seems the Windpad 110w should feature 4GB, and not 2GB of RAM as indicated on Big W's specs sheet. Hope that's the case.

  • MSI don't even have the Android version on their site. Zero support in the community. Not worth it.

    • +1

2nd this. Can't seem to find info about root, CM7 or even CM9.

Great for those who plan on experimenting on this, otherwise, pay a little more for a better tablet with better community support.

      • Wow, thanks for that. Searched for quite a while earlier and found nothing at all. Will download that and see if anything can be done with it..

        • Interesting. There is a superuser.apk file in the app/ dir.. Pre-rooted?

  • Missed out on the 110W. I failed Ozbargain :(

    • Dont worry, Windows 8 is coming out soon, Windows 7 tablets will get cheaper:)

  • Anyone know if this pad is rootable? (No pun intended)

    • +3

Rootable is slang, not a pun [you filthy bugger;]

P.S. Someone above said it wasn't.

  • Does anyone know if it the 10 inch android one will support a bluetooth keyboard and will it ever be officially upgraded to Android 4.0?

    • It looks very very unlikely.

      • BT Keyboard? Any comments?

  • My HTC desire annoys me due to having insufficient RAM which impacts the ability to install apps.

My Desire has 576Mb, this has 512Mb … would I be right in assuming that it will be equally gimped or does the fact that it's not a phone free up a lot of space?

    • You would be equally gimped.

      • thx

    • Well.. i think it's different..
IMHO, different from mobile phones, on tablet new apps will be installed in internal hard disk (Flash,SSD), while external storage (SD card, etc) is for storing photos, data, movies, etc. RAM is used for operation of operating system and working like pagefile (on PC) which act as a temporary memory for running apps.

Hence, the number of apps will be limited to the internal storage (which is 4GB for this Windpad Enjoy), and the number of other data will be limited to capacity of SD card. However the operating system files will be stored in internal Flash/SSD (4GB), hence the actual space left for new apps will be limited. I once read that the empty space left is about 1.2GB.

      • My Samsung Gal. S2 has 16GB of storage (total) however there are 2 partitions, one of which is labelled "Device memory" - 1.4 GB capacity and the other partition is labelled "Internal USB" storage which is 13GB in size.

When the phone installs apps, it installs it to the "Device memory" partition but for apps where App2Sd is allowed, the application will install it to both Device memory and Internal USB.

I believe for the Windpad, the same deal will apply — you can't use the entire 4GB for application storage.

    • Normally after rooting a droid device there are apps that will let you link to the SD card freeing up internal space but this has none of that so you'd be stuck installing to internal memory unless the app let you move to SD.

    • To syme321, RAM and ROM are different. The issue with HTC Desire is lack of ROM space (probably only around 1GB - and nearly half of it goes to system partition) - so only 576MB for user apps.

This device has 4GB ROM apprently, but it is unclear how much is allocated to user app space (2GB hopefully). The OS, Gingerbread, means the /data partition is fixed. Honeycomb is better, but it appears that Honeycomb OS is not available on this device (hopefully I am wrong on that one).

      • You are talking about Flash memory. I would not call it ROM, as the device is constantly writing to it, like a hard drive.
The 512MB of volatile RAM is plenty for Android 2.3.

        • ROM = Flash ROM. GSMArena uses the term ROM as well. People understand (you do too). Nowadays, ROMs are pretty much flash ROMs. It is easier to understand than flash memory and volatile RAM (randrom access memory).

    dont waste your money

    • Buy Transformer Prime , Trust me Its Amazing !!

  • Interesting, MSI have an official Android ICS (x86) port for WindPad 110w (video):

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Video-MSI-demonstrates-WindPad-…

  • Sufficient for use on a long plane trip to watch movies etc..and entertain the littlie with the wiggles episodes whilst also use at airports to connect with family via skype??

  • Sufficient for use on a long plane trip to watch movies etc..and entertain the littlie with the wiggles episodes whilst also use at airports to connect with family via skype??

    • The 110w battery will only last 3~4 hours. It is only a 2 cell battery.

  • -3

Tempting but I think I'll wait for the iPad 3.

    • +2

      Yeah tough choice!

    • -3

same here. i gave up transormer prime (for now) for ipad3. it will be released in only 2 days.

    • +2

lol hmm 700$ device vs 175$ device :\

      • As an OzBargainer I am tempted by the price, but ultimately I feel that forking out extra for the iPad 3 will be better for me personally.

Why is that so hard to understand?

        • -4

cause they are not true ozbargainers, they are just a bunch of cheap xxxxx.

        • Because the cold hard fact is that if you posited the converse argument in an Apple thread you'd be labelled a troll. Not judging, just saying… ;)

      • +2

Nevertheless, they are both substitutes of each other. One does not simply buy an Android tablet AND an iOS tablet :P.

  • may be samsung galaxy tab 3

  • +2
    • Thanks for the link…..was there an issue with the touchscreen or is the tablet just that bad?

      • if you read the comments on the Video. That never got answered.

  • Can somebody confirm or not if this is SIM Card Capaiblity for 3G?

Big W Website has a picture with "Mutimedia application expandability" an a Sim Card Pictured there?

    Anyone? Cheers.

    • No 3G. You can put upto. 32gb micro sd card in there

Edit. Just saw the picture. Must be a mistake. No 3G

  • What is the exact model number of this unit ?

  • +2

Not a bad deal but there are now so many other tablets on the market that are better in that price range.
7" Ainol Elf in similar price but 1gb RAM + GPU + 1024*600 screen + ICS V4.03 + 8Gb for around $140 delivered. Even better is Ainol aurora that goes for another $20 more which has IPS screen.
I think there is 10" with IPS screen for around $180 on the net.

    • what? what 10" with ips screen, link please? :)

      • Look on sites like Chinagrabber etc to see the list of Chinese-branded ICS tablets.

I think there are brands such as Paladin, Ainol etc.

  • Got one!! No need to fight for the tablet anymore!

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if anyone has the windpad 7" in there possession, can you please PM me the exact model number… i'd like to check that windows8 is or isn't a possibility

    • It isn't. Even on the Windows model it wouldn't run very well.

  • how's this stack up? anyone with experience with this unit?
    http://www.kogan.com.au/shop/8-inch-tablet-pc-android/?utm_m…

    $129 with paypal checkout

    • Do not buy this. Had them before (the 10" model but I assume the 8" is almost the same quality) and ended up selling off ebay the second day. it feels so fragile. it make sound when you touch along the edges. broken speaker sound when maximum volume. I would say MSI is far better quality

    • Very bad build quality — read Whirlpool and you'll see.

  • Can anyone confirm if Android market will be in there? Otherwise how do we install apps?

    • you should be able to download and install app apk's and install them

    • +1

I just received my 10" one and can confirm Android market is definitely on it.

      • That was quick, where are you located?

        • Sydney

  • +2

So, who's received their 7" Enjoy tablet?

Got mine today and testing it out… the performance of the tablet is somewhat sluggish. There's quite a bit of lag when scrolling through web pages and parts the UI.

Viewing angles are OK. Significant upgrade from the Optus Mytab, that's for sure, but its nothing to write home about.

Build quality is fine, the device manages to feel quite solid (and heavy) despite it's low price. The camera is only 2 megapixels (woeful quality) but I don't think anyone cares about camera quality on cheap tablet.

Fairly small internal storage — even though there is 4GB of NAND, 250mb is all that's available for applications.

Quadrant Benchmark pulled off about 1,100 marks. GPU performance is a bit of a let down — the Acer Liquid Metal has better GPU scores.

    • It would be nice if they do an ICS port, or root access to trim the fat. I suppose failing that, a CM would be nice…I had a play with a workmate's 10" & I'm not sure what they've done to Gingerbread on it, but it's a real dog…my GT is far more responsive! :o

I'm no Android expert, but I get the impression that this would be a different tab altogether with a better version of the OS on it.

    • any market on the 7inch?

      • Yes, market is preinstalled.

        • cheers

    • Huh… but why would anyone buy from you when they can buy it from BigW for cheaper? Plus they have light speed shipping — I received mine 1 day after ordering it.

      • +1

cuz i'll selling it for $100, free shipping !

        • Why not just get a refund? lol

        • Never actually used, I just opened the box.

We all know that's a lie.

    • I was about to buy. Why did you ended? lol

      • +1

Prob because he realised he can do a refund haha

        • +1

damn. you shouldnt told him earlier. lol

  • +1

    Just ordered. now waiting….

  • +1

any chance BW will be making the WindPAD 110W available again ?…
    i'd like a windows8 tablet :-)

    • Yeah I was too slow, almost got one. :-(
I notice they have removed it completely from the store instead of it saying 'no stock' so I don’t like our chances.

  • Just received mine and can confirm that the Enjoy 10 does include market

    • How does it work? is it smooth?

      • It's not bad, games run pretty well on it although the resolution just makes it look bad. I'm going to update the firmware soon, see if it runs any better

        • Let me know :D I am on gold coast so will prob recieve it on thursday :|

    • Can you run Quadrant Standard ed. on it and tell us how it performs?

      • After updating to the latest firmware:

        Total:1181 CPU:1313 Mem:1104 I/O:2369 2d:99 3d:1021

Galaxy Tab has a total score of around 2300.

You get what you pay for, happy with it for $175

        • Cool, I'm going to update my firmware when I get home. Any issues with the update?

        • I had some issues with the update, after installing it the first time it took about 15 minutes and 3 resets to boot up. Also Wi-Fi was coming up with an error. I recopied the update and reinstalled it and now it works fine.

        • +1

From where did you get the current/latest firmware?

        • After you upgrade it, does the market still exist?

        • Yes, actually I have play store now

      • Same question, where do you get the latest firmware from?
