  • Was interested until I read the reviews.

Can you elaborate it? The review seems pretty good

      • "shows ~100VAC under low load (tested after getting an electric shock from a charging device)"

It's a $9 multi port PD charger. No one should expect these to be anything bar the most corner cut device on the planet.

I assume he meant to say "VA" load, not "VAC" voltage out.

i.e. has a large capacitive (or inductive) load so poor power factor.

Using a capacitive dropper on a phone charger is so bad as to be hard to believe. they are normally only used for very small power requirements, e.g. a wifi operated relay. It would explain the charger getting hot, and low power capacity.

Make me wonder if these are genuine Abetcabe chargers.

Electrical hazard. Read the reviews on Amazon. I would avoid. It's not worth risking your life, your house, or your electronics on something like this.

    • +5

All those bad reviews and Amazon keeps this product for sale. Tut tut tut.

shows ~100VAC under low load (tested after getting an electric shock from a charging device)

    Nice

    Not safe so not interested

  • Would like to purchase one (but not this).

Can anyone make a recommendation? I can see the Anker wall charger for about $59.99 delivered on Amazon.

I sincerely hate using kogan, but uhhhh. It's twice the price everywhere else.

This one just seems great for the price.

I bought this from Kogan about 2 months ago. I use it to power my laptop and charge my phone everyday. The 100w output is great and I haven't had any problems so far. I'd recommend it.

Thanks everyone for sharing the reviews about safety issues. I was about to buy it but read these.

  • Mixed reviews…..latest ones are pretty positive….they must have made improvement in the current ones as per reviews they seem to work well.
