my favourite chilli sauce is Lao Gan Ma

My favourite chilli sauce is dried cayenne chilli peppers.
Monosodium Glutamate delight.
good/bad?
I get the 750ml bottle from any KFL supermarket for $5 (sometimes less).
But I get that woollies is much more common. Thanks, I was going to ask what's the regular price at the Asian Grocers.
makes sense. at KFL Springvale (Vietnamese suburb), there are a lots of Pho places and their only spicy sauce is Huy Fong Sriracha.
got link
Hot price
Much better than chilli jam
No one uses chilli jam, maybe except Jamie Oliver
Don't forget to put the toilet paper in the freezer.
Its not that hot
Not hot enough for me.
Buy two then
If you want real hot..try the ABC Extra Hot Chilli Sauce (Sambal extra pedas). Available at WW for $2⁸⁰
Lol
It's not really hot but I still love this stuff
Lol, go to an Asian market and get a 10L bottle for $20
linkk
Great if you like a weak chili sauce packed with sugars and preservatives :)
I am pretty sure there are plenty of Aussies who think this is hot: https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/62664/trid…
Sriracha is death acid in comparison.
Had some fresh chilies from the garden the other day in stir fry. So hot I actually used the trident sweet chilly to cool it down. It actually worked.
What do you suggest as some good alternatives?
Byron Bay Chilli Co. Heavenly Habanero Hot Sauce has a nice kick
https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/94921?goog…
umm… yes, that is exactly what we want!
? ?
740mL bottle at standard RRP is still cheaper.
Linghams Sriracha is the best, but can no longer get it in Australia. Huy Fong has become my alternative.
True, Linghams one is theee bestttt…. ! !
92g of sugar per 100g would explain that!
Do you realize that you are exaggerating toooo much .. Almost all the sauce out there have sugar in it FYI..
To give you a clear idea, check the ingredients of the sauce through the link below
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Linghams-Sriracha-Sauce-280-ml/dp/B…
It contains 70% chili and 14% garlic … So according to you, 92% of it is sugar … ???
@GDayStraya: Sorry was looking at their chilli sauce which is 92% sugar. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/791072/lin…
@ScroogeMcChicken: That's insane right … Like taking a sugar syrup…
The sriracha sauce of both the brands Lingham's and Huy Fong have around 84% chilli/garlic… It's an Impressive formulation isn't it … ?

@GDayStraya: Yeah tried all the Linghams, and would recommend the sriracha above any of their sweet sauces.
I think the one at Aldi is alright and the price may be better too.
linksy
Sorry no link. It's worth a try.
idk what it looks like or called
Its a sauce used by the crew in the international space station 🤓
To assist bowel movement
So that bowel movements can assist with propulsion.
I still haven't tried this yet. I do like hot sauce but for some reason never had this.
the focus is more on chilli than heat ……it’s made with jalapeño chilies , jalapeño aren’t very hot, was developed in the USA, so not as hot as thai sriracha, but lots of chilli flavour due to use of a milder chilli.
if you want hot go for habaneros based sauce or ones made with birds eye chili’s etc.
Oh OK, I actually buy the coles brand sliced jalapeños and sprinkle them over my stir fry on my plate. I do like the vinegar the jalapenos are in too. I'm going to give this a go. Thanks mate.
It's quite different to most hot sauces (a lot more sugar and also strong garlic flavour). I love chilli and hot sauces but I'm personally not a fan of this, worth trying once though.
there is a documentary on the fong sriracha, because it was developed in the USA, it explains why they adjusted the level of garlic, used jalapeños, etc, think of it as an americanised chilli condiment rather than sriracha from thailand ….it was made for americans / westerners , not as an export to thailand ……
i keep the american sriracha and thai sriracha in my pantry, use the american one mostly.
a lot of people have started to copy the bottle and get on the brands market share.
it has a cult following among some people and it’s the only brand they will buy like birkenstock’s. has followers and it’s the only sandal some will buy.
Explosive deal
I prefer sambal.
IMO has better flavour.
For (supermarket) heat lovers you can try One Night In Mexico Habanero, it’s a sauce with the suger etc but it’s decent heat and I’ve used as a dip when mixed with a salsa for good flavour and heat.Yeah, quite tasty and on the hotter side. I found it a bit too tasty and I finish the bottle way too quickly.
My personal fave hot sauce is Shit the Bed. Love the name, bottle and flavour.
Just not the price. Too expensive for an everyday sauce.
Love my Sriracha and Tapatio 💜
Can’t believe so many of you don’t think this is hot! I usually have to wait a few weeks after opening before I truly enjoy it.
It's pretty weaksauce, but it's great as a condiment for everyday eating. I like this with yum cha dim sims (especially har gaos).
why few weeks
For those that want a little more punch Byron Bay Chilli Co. Heavenly Habanero Hot Sauce has a nice kick
https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/94921?goog…
Yes, but it tastes nothing like a sriracha. It has a strong lemon flavour - great for fish & chips. It's still not very hot though.
good for fried rice?
I prefer Frank's.
Frank's on peanut paste sangas is my go-to lunch.
Franks is okay - Aldi sometimes have that on special 👍
i would try this if i don't have 3 chilli source at home
Sourcing your own chillies, that's some saucy dedication.
These would match

Still expensive. You can get cheaper at KFL
482 gr $4.20
793 gr $4.89All standard price
May I suggest you to post it as a new deal if you think it's justified not only the price but the ease of getting these? There are 9 stores KFL supermarket and only located in VICTORIA.
Can't have one sauce for every cuisine.
We have in the cupboard at least a dozen chilli sauses for different foods.
Chilli oils, chilli flakes, sauces, condiments It's never ending
I prefer Cholimex from Vietnam: https://yinyam.com.au/products/cholimex-hot-chili-sauce-tuon…
