Now requires US VPN.

I was just browsing YouTube and stumbled upon a bunch of movies that are free to stream, but with ads.

    Aaaaaaaaaaand… Its gone.

As of 8:31pm WST all videos blocked in Australia

Is it just me or YouTube just bans all these videos in Australia. I keep on getting the message that says "The uploader has not made this video available in your country". That message didn't appear 20 min ago.

I get the same message. We're not worthy.

      • If we stopped going to youtube, their ad rev would drop and they would reconsider!

Jokes on them, they dont realize there are torrent sites out there … OMEGAKEK

Speak english. There is no such word as OMEGAKEK. We aren't SMSing here!

          Gabe Newell famously once said

We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem," he said. "If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate's service is more valuable.

It was working a few minutes before. Now not available in Australia.

Did we just Ozbargain free movies on YouTube?!

  • Am confused over this post Subject being adjusted. Surely it should say expired as it is no longer avail as per original post (didn't require a VPN) so comments related to that i.e. avail in AU no VPN required?
This should be posted as a different thread rather than change the subject "technically"?

    • +2

I marked it as expired and another power user changed it. The mods can decide.

      • +4

I agree with VPN required rather than expired

        • -3

But it's a totally different requirement.
It's no different than saying a Book is free from Amazon AU and then changing it to say only avail if you have a US account. It's fine to change if no comments were made (but many were) in turn I susbscribed to AU and not VPN required.
It should not be changed however if new post are created it can refer back to original for links/comments.

      OP here.

I don't mind either way if it needs to be marked as "expired" or if it continues on as "VPN required". Whichever way the mods deem most appropriate.

I'm just sad that Youtube decided to bar the Aussies from their free movie catalogue. Now we're all going to have to seek other legal means to view the 2011 masterpiece The Zookeeper, starring Kevin James.

Using a VPN is not illegal as far as I know…….and it was free here and it remains as free there so payment should not be arbitrarily imposed just because a person lives here rather than there IMO.

        • +1

Oh yep. I should've better phrased that. VPN is perfectly legal. What I should've said was, now it's very slightly less easier to view the 2011 masterpiece The Zookeeper, starring Kevin James.

          • @mudkipz: No suggestion of anything illegal with VPN on my query.
Anyhow, all good and more surprised about the changing of original post "Title and requirements" after comments were made by users and was australia based and no VPN required on OP. I subscribed to it however had it being VPN required, I would not have even viewed the original post if that makes sense.
I still stand by belief that changes should not be permitted to an OP title if it changes the dynamics of the post and/or if comments have been submitted. I have no problems with adding further info to desc where needed. All good and just food for thought.

A lot of effort to just not torrent them in much better quality.

  • Has anyone figured out a way to watch these on a LG smart TV? I have a paid VPN service. (PIA)

I could use Iptorrents and download these but i want to avoid this.

    • Do you have a router that supports VPN? it should work. Also, maybe you can install the VPN on the Smart TV? That may or may not work.
      Thanks,

  • Have fun watching in 2.0.
