100,000 Bonus Membership Rewards Points with AmEx Business Explorer Credit Card (AF Now $149 p.a, Was $395 p.a)

100

Amex has recently relaunched their American Express Business Explorer Credit Card product with a significantly reduced annual fee of $149 (was previously $395).

Get 100,000 Bonus Membership Rewards points when you apply online by 13 January 2021 and spend $3,000 on your new card within 3 months of your approval date. Offer available to new card members only.

In addition to the reduced annual fee, there is an introductory rate of 3.99% p.a. on purchases for the first 6 months (reverts to 19.99% p.a). The annual business loyalty bonus has also been removed, however the significantly reduced ongoing annual fee could offer more value to businesses which do not meet high annual spend threshold.

Key benefits:
* 100,000 bonus Membership Rewards Gateway points (new card members)
* Earn rate of up to 2 points per $1 spent (the equivalent of 1 frequent flyer point per dollar in airline schemes incl. Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Cathay Pacific AsiaMiles and Velocity)
* 3.99% p.a. on purchases for the first 6 months (reverts to 19.99% p.a).
* Add up to 99 Employee cards at no additional cost
* While most of us aren’t travelling much right now, there’s also comprehensive domestic and international travel insurance, two entries to the American Express Lounge, fast track to Hilton Honors Silver status and access to The Hotels Collection accommodation booking benefits

Eligibility:
To apply for this card, you must have an annual business revenue of $75,000 or more and your business must have a valid ABN registered for GST.
To receive the 100,000 bonus Membership Rewards points, you must not currently hold or have previously held a Card product issued by American Express Australia Limited in the preceding 18 month period. Previous and existing bank-issued American Express companion Card Members are eligible for this offer.

  • For existing cardholder, has the annual fee reduced too?

updated: this is the business card, ignore my comment

    • Doesn't have the travel credit too

  • What can you do with reward points?

    • 2 Membership Rewards Gateway point = 1 Frequent Flyer point per dollar in airline schemes incl. Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Cathay Pacific AsiaMiles and Velocity. Points can also be used to purchase gift cards, and to get credit back on your statement (more info on our post and via the Amex website).

  • This or the personal card?

    • +2

Reduced annual fees but no $400 travel credit and lounge entries, not that we can use these anytime soon but maybe one of the points to take into account?

Also, the explorer card for personal currently has 150,000 bonus points.

      • Yeah I will prob go for personal one then.

        • Personal Explorer card has a $395 annual fee though!

          • @yourpants: $400 credit evens out the price, if you travel

            • @UberIsCool: Edit: Duplicate comment.

            • @UberIsCool: On paper I guess it does but flight selections are limited to Qantas and Virgin (from memory), and I haven't particularly enjoyed booking through their system.

That plus it may be awhile before we're travelling again. But personal circumstances vary, just for me it probably isn't worth the $395 annual fee.

              • @yourpants: I use it for hotels, not for flights

              • @yourpants: They can be used for experiences, hotels, flights, car rentals (mostly airport locations though).

Given it's included travel credit, I find their rates quite reasonable, even sometimes comparable to other online travel agencies.

They also have statement credit (i.e spend $250 get $50 credit, etc..) every now and then, if you have to pay extra.

But yea, depends on your own circumstances.

  • its 110k bonus points if you use the referral link.
