70

Works out as $90 for 50k Qantas points if you keep the card for 4 months and spend at least 1.5k each month, plus if you spend 2k each month the monthly fee is waived. Potentially the best value card I can see for collecting Qantas points now.

  • Has anyone created a Credit Card comparison? I'm keen to know how does this card compare with others?

I'm looking at churning for points but only want to bother with the largest ROI.

Don't make the mistake I did a while ago and get this card without being an existing Yello member and therefore no Qantas bonus points.

I got 100's of $ benefit from no international transaction fees on a recent holiday and will attempt to chase points at the end of the 4 months but not holding my breath.

    • I can't see on the page that being a Yello member is required to receive the points and it says only the spend requirement.

It says you need to be a Yello member to get some benefits like the Cashback Offers.

Have you checked it with Commbank?

      • Used to be in their old cc promos.

Yes, looks like that "requirement" has changed woth this offer. Wonder if they will accept this offer's T&Cs for my previously provided card… again, unlikely, but I will give it a shot.

I wasn't a yello member when I got this card last year (commbank rewards converted to Velocity instead of QFF, but I think that does not matter). Yello started to show offers about 3 days after I received the card. And next month they dissapeared for some reason, but appeared again on month 3.

Anyways, got my points without any issues ~3 weeks after 4th statement.

      • Good to know, cheers for the info!

I tried to get a Cth card a few months back and got repeatedy rejected after initial approval. No real explanation given.

Applied for a Qantas Amex last month and got approved immediately for $37k in credit. So I don't know what Commonwealth's problem was, but be warned they might be random jerks!

    • That is interesting given lots of people say Amex reject churners!

      • +1

I was rejected by AMEX first and Citi gave me a card with 11k limit. So who knows.

  • how do you be a yello member? Spend 5 times on a commbank card each month?

  • Anyone know how oftern can you churn commonwealth bank credit cards?
