    Got the email. Thanks.

  • I didn't get any notifications about this but can confirm it is available under 'my offers' Cheers

    • same here

    • +3

Can't see "my offers" or "Promotional offers"… where do I need to look?

      Edit: found it.

      • Awesome, thank you so much!

      • +1

I don't use eBay to sell often, but every time I look for these offers it takes me 5 minutes to find. Thanks for posting the link.

  • -1

I have received the same but you can only list in one category :-( - "The promotion only applies to listings in one category. If you add an additional category to your listings, all applicable fees will apply for the additional category."

    • +1

I think that's been a standard condition for every one of these promos. Might be wrong..

      • Yep that is a standard condition for any of the "sell for free" offers.

    • +8

In case you're confused, that is a single category per item, not a single category for all 10 listings. You can put any listings in any categories, just one only category per listing.

      • Thanks.

  • Sweet. Just in the nick of time. Had my old MacBook scheduled for sale from tonight.

    $0 Insertion - That's what she said.

    • Michael Scott is in the house!

    • BARGAIN!

      • +1

Think you meant "I DECLARE BARGAAAAAIN" :D

  • If I sign up now will I get this?

    • Assuming so but probably best to jump on the eBay chat and ask.

    • +1

Just use the Gumtree free listings if you dont have many. Similar promos roll around a lot, $1 sales, etc, nothing much like this but still.

  • +1

Can anyone suggest how to see your current 'promotional offers'. I've looked around my account and related pages and can't see anything with that heading.

  • +1

Be careful, just because this promotion shows up in your account does not mean you are automatically eligible. I can see this offer in my seller hub but after listing an item for sale it shows 0 used / 10 Left.

    • Unusual…… But a good thing you checked. Cancel it and try again. Did you "accept" the promo first? There is a small hyperlink below the circle that says "learn more". I clicked this and it gave me the option to accept the promo. Unusual, as if the promo isn't ready to go, it usually doesn't show up in the sellers page with the "circle number layout".

    • Single quantity listings only.

    • This also happened during some of the recent offers, others spoke to eBay chat for those promotions and confirmed that the listings were counted in the promotion even though it didn't show in the numbers.

But best to confirm with eBay chat once you have your listing numbers.

For what its worth everytime I've had issues with ebay selling promotions and being charged final value fees for things that I thought I shouldn't have (even when it was my fault for not reading T&C's properly), I've contacted ebay support and been refunded the fees.

    • I've had this and even when it doesn't capture on that page I still didn't get charged a fee.
Always take a screenshot of the offer when you list, worst case is you have to chat to support for them to remove fees that shouldn't be charged.
Never had them say no to that.

    • +1

Chat with ebay support (No other ways of contacting them at the moment as far as i can tell) and they will tell you to note down the item and contact them when it sells. However best not to have a item that didn't sell relist and sell it under the promotion, as some at ebay claim relisted items do not fall under any promotion, even though relisted items automatically take up any of the fee promos available. In other words make sure any item that sells under the promo is newly listed, not relisted, especially if you're having problems with the promo activating.

    • Same here. Listed on and off several times, but it did not work.

    • +1

I finally worked out a way to use these 10 free selling listings.

Just relist or list anything and you'll receive an email from eBay says the listing is alive…

In the email, scroll down to find "Keep selling with these special offers", click "List an Item" under the "eBay Plus Members, Now Sell For FREE". By going through this link, you are sure to use one of these ten free selling listings.

Alternatively, find the offer message (Title: Your name, Thanks for being an eBay Plus member) in your eBay account, click through the offer link "Start selling".

You have to always to click through the offer link (in your email or from a message in your account) in order to create a free selling listing.

Pay $0 Insertion & Final Value Fees

Even today every time I see this I still think this is a brothel ad..

  • Didn't get email but it's in my seller hub.
    Winner.

  • Has anyone cancelled an auction and relisted to avoid final value fee? Was this successful? I have a Gretsch Guitar listed around 2200 which would be worthwhile avoiding the fee.

    • Yep I do this all the time. But when you cancel the listing, don't click on relist, click on "sell similar", some offers don't count a relisted item as eligible.

    • Same, all the time.

    • Like Shads said, by all means go ahead and cancel your listing and "sell similar". Even though when you "relist" it will take up a promotion slot, if anything goes wrong ebay will try to wriggle their way out of giving you the promotion claiming relisted items are not eligible (despite the fact relisted items automatically use up any promos available).

  • Boo, i already have the 'list/sell 1 free this month' and so this doesnt seem to be coming up for me :(

    • I got both. First was the sell 10 and then the list 1 came through. Sell 10 gets “eaten up” first even though the list 1 expires earlier…

  • I'm confused about "Ends 31 Dec". Do I have to list an item for sale, or list and sell it, before Dec 31 to qualify? Any thoughts? Thank you!

    • +2

You don't have to sell it by 31 Dec, just have to list it before it expires.

      • +1

        Cheers mate!

        • +1

However if your item does not sell within the 30 days after you have listed (assuming you are listing it as fixed price rather than auction) then you have to manually end it or it auto relists. If there is yet another free listing it's fine as it will be used up but if there is none and your item sells after being relisted, you will be charged the full fee.

  • -3

It's funny how context is everything.

$0 insertion fee is a totally different meaning in another industry.

  • Have Ebay plus and didnt get this offer although have the usual 'Free Fixed Price & Auction Listings List Fixed Price or Auction for FREE every month.' :(

    • That ebay algorithm, eh?

  • Great deal, thansk OP - need to actually USE it this time!

  • Looking to sell a few heavy items and Sendle is offering the cheapest postage rates. Has anyone used them before?

    • +1

Yep use them all the time for my parcels. My experience is mostly positive, it's handy to be able to leave it somewhere and they just come and pick it up. They have a 2 day pickup guarantee as well, so if they don't pickup within that time, they refund you the shipping cost but still delivery your parcel.

The one negative that I have is that they changed their T&C's so that if there is a lost parcel, they only refund you the value of the item (up to $100) and not the cost of delivery which they use to do.

You'll need a printer though so you can get the shipping label.

  • I somehow have two of these (both with slightly different wording and start/end times) and a “sell one item free” so they’ve essentially waived off the next 21 items lmao

  • I got the promo and I’m not a ebay plus member, odd, I haven’t sold anything for ages but I actually need to at the moment

  • Is anyone on managed payments?

I listed and the 10 free listings counter went down. Then I sold item and still got charged FVF

    • Get on live chat, they will credit your account. They are normally really good with that.

      • Yeh that’s what I have been doing. But it’s going to be very annoying to have to do this for every single item I sell - assuming all of the 10 items listed in this promo sells.

But I was just wondering if anyone else on managed payments have experienced problems with free selling promos.

Before I was on managed payments the FVF was never charged whenever I lost and sell an item using a free selling promo

        • You have to always click the correct same offer link in order to create a free selling listing (thinking of the same way of how to earn cashback). Normal create listing does not work (no cashback). Find my guide in the comments above and save the hassle to contact eBay customer service.

          • @Neoika: Are you on managed payments?

            • @proudwanderer: I am casual on eBay selling. Whatever seller you are, I think it is the same way to create a free selling listing.

              • @Neoika: Do you know what managed payments is?

Your guide above refers to clicking through in order to create the free selling listing.

Creating it is not my problem here. Even though I didn’t click through like in your guide - I know that it still worked in creating the free selling listing because the counter goes down when I create the listing.

The problem is when it sells - I get charged the FVF.

Before on past promotions I was never charged the FVF on free listing promotions.

Ever since ebay switched me to managed payments promos never worked and I am charged FVF every time.

                • @proudwanderer: This deal is FVF free. I sold one this month and it was. My selling/sold shows 7 remaining/3 used for "eBay Plus Members, Now Sell For FREE" at the moment.

                  • @Neoika: Yes but are you on managed payments?

If you’re still on the old system then there’s no issue.

What I am saying is I have never had an issue before when I was still on the old system.

However ever since I have been switched to managed payments I am charged FVF even though the deal is supposed to be FVF free.

And I am wondering if anyone here is:

                    1) on managed payments AND
                    2) having issues of FVF being charged even though the deal is supposed to be FVF free

                    • @proudwanderer: When I say "casual on eBay selling", I mean I do not sell more than 10 a month. Simple free selling listings are sufficient for me. Managed payments sounds like for volume sellers.

                      • @Neoika: Hence why you aren’t experiencing the same problem as I am.

I also do not sell more than 10 a month. Often less. I only listed 10 this month coz of this promo.

Before I was switched to managed payments I never had any problems.

Managed payments is not for volume users - it was opt in.

I chose to opt in - and obvious regretting it now.

Anyway, soon ebay will start moving every seller to managed payments - whether you want it or not.

                      • +1

@Neoika: In case you’re curious, I received an “invitation” to opt in to managed payments a few months back.

Currently it is invitation only, but I believe it will eventually be rolled out to all sellers and you have no choice but to use it.

I think I received the invitation because I have been an eBay member for a long time - 10+ years

I’m obviously regretting it now, as the system seems to have issues - key issue is promos will always charge FVF even though it’s supposed to be FVF free.

There was a list 5 listings for $1 which I used last month that I was also charged full FVF rather than only $1 like it’s supposed to.

                    • @proudwanderer: My selling/sold shows 0 remaining/10 used for "eBay Plus Members, Now Sell For FREE" at the moment.

I have listed 10 items - all 10 have triggered the promo correctly - since the counter has gone down.

Sold 2 items today - both were charged FVF

WHY? I believe it’s coz I am on managed payments.

  • well that's scummy ebay. the end time was 23:30, not 23:59 as one would expect.

  • Can anyone help me out here?

I listed an item on 12-Dec. Item sold on 11-Jan - and I have been charged FVF.

The way I interpret this is that the item just needs to be listed and made available during the promo period. It does not have to be SOLD during the promo period.

I hopped onto ebay chat and the agent refused to refund the FVF. Claims that the item must be SOLD during the promo period.

Am I right or is the ebay agent right?

    • The last item I sold on eBay was in Jan 8 and no FVF.

      • So is my interpretation of the T's & C's correct then?

—> That the item needs to be "listed and made available" during the promo period, but doesn't necessarily have to be SOLD during the promo period?

Therefore, my item should qualify for free FVF right?

    • Happened to me but I got them to to waive it, when it relists you get charged FVF

      • My item wasn't "relisted" - but was sold on day 30. Listed on 12-Dec and sold on 11-Jan.

I spent half an hour with the ebay agent. They refused to waive. Repeatedly saying that the item must be SOLD during the promo period.

        • I'm with you on the interpretation.
          Pretty scummy practice IMO.

  • From the ebay agent - very scummy:

    PawanKumar:

The promotion runs from 00:00 (AEDT) on 03 December 2020 to 23:30 (AEDT) on 31 December 2020 (“Promotion Period”). So this line itself says that promotion ends on 31st Dec 2020 and the Title of the promotion says that item should get listed and Sold within the promotional period. This statement itself makes clear about the qualification of the item.

This is a standard policy for every seller. We are not able to amend the policy manually.

Please understand that this is the policy for the particular promotion and I am very sure that I have made you understand about it.

I am afraid if you think this way but I really want to make you understand that this is a standard policy for all our sellers and since this promotion has already ended we are neither authorised nor do we have any option on the system to credit the fees back to your account as Item is sold outside the Promotional offer.
