[Pre Order] Breville The Barista Pro - BES878BSS + Bonus 1kg Coffee via Redemption $803 @ Stan Cash

190

Managed to price match this in store at JB-Hifi in the black version very easily.
Seems to be the best price of late.
In my research vs Barista express
More grinding settings
Better interface
3 second heat time vs 30
Con - no pressure gauge

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2020

  • Nice one!

I think the milk frother has 2 holes instead of 1 on its predecessor. It still uses a 54mm group head if that matters to anyone. It has a PID, but not one that you can monitor yourself, so it will be off a slightly larger range than an aftermarket mod for Gaggia/Silvia, which people often like to compare this to. That said, those mods end up costing around $200+ delivered.

my pro has 3 holes in the frother

      • Have you used any other Brevilles before? I'm using the Breville Infuser, which is the Express without the grinder. The milk frothing capability of mine isn't that great, but this is the first and only machine I've owned.

        • Yeah mate I went from a Sunbeam EM7000 and was really disapointed with the steam wand but yeah you get used to it. Still extracts a great drop and I am enjoying straight espresso more these days

      • Must be some design difference, the Bambino has 4 and it steams really quick.
        Probably the thermoblock design

    • Got a pro about 2-3 weeks ago, mine has 4 holes
10% off at tgg. Loving it

      • Can also vouch for the coffee that you get via redemption. St Ali Wide awake is what we’ve been drinking and is good, haven’t got the redemption yet tho. As far as ongoing use, it’s pricier than a lot of the recent OZB coffee deals. St Ali website has subscription of 1kg a month for around $48.50 a kg atm
We have a local cafe that will sell us 1kg bags for $50 so we will just go with that while we explore alternatives (currently going through 2kg a month)

  • Doesn't Jbhi-fi's price matching policy require the competitor have the item in stock?

  • Most obvious comment in the world, I'm coming from the BES870 which has finally given way after just over 7 years I think (maybe 6), so I'm happy with that and will buy again now - avoid stainless steel, it's impossible to keep clean, am in the market for a black one this time.

  • Be careful when dealing with Stancash. I recently purchased a coffee machine from them which was faulty. Had to drive out to store to drop machine off.. still waiting for response as to when and if they will fix it after countless emails and phone calls.
