In the airpod page, under Lightning deals, there are two option, one $249 and another one $399. When it is available, it will show "You have XX minutes to add to cart" just under $249 and above $399.
@eckers19: Try refreshing too, then click back on the lightning deal button as OP mentioned in the post. I did that and lucky to see it. I only had 1 minutes to add to cart by time I saw it.

You know how it says, we will notify on the app (if you have notifications turned on) and on the website as well.. Does that work? Cos I am at work and I have been refreshing every few mins like the OP have mentioned.. But if that is going to work, I am going to give up on this constant refresh thing..
@koffeetime: Really depends, my notification from app for this deal was after I added to cart. Can be hit and miss.
don't leave it in your cart at 399. once youre on the waitlist keep refreshing the page till you can add it under the 249 lighting deal tab

Yeah I was waiting, then saw OP post about refreshing, and I hit refresh, click on the Light Deal button, boom "You have XX minutes to add to cart". I added then says "You have XX minutes to checkout". The price will show $249.
I just opened the page and it was available.
Clicked "buy now" and price had already gone back up.
For me, when it became available, there was a link to add to cart, I don't recall clicking on button… So I'm not sure. Sorry.

I was on the actual item page hitting refresh between 1257pm and 105pm and never once did the quantity show up greater than zero, so there was never a buy button to hit at 1pm today (Same earlier @ 10am…)
However if you check the sales for the same listing, there were over 100 peeps who completed their sale between 1:02pm and 1:08pm for the Apple Airpods so….WTF? how are you actually supposed to order one? This is just like trying to get an RTX3080 or RTX3090 video card, not possible, bots & scalpers get it first.

@akte: If you are using browser to check serial, it won’t work. Only handles devices. You need to use support app and choose airpod pro under product table then choose warranty.
hey guys, i received the airpods from amazon, but there is a problem.
i cant register it.
its looking for the correct purchase date, i tried 27-Nov-2020, and its no go.
so warranty might be an issue later on, as the apple support chat is saying apple will need to verify the purchase date.
amazon purchase is not a proof for purchase for apple warranty, so if serial number is not in the invoice, no warranty.
i should have checked this before buying.

If they didn't care the first time, it is unlikely the negative reviews will sway them.
Officeworks HQ (i.e. price match purchase over the phone) pulls the same shenanigans, i.e. no serial number on the tax invoice PDFs.

As others have stated, when I enter it in the Apple coverage checker, it says “purchase date no validated”, and it doesn’t accept 27/11/20 either.

I've reached out to Amazon about tax invoice from iFrog and they said that if a purchase has no GST applied to it, the seller is not required to issue a tax invoice. Not too happy about this

I think even airpods bought from ebay plus deal will have the same issue, you will only get the invoice of your ebay purchase, not the actual date of the airpods ourchased by the seller.
Yep I had that happen with an earlier purchase of AirPod pros.
Saw some comments stating call Apple to ask them to help update the purchase date. Amazon customer service was not helpful at all. All they said is you can return the item and we will refund it.
With mine Apple couldn’t update it either over the phone and told me if I had issues with the pros to take the receipt in that I had.
