Ryzen 7 3700X | RTX 3070 Gaming PC [B450 Aorus/16GB 3200/650B]: $1688 + Delivery @ TechFast

2481
3700X-3070-BFCM

This is our big one for BF/CM. AMD have supported us for a once off R7-3700X at R5-3600 price for this deal and Galax and Gigabyte have chipped in to bring us $200 under the PCPP comparison. Feel like it stacks up pretty well price-wise against the Dell 3070 system, with plenty of upgrade options available as always.

Ryzen 7 3700X / RTX 3070 8GB Gaming PC: $1688 after 3700X-3070-BFCM

  • Ryzen 7 3700X 8c/16t processor
  • Galax SG MSI Ventus 2X RTX 3070 8GB GPU (Gigabyte Eagle and Ventus upgrade available) - updated 28/11)
  • Gigabyte B450M Aorus Elite motherboard (lots of upgrades including MSI Pro-VDH WiFi and X570 Aorus Elite WiFi). If the Giga B450M sells out (loads available) the Biostar B550 is also the same price.
  • 16GB 3200MHz RAM (brand/model may vary)
  • 240GB 2.5" SSD (for those bringing own storage, or upgrades available; brand/model may vary)
  • Gigabyte P650B 650W 80 Plus Bronze PSU (750 Gold and 850 Gold available)
  • Lance-V RGB 4 Fan ATX case - details/specs

The below cover entry level, budget, sub-$1000, 1440P and high tier deals. If you have any other BFCM spec requests let me know and I'll see what we can do; RTX 3080, RX 6000 series and Zen 3 chips deals are not possible. RTX 2070/S and 2080/S are end of life too.

    • Great stuff!

  • Hi Luke, maybe I'm just blind but when does the deal expire?

    Cheers

    • +1

somewhere up above Luke said BFCM (Black Friday Cyber Monday) only, or until stock sold out

  • +1

    This or the dell?

  • Finally bit the bullet on this one. Got the base model so I could upgrade it myself and have some semblance of building it.

    • thanks for ordering! You can always request unassembled if you'd prefer to build it yourself. Emails [email protected] if so

  • Why does the Windows 10 Home activation cost $169 on your website, while on Microsoft it is "From AU$225.00"?

    • Techfast probably pay a bulk fee

    • Genuine Home is always around 169. Sounds like you're looking at Pro (or NZD)

  • +1

Really stoked to have ordered this! Upgrading from a 10 yr old i7 2600 with crossfired Radeon HD6950's.

    • Thanks!

      • +1

Hey mate - just wondering when to expect an order confirmation?

        • I am wondering this too

        • +1

Autogenerated emails are sent to the email you use at checkout. If not received, check Spam or email [email protected] and we'll send the invoice that will be sent on paper with the system.

  • would it be possible to make an option for the MSI GeForce RTX 3070 GAMING X TRIO 8GB Video Card at additional cost too?

  • uh oh the Galax one is out of stocked :(

  • Just ordered one, thanks :)

    • thanks!

  • +1

Hey Luke, I ordered this morning where I had to pay an extra $59 for the MSI Ventus since the Galax was sold out. Now the MSI Ventus card comes essentially free with the original deal. Can something be worked out? Thanks.

    • +2

Hi Luke, I am in the same boat. Ordered it this morning and then saw the website got updated.

It would be good if you can partially refund just the $59 or something

      Cheers.

    • I'm in the same boat with the i7 system

    • +1

As long as you're happy for it to definitely be the 2 fan card, sure, because that's what's being offered at no extra cost over the galax. Please email [email protected] so we can process Monday if so.

      • I’m also in the same boat, I ordered this morning and did the 59$ upgrade from the Galax (sold out) to the MSI Ventus with the i7 system.

In my order summary it showed that the Graphics Card would be the MSI Ventus 2X OC RTX 3070 8GB Graphics Card. I just wanted to know that if we paid 59$ for the upgrade will it definitely be the 3 fan card?

        • +3

It's not guaranteed to be the 3 fan, no. We have some 3 fans on hand and in stock but are using both. Taking the $59 refund would guarantee the 2 fan though. All we're doing is absorbing the additional cost of the Ventus into our profit. Preference on 3 fan cards will be given to those who paid for the upgrade, but also can't guarantee every upgrade will get a 3 fan. So, if anyone wants to hang onto their upgrade and request that if they don't get the three fan card, they can get the refund, please email [email protected].

          • @luketechfast: Thanks Luke! I've emailed asking for exactly this (refund if not 3 fans). I hadn't received a response from my previous email enquiry either so just wanted to confirm you guys have received it?

            • +3

@SpacePolitix: The team will reply to emails during business hours. I'm just manning OzB to direct these types of enquiries there so they can be actioned by the team, not just me.

      • I'm interested in the 3 fan model, how much extra on top of the base model price would it be to get it?

        • Also interested in this …

  • +1

Hey, I bought this deal on 27/11/2020 and I was wondering when considering COVID and how many people are buying on Black Friday, how long will shipping take? Thanks.

    • +1

We've scaled up and the intention is shipping in our regular estimated 14 business days from order to dispatch.

  • +1

Total noob here, can someone tell me the differences between the models of GPU's? Is it worth getting the eagle?/is the ventus significantly different from the original GPU before it sold out? Tried to google but found very little on it.

Also, if going with this deal, aside from storage, is there anything that should be upgraded?

Would appreciate any assistance, I haven't kept up with PC tech in years

    • +1

it's mostly a brand preference in terms of models that. Galax has now sold out so we've made the MSI 2 fan card available for the same original price.

  • Thanks Luke …bought 1…want to play Apex Legends…will I be able to ply on max settings and secondly will the 16gb ram be enough?

    • +1

Yep this is a monster. 16GB is enough for any current games. More would benefit audio/visual/productivity applications.

  • Just ordered. Thanks Luke for the good deal. I didn't want to miss out on this one.. was waiting for competitors in Sydney to come up with a decent deal but they haven't.

    • +1

Thanks. Not easy to come up with Black Friday deals amongst all the demand for components.

  • +13

As a retailer I can tell you this deal is impressively. Techfast obviously have some great contacts in the industry. 10/10 deal.

  • +1

Finally gave in and bought this with 32GB RAM and MSI upgrade. It's gonna look funny because of the massive ATX case with a small board and even smaller GPU with the MSI being 2 fans. Oh well as long as it works size doesn't matter, right?

My only gripe with this system is that there is no USB-C Slot anywhere on the GPU for the Oculus Link cable, and the case doesn't have any either.

As for experience with Techfast, my previous system 2 years ago has a GPU dead on arrival, but I was overseas for 2 months for Christmas and Lunar New Year so by the time I got back I figured it would be too late to ask for exchanges. I hope this one has faster shipping time and hopefully intact on arrival.

    • Any DOA request should be made immediately so we can keep a record of it, we definitely could have assisted once you were back. Thanks for giving us another go and make sure to report any (hopefully none!) issues straight away so we can provide support.

  • New to building computers, will I be able to add a wifi card and FireWire interface (for audio recording) to this? Or should I get the wifi mobo?

    • I had the same questions prior to me pulling the trigger but decided to go with the default MB. You should quite easily add them later. However, if you just want to buy-and-forget such that it all works from day one, them perhaps consider the wifi MB.

  • Hi Luke, Is it possible that it can be shipped without the SSD? I just bought a 2TB nvme and don't really need the extra storage

    • +1

We need the SSD installed so we can install OS and stress test everything.

  • I noticed that the cards have now been switched to MSI ones, I don't suppose you can switch out the system I bought with the MSI instead of the Galax?

    • +1

It's not logistically possible to change a card and manage stock to another base card. Another order would be required. There's just too much going on all at the same time t hi is weekend sorry. The Galax is a superior card anyway.

      • All good no biggie! Happy with the purchase anyway.

  • How does this deal compare to this dell on ebay at about $1600 with the 20% off?

    • +3

Techfast one is A LOT better for pretty much the same price

    • You can get the above with around $1000 mark price easily through techfast, Simply grab one of the budget PC deal ($799) and ask for CPU upgrade from 3500x to 3700x and you'll get effectively the same system, without wifi.

  • Hi Luke. I was just wondering something. You see, I use a small mATX case (since I take my pc travelling a lot), but given the deal is so good I was wondering if you would be willing to ship the individual components in their boxes, just without the case so I can assemble it into my own case. I would imagine such a thing would or may prevent me from the given 1 year warranty from your site, but I would be perfectly fine with that.

    • Couldn't you just transplant the parts after you received the entire thing assembled?

You make it sound like you just want to make a quick buck reselling the products.

      • I could do that too. Just less of a hassle with the individual parts really. I thought there would be no harm in asking as if I cannot do that, that is what I plan to do. But it would be annoying to just have an empty case afterwards. I guess I could just move my old components into the new pc if getting just the parts are not possible. But it just less hassle for me to sell my old system, order an identical mATX case and just put the new parts in that. It's less work then taking out the old parts, putting in the new, transplanting the older components into the new case and then selling that case with my older parts.

I would probably buy the deal either way, just there is no harm in asking it this can be done given it's using off the shelf components, and not generic system building parts (like generic Dell or Lenovo motherboards, etc)

I must ask tho, is it always your first choice when people ask for options to think they might be doing bad faith or bad practice actions? I am not being sarcastic or being in mean spirit or anything, just curious, and maybe a little insulted someone might think I'm asking for a quick flip.

In fact, the perfect option would be if the option to select a case of my choosing and just have them build the pc in that case, but then again, that increases the work on their end as well (ordering the case, putting the parts in and then shipping it out), but I don't know if that would be possible on their end.

        • Yeah apologies for assuming the worst, the ozbargain community has lots of people trying to profit off deals, often causing deals to sell out quickly before those who will actually use it can get them.

Theres a MAG Forge case option which is mATX, I think GPU clearance and thermals may be an issue for other cases. I don't think its too bad transplanting a pre-assembled computer considering everything's seated on the motherboard already. Could always giveaway or sell the left over case.

    • Review this and other threads. Pretty sure you just put SHIP UNASSEMBLED in the notes field and they'll do so, but have a look through the comments for Luke's statements on the topic

  • for upgrade price is too high, as motherboard, Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite WiFi ATX Motherboard $239.00 +$125.78 = $ 364.78, right price $349,
ssd, WD Blue SN550 1TB M.2 NVME SSD $135 at JW, - $35 ,upgrade would be $100, not $159 and others, all overprice for upgrade, hope upgrade opponents price to reasonable, thanks

  • from the description "if the Giga sells out…(loads available)", can someone tell me if there is a reason to upgrade the motherboard beyond the now default Biostar 550 model. Also, I think I would be more interested in the Eagle variant of the listed video cards, but from what I've read there might be different findings on overall temperatures and/or power usage. Anyone familiar with these issues who might be able to better clarify where the Eagle 3070 card stands in relation to the now default selection, in terms of power usages and temperature ranges that is. Exceptional deal by the way, I've been waiting and watching for around 5 months now for a Ryzen 7 combination and yes this certainly seems to be the best possible choice

    • +1

Only reason to upgrade to the b550 motherboard is if you are planning to upgrade to a zen 3 cpu or newer AMD CPU’s. Otherwise the b450 motherboard listed is the slightly better option compared to the biostar b550.

  • I see well that's probably something I think is important, in a sense at least, where I want a system to have a reasonable balance for cost between present capabilities and some additional possibilities for future-proofing

  • Hi Luke, what method do you guys use to ship your PC's? Am I able to designate a post office (Australia Post parcel Collect service) or a click and collect shop?

  • What competitors? LOL 👍👍
No one else released any kind of deal

    • +2

      The dell is pretty comparable

      • +2

The Dell is $300 more and comes with 1tb SSD and a 2tb HDD. It also has a worse PSU and it will be more difficult to upgrade. I'm pretty sure Techfast's is better even if it is slightly more expensive due to better quality components and ease of upgradability

        • +1

Like, you can get a 1tb SSD and a 2tb HDD for a little over $200. The only real benefit the Dell build has is a better CPU which gives better performance. But both systems are gonna do 144fps anyway, and you'll have to deal with whatever shitty cooling solution Dell put on their CPU whereas this at least has a Wraith Prism. I think the Techfast system will end up being <$100 more expensive but it's worth it.

  • Hi Luke, is the MSI B550M coming back into stock for this deal?

    • +1

need to speak to ops tomorrow

      • 👍

      • Hi Luke
Any chance you could lower the upgrade price of the 750w psu and upgrade the default ssd to 480gb instead of 240gb?
        Thanks

      • Any update on MSI B550M stock?
        Thanks

        • It's probably too much of a stretch to get a guarantee on stock from suppliers today sorry

  • Any chance the galax 3070 will be back in stock?

MSI 3070 is $949 while galax is $999

    • Also looking forward to galax 3070

    • Galax 3070 is a no at this point but looks like more MSI cards are confirmed.

  • +1

Has been 8 years since my last upgrade. Just copped this bad boy + the xiaomi 34" deal. Hope it serves me well.

    • thanks!

    • Same same

  • Love the chat here, esp. Luke being so supportive.

I'm back in PC game after a life time away. Can I just go with the standard 240Gb SSD here and then add an additional m.2 NVMe later to load games onto, or is it critial that the OS in on the fastest drive?

    • Having the OS on the NVME drive would result in better performance but I wouldn't say it's critical - the OS will still load nice and quickly from the SATA 3 SSD, especially if it's the only thing saved on there.

  • +3

    Hey Luke,

I've just pulled the trigger on this deal but it looks like the MSI 3070 cards are out of stock. Any chance of getting the Gigabyte eagles without paying the extra?

    • I'm in the same boat, are the base GPU's gonna be back in stock?

      • I just purchased as well - happy to go with the MSI if available

(btw thanks for the opinions and advice from Luke and all on this thread)

        • Same here. Any chance of getting the Gigabyte Eagle without the extra $79.00?

    • It doesn't seem like it. It's also a quantity thing with Giga cards. Buying more means we get more support from MSI but there aren't enough Gigas available to drop/absorb any price.

  • +1

Wondering why this deal has so much more traction than the similar i7 deal posted the next day. Is this genuinely that much better?

    • AMD are king now

  • +1

    Hi Luke
Just wondering when you guys will put up another PC deal with a 3080 or 6800XT?
    Thanks

  • Hi Luke
I placed an order last week but haven't received a confirmation invoice as yet, is it possible to get an update with this one please.
I also saw on the new deal the 3070s will start shipping from today?
    Order - TF121462631
    Cheers

    • +1

Thanks for your order! The auto generated confirmation email most likely went to spam. Please email [email protected] if not.
Not sure where a reference to shipping from today might have come from - we'll be working on our regular 14 business day shipping estimate for all these systems.

      • Thanks Luke
Checked my junk mail but haven't received anything, I have emailed [email protected]
With regards to the 3070 shipping, I saw it on this post - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/578949

        RTX 3070 Orders
As above these systems will start shipping from today, just 5 business days after launch. This should provide some insight into how significantly NVIDIA's 3080 delays have affected the industry!

Is this not applicable to my order?

        • I also have received nothing, including spam.

I did go back and look at the order confirmation page and it had an order number and tracking section. I did have a mild panic when my partner asked how it was coming along and I couldn't find an email :P

  • +1

    damnit i missed this

  • Hey Luke when is something like this going to be available again?

  • Anyone received their PC yet? *patiently waiting :D

  • +1

Techfast said it should come 18-19th of December realistically. I ordered on Black Friday

    • Hope so! Ordered on Black Friday too :)

    • Thank you

  • Just received shipping confirmation for the Intel deal (Black Friday, mostly same specs - just i7 instead). I'm hoping for delivery by the end of the week if all things go well with AusPost but otherwise it's definitely going to be here WAY before the usual 14 business days. Extremely impressed as my previous Techfast PC was delayed by a few weeks earlier this year, and also looks to beat Dell in both value and delivery time.

    • +2

We're pretty good as long as we dont get cucked by manufacturing issues!
