What sorcery is this? Insanely good deal.

    Techfast goes bang

The front mesh looks like Meshify C, must be good airflow!

  • +2

    this is cheap

  • +16

Wow… must be a competitor downvoting all the positive comments.

  • Is there a deal for RAM, MOBO, CPU and GPU?

    • +8

Yes, buy this and sell the parts you don't want.

      • Lol who's gonna buy a Biostar Mboard?

        • Price it right and they will come :-)

          • @camelthief: Sorry, I haven't been in the PC build game for almost 10 years.

            Is Biostar a relaible mobo?

Would you suggest going with the B450M Mortar Max instead?

  • No 3600 option?

    • +3

This definitely would be a much better deal with a 3600 as standard.

    • +1

Read second line of the OP.

      • its easier to whinge first than read.

  • +1

Wow great deal, makes me regret my previous purchase

  • Thoughts on Biostar motherboard? would love to hear other people’s experiences

  • +1

    partpicker comparison?

  • Im trying to work out what the catch is (apart from it being a pre-built machine)

    • Looks 100% solid

  • +1

    Would appreciate anyone's thoughts if
Ryzen 5 3500X + RX 5700 XT will be good for RTS gaming at 1440p (Planning to pair with Dell S3220DGF)

Or would 7 3700X processor be a worthwhile upgrade for that?

    • +1

hey buddy see below i got you sorted ;)

    • +4

At higher resolutions the gpu would be a better upgrade than the cpu. A 3100 will perform nearly just as well as a 3600 with a 5700 xt at 1440p

    • Is this us price?

      • yep..USA pricing

        • yes I f'd it i wasn't logged int, I redid it and it came to $1449AUD but the bloke below me got less.

      • The 3600 at least is AUD.

I can't find the case nor the motherboard so I just picked some of the lower price similar product. The deal is still cheaper. (3500x could be cheaper (~$200) if bought from place like ali express though)

    • How did you get a price to display for the 3500X? I never can.

      • just search it online then custom the price tag on pcpp. To be fair it is not the most accurate way.

      • Will you be doing any deals for a prebuilt that includes the Msi 3080 Gaming X trio?

    • I admit this is a very good deal but would have preferred 3600 over 3500x. I think I build a very similar system with an Intel CPU for the same price as the above, with some minor upgrade due to the price difference. I'm looking forward to Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal to see if anyone can offer better, but the current build at this price does not tempt me enough for instant buy yet.

I need 2 PC with one future proof for 1080P with better CPU for productivity task (For someone else), and a gaming PC future proof for 4K/Raytracing (For me). My current budget can only go up to 3k6 (Since I need to spend the rest on upgrades and peripherals) so this deal does not hit that sweet spot yet. Waiting for 6800xt system to see how it fits in my budget first.

  • Being completely ignorant of PC's today, would something like this be able to play Cyberpunk 2077?

    • +1

yes easily, will just be able to do 4k gaming but not at great framerates.

      • Thanks. I have decided to go with PC rather than grabbing one of the new consoles and have been waiting for something around the $1000 mark.

    • +2

The recommended specs for the game list an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G, 12gb ram and an Nvidia Geforce gtx1060 gpu.
This PC should be well above all of those recommended parts so I think you'll be ok if you pick this one.

Only thing to watch out for is the storage space if you're new to PC building. You should add a hard drive or another SSD to expand the storage otherwise you will run out of space very quickly.

      • +1

Thanks again. I have a 500GB SSD I recently purchased for the old PC which should keep me in the green for a bit.

  • I would like to play modern games at 1080p 60hz on high settings. Would this system be overkill? (Could I get away with spending less?)

    • It's future proof for 1080.

    • +2

It would be a bit of overkill for 1080p 60hz. This would more than suffice your needs for about half the price of this one.

  • +1

    Would 3500x bottleneck 5700xt?

  • +1

You can build your own with intel parts.

    • This just goes to show how much you can dump into PC parts by upgrading each part. My build costs over 3 times as much… x_x

  • can this be built using a small case? Will buy if can

Does the 5700xt compare with the geforce 2070?

    • Interested to know also

    • +3

It's Better than RTX 2070….5700xt is similar to RTX 2070 Super in performance.

      https://www.techspot.com/review/2015-geforce-rtx-2070-super-…

      • oooo thank you

I've always favoured Geforce due to better drivers and fan noise.

        • Fan noise isn't due to either Nvidia or AMD? That's just depending on the AIB.

          • @HaveANiceDay: My last radeon card was the 260x and the fan noise on that was very loud

    • Maybe PM Luke for confirmation but it seems unlikely. Their mAtx case probably won't fit the GPU

  • +1

Is this a good deal? Itching to replace my i5-5XXX and Rx 580 for ages now. This seems pretty good bang for buck.

    • What's your build ?

You may get better bang for your buck by just upgrading individual parts instead !

      • i7-5820
        rx 580
        16gb ram
        240gb ssd

        any advice mate? thanks

        • +1

Not much of an upgrade at all. The only improvement is the graphics card which you can get for $600 on a deal fairly regularly.

Edit: that is unless you are going for the 3700X cpu upgrade. The 3500x is 6 core 6 thread, the 5820K is 6/12, and the 3700x is 8/16. Your i7 does have weaker IPC but can be comfortably overclocked.

Edit 2: found some videos comparing the 5820k overclocked to some other ryzen cpus, the OC is on par with a ryzen 5 2600, which is close to the 3500x in performance depending on use case.

  • Would this be powerful enough for photoshop editing, converting powerpoint into mp4 videos?

    • Yes, the gpu would be kinda overkill however. Photoshop would be more CPU dependent than GPU and converting a Powerpoint into an MP4 isn't really taxing.

      • Would the CPU be powerful enough for my needs (mainly photoshop).

        • As I said earlier, yes. It will be. Out of curiosity, what's your current CPU?

          • @HaveANiceDay: AMD FX™ 8350 8 core processor 4000 Mhz

It is 8 years old. I have been upgrading it and replacing parts but it is time to depart from it and buy something new ha ha ha…

Recently replaced the videocard with a nivida georce gt 710.

I don't play games but use it for work.

            • @vegemite2008: you could get something half as expensive and it will easily do it.

  • I put through an order yesterday using this deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/580916), and even though I'll end up spending more, this deal is much better value!

@luketechfast any chance of cancelling yesterday's order to get this one instead?

    • +2

Send them an email. They are usually very flexible with these requests.

      • Thank you @cheapaschips

  • Hi @luketechfast

If I don't need it built what is the estimated delivery time?

Edit: I would need delivered in a couple of weeks.

    • Iirc, it actually doesn't save you much time even if you request them not to build it.

      • Unassembled orders are picked at the same time as others in the queue but skip build and testing . You might save a couple of days. We have kicked up a few gears assembly and dispatch wise so there shouldn't be too many issues being within our general 14 business days. Faster than that I can't guarantee now it's officially silly season.

        • Ohh I see, that's interesting

        • Thanks Luke

  • Been out of the pc scene for 10 years (the last pc i built was i5 2500k), been eyeing techfast builds for the last few weeks.

Thinking of making the jump to this deal as it looks very reasonable for price vs performance, not looking for anything high end. Just casual gaming.
Should i keep waiting or just get this?

    • you built it once, should build another one ;)

      • you can ask to have it sent in parts and still retain b2b warranty.

but yeah I agree most of the fun is researching and picking parts yourself then putting them together.

  • Hey guys, this PC more than meets my gaming needs but I'm also looking to stream from it, would it be able to handle both at the same time? (COD, AC, AOE2 DE) (1080p stream, not sure on bit rate yet)

Loving the techfast deals so far as well, cheers guys

  • When I click through, it says $1399. What am I doing wrong?

    • +3

      apply code 3500X-5700XT-BFCM

      • +1

        🤦‍♂️

        Thanks

    • +1

      every single time haha

  • -3

I find the planted positive comments, especially in the immediate seconds after this deal was posted, very off-putting and against the spirit of this forum

Is this going to be Oculus Link compatible?

    • +2

Well to be fair, for anyone who doesnt know computers/doesnt want to spend time collecting parts, it IS a good deal. Its a lot better than giving a newb a PCCP list and then having them buy everything for the prices there. Anyone who is building a computer from components would have scavenged parts over the last few weeks with the 20% flash sale, etc on prime day.

      • -1

It may be a good deal but it is hard to gauge whe there are fake planted comments

    • +2

They might not be planted lol. I refresh computing often that I'm often faster than the notifications :P

and I feel like they've cemented their reputation enough for the most part with posting so many deals to ozbargain.

Although I don't understand too much on why this deal has so many more upvotes than virco's

  • I plan on overclocking the 3500x,
    1. will the Biostar B550 be able to handle it with a stock cooler? (or would I need a better moto/liquid cooler)
    2. will this void the warranty?

    • Eh, overclocking isn't worth it honestly. Doesn't really increase the performance by much.

    • +1

they will have no idea whether you overclocked it or not so no it wont void your warranty.

  • Will this system be able to do everything like surfing the net watching youtube and Facebook in 4k 60?
I don't want it for gaming. But it seems cheap enough system for me, if it does display in 4k?

    • +1

4K videos aren't based on cpu/gpu power just on the quality of the encoder/decoder on the die. With that said the encoder/decoder is quite lousy with amd GPUs I'd definitely get a nvidia card like a 1650 super.

This PC is overkill for your use case if you aren't gaming.

  • Is there an option to pick up as i know you guys are Adelaide based? Cant see an option to pick up when checking out. Thanks

    • Yep, enter LOCAL PICKUP in the Notes field during checkout, or email [email protected] with the request post purchase. You'll get notification when it's ready to collect. Shipping is paid but refunded at the time of collection.

  • +1

I mean, I'd pay for the upgrade for 3600 even if it was post-Christmas, but 🤷‍♂️

    • +1

Understood, it's hard to manage delivery time expectations for people who aren't happy to wait. We're getting a lot of 5700 XTs and the interest has been really strong so there's a good chance it will make a return around Boxing Day for 2021 delivery, in some form or another.

      • We're getting a lot of 5700 XTs and the interest has been really strong so there's a good chance it will make a return around Boxing Day for 2021 delivery, in some form or another.

luketechfast, any chance for 5600X & 5700XT that can match or perhaps even beat Virco's deal here @ $1,533?

  • Thinking of this for my son for X-Mas, he plays games like

    COD - Black Ops 2
    Battlefield
    Rust
    Apex legends
    GTA 5

He's currently using my system which is a i5-8600k with a GTX 1070 8GB, so I'm assuming here that this Tech Fast system would be ok for his needs?

    Also any recommended upgrades?

    • -1

honestly for those games no need to upgrade

      • Sorry, my bad. I'd be keeping my system and would be looking at this deal for him.

Would definitely be adding more HDD space.
