      At higher resolutions the gpu would be a better upgrade than the cpu. A 3100 will perform nearly just as well as a 3600 with a 5700 xt at 1440p

    I can't find the case nor the motherboard so I just picked some of the lower price similar product. The deal is still cheaper. (3500x could be cheaper (~$200) if bought from place like ali express though)

      I admit this is a very good deal but would have preferred 3600 over 3500x. I think I build a very similar system with an Intel CPU for the same price as the above, with some minor upgrade due to the price difference. I'm looking forward to Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal to see if anyone can offer better, but the current build at this price does not tempt me enough for instant buy yet.

      I need 2 PC with one future proof for 1080P with better CPU for productivity task (For someone else), and a gaming PC future proof for 4K/Raytracing (For me). My current budget can only go up to 3k6 (Since I need to spend the rest on upgrades and peripherals) so this deal does not hit that sweet spot yet. Waiting for 6800xt system to see how it fits in my budget first.

      The recommended specs for the game list an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G, 12gb ram and an Nvidia Geforce gtx1060 gpu.
      This PC should be well above all of those recommended parts so I think you'll be ok if you pick this one.

      Only thing to watch out for is the storage space if you're new to PC building. You should add a hard drive or another SSD to expand the storage otherwise you will run out of space very quickly.

          Not much of an upgrade at all. The only improvement is the graphics card which you can get for $600 on a deal fairly regularly.

          Edit: that is unless you are going for the 3700X cpu upgrade. The 3500x is 6 core 6 thread, the 5820K is 6/12, and the 3700x is 8/16. Your i7 does have weaker IPC but can be comfortably overclocked.

          Edit 2: found some videos comparing the 5820k overclocked to some other ryzen cpus, the OC is on par with a ryzen 5 2600, which is close to the 3500x in performance depending on use case.

      Yes, the gpu would be kinda overkill however. Photoshop would be more CPU dependent than GPU and converting a Powerpoint into an MP4 isn't really taxing.

        Unassembled orders are picked at the same time as others in the queue but skip build and testing . You might save a couple of days. We have kicked up a few gears assembly and dispatch wise so there shouldn't be too many issues being within our general 14 business days. Faster than that I can't guarantee now it's officially silly season.

      Well to be fair, for anyone who doesnt know computers/doesnt want to spend time collecting parts, it IS a good deal. Its a lot better than giving a newb a PCCP list and then having them buy everything for the prices there. Anyone who is building a computer from components would have scavenged parts over the last few weeks with the 20% flash sale, etc on prime day.

      4K videos aren't based on cpu/gpu power just on the quality of the encoder/decoder on the die. With that said the encoder/decoder is quite lousy with amd GPUs I'd definitely get a nvidia card like a 1650 super.

      This PC is overkill for your use case if you aren't gaming.

      Understood, it's hard to manage delivery time expectations for people who aren't happy to wait. We're getting a lot of 5700 XTs and the interest has been really strong so there's a good chance it will make a return around Boxing Day for 2021 delivery, in some form or another.

    He's currently using my system which is a i5-8600k with a GTX 1070 8GB, so I'm assuming here that this Tech Fast system would be ok for his needs?
