  • Cheap shipping. Love Panasonic plasmas. I just look at my older one and just sigh - gotta move out of a small apartment block so true surround with nice screen can bring out their full (loud) potential!!

    • That's not a good price for the Samsung. It was 699 + delivery last week.

I think you are missing my point.

        • Your point, I presume, is that there are better TVs out there for the price? I think that's a bit subjective, and this particular line of Panas gets pretty good reviews. The best reported price for this TV on whirlpool is $970 pickup, so $1068 isn't a terrible price at all.

I agree, though, that for this kind of money I'd go to a 50-60" Pana for not that much more.

  • No 3d glasses. How much is a pair?

yeh most people do go price and size over quality no doubt about that….its a shame though because the Panasonic GT kills the other plasmas mentioned in side by side comparisons

  • So… Plasma = high-energy cost, right?

I'd add-in the extra cost of electricity to run this puppy,
allowing for coming price-rise(s) in electricity prices.

It's your carbon footprint, not mine… I choose LCD -ONLY-
to save both $$ and my CO2 output.

    No deal to me…

High energy cost?? A bit of perspective here bud. The average Plasma will cost about 12c a day more to run than the equivalent LCD. High? I love these people who take the moral high ground with good old CO2, when they likely own dishwashers, dryers, large refrigerators, big cars(SUVs etc), hifi equipment and many other non-essential domestic items.

Carbon footprint with plasma TVs? Pfft.. c'mon. The media never fails to sway the ill-informed.

      • I was with you right up til this point:

hifi equipment and many other non-essential domestic items

HiFi gear…non-essential…demz sir is fightin' words! :p

Panasonic plasma beats LCD in PQ hands down. Also newer plasmas aren't very power hungry

    • Right and right again.

      • Not 100% accurate Marto, stick them both in a bright room & watch that 'true black' playing field get levelled pronto! ;)

if you have solar panels though its ok
