27013

Summer is coming, so to look your best make sure you grab one of these bad boys. Not only will it be fashionable and trendy; it will keep the harmful UV rays whilst out and about.

For only $1 more, Why not combo it with the FRAKTA Bag and make it a fashion statement of 2020!

Mod note: Description on Ikea website makes no claims about protection from UV rays specifically, just states "Provides protection from the sun and rain"

    The price… only ones dignity

    • lol

    • +1

Please. This is OzBargain - where one's dignity is ALWAYS going cheap!

    • +1

      You're kidding me right?
This is Ozbargain. A place people frequent to find and buy things they hardly need. Dignity is about honour and respect. I would suggest that there is no honour or respect in the endless, needless consumption.

will this protect me from 5G? lol

  • More wasteful as a plastic novelty, rather than useful and longlasting…

Member of Flying Spaghetti Monster movement also known as Pastafarianism. If you do not understand, please Google

  • Ironic how Ikea virtue signals about the environment and then sells a hat that will likely end up in landfill, or even worse, waterways.
If this material is anything like the typical version of polypro it is possible that it’s going to release micro-plastics for years, and if it’s not coated/treated there is a chance it could be releasing those particles in to the skin of the wearer.

    • Ikea virtue signals

This is called marketing. It's a company whose primary mission is to maximize profits, and this type of behaviour is not unexpected.

  • +1

got this bad boy for ozbargain fashion week

  • +2

I note that some of the people hating on this hat on the basis that it will degrade over time and potentially not afford 100% protection have previously up-voted trucker cap designs with MESH at the back half of the cap and have no rear brim whatsoever. 🤦‍♂️

    • I have not upvoted hats

More so if it's long term hoping I'll pick one up refunded ones in the Bargain Bin corner later for like a $1 :P

It's like Bunnings merch - I wouldn't actually mind getting some for the gimmick but some of it is a bit pricey for what it is. (got the straw hat though!)

    • The cordory hat for $8-$10 is legit.

  • Should have named it Dedorka or Dumhatt.

  • +1

It also makes for a tiny Ikea carry bag, if you just need to pick up a few small salt and pepper shakers and things.

Appears to be normal price, and provides virtually no protection from the sun. Ugly af too.

    • +2

      Guaranteed to preserve ones virginity.

Great for social distancing also as no one will want to go near you. Not even members of your own family.

      • +1

Your reflection will run away too

    • -1

and provides virtually no protection from the sun.

      Explain.

      • +1

Seriously? The wider the brim, the more shade your face will receive. This hat might protect bald people from getting their scalp burnt, but in terms of shading the face and neck, well, clearly it's not going to do a very good job, is it?

  • Does it need an Allen key to fit it?
