Comes down to $6.75 per cartridge. Lowest I can find around at the moment.

Well, I can taste the difference so it might vary from people. I'm with city west water though.
Have you measured TDS? I'd be curious to see if it's higher than Yarra Valley Water.
I get around 55 total dissolved solids and no change after these filters. I've used them on very hard water ~480 TDS and it drops by about 40, but still tastes really bad. Only thing that worked in that scenario was a reverse osmosis system.
Each to their own, if it makes your water taste better, then go for it.
Why would anybody buy a proprietary filter system?
Just get a filter that takes standard 250mm cartridges, and don't be screwed over ever again.
I went and had a look. I prefer a jug system rather than under sink and the bench top models seem rather large.
I guess I will continue with a proprietary filter system that I can get knockoffs at Kmart if I prefer.
If only we can travel more than 5km, I would get this from Costco.
Hopefully, we will be able to do that soon.
You can travel more than 5km to visit a partner or "bubble buddy". So in the extremely unlikely event you were stopped, you could use one of these excuses. I say extremely unlikely because I've driven around Melb and i can tell you the 5km rule is barely being enforced.
I hope they catch you before the lockdown is lifted.
Catch me doing what?
You're far more likely to get caught at Costco, they have unmarked cars checking plates. They're not always there and you probably won't get caught, but if you do, there's no way you're going to get away from an exorbitant fine.
Are you saying they have cops parked at the entrance to Costco scanning the plates as people go in and leave the car park? Sounds far fetched to me.
@AussieZed: I've seen cop cars there, lots of people on Facebook Costco group saying the same thing. Why would it seem far fetched?
eBay has 12 for $62 which is cheaper
Awesome. Thank You. Need a new one and my kids drink a lot of water!
Mind posting the url to the item please?
Knock off yes. Not the originals from Germany.
Please be aware of non genuine. I had searched on eBay too.
My bad. Just checked eBay again and the ones I found are not genuine brita.
can anyone shed some light on how does the timer work?? does it measure how much water filtered or just counting days/hours?
No it doesn't. It just based on time, which is 4 weeks. I don't use the timer myself, just write down the replacement date with sticky notes on the fridge. Based on my usage calculation, I need to replace this every 6 weeks as there is only 2 of us in the house.
Was on clearance for $45 for 6 pack last week at my local Coles.
These filters don't do anything for me in Melbourne, TDS remains unchanged and taste is the same.
