    This won't end well…

    • +2

      Only for the 1 percenters

      • that's a generous 1% you have there…

        • +1

          I stand corrected… 0.001%ers

      • I was lucky enough to score one. Go to the deal and it will take you to the eBay listing. It said out of stock, but I added it to my watchlist. Then just keep checking periodically. I got mine around 11.35am.

    • +14

      Complete waste of time.

    • +3

For those who are going to give it a shot… Just a heads up on how you could possible save even more…

This morning during the 10am drop, I managed to get the Airpods into my cart and apply the promo code. I also managed to enter an eBay gift card (from Woolies deal) and apply it to the order. I obviously was unsuccessful at purchasing, but had everything set up for the afternoon. By the 2pm drop, everything was lined up and manged to score a pair for an additional 10% off… so roughly $90. Same logic could be applied to this iPad deal to bring the cost to roughly just under $300.

    • Can someone please let me know if there'll be any further ipads made available? From what I can tell, they incorrectly dumped the balance at 11.45 and that may mean the quota is now exhausted?

I was hitting refresh constantly from 11.50 onwards and none were made available.

      • +1

They accidentally dropped the rest of the available stock at ~11:45pm. So nothing appeared for the 12pm Drop and the 2pm/4pm has been pulled (Showing as "This deal is SOLD OUT" on the eBay Plus Daily Deals Page)

    • You are the man, saw it all through.

    • You were 100% correct

  • +35

    Waste of time

    • I knew this was a waste of time lol

  • its end of June now.. see you guys again after 3 months for the Airpods

    • there's another ebay plus sale in 3 months?

      • -2

        APS and BFS.

        • APS? I figured BFS is Black Friday sale, but what the heck? do people actually shorten it like that?
BFS is more commonly abbreviated for breadth first search (its a computational algorithm)

          • @skido: Amazon Prime Sale in September and ebay will have more items on sale to compete with Amazon.

            • @KOBH: Ebay is probably going to snooze on all its Plus members until next year. They basically splurged on this month's deals (express shipping, daily deals) and probably went over budget with the massive AirPods fail (in which they rightfully honoured).

            • +1

@KOBH: It's actually Amazon Prime Day

    • +2

You must have scored a few?

  • +47

This should be under competitions section…

    • +2

      funny and totally agreed.

  • +1

How many inches is the screen?

    • +2

      10.2"

    • -5

How many inches can you see?

      • +3

        Mate I wasn't sure if 2019 model was 9.7" or 10.2" that's all. I don't know what u are on about.

  • why are you guys dissing?

    • +7

      Limited stock.

    • +1

      Unicorn deal.

  • +1

    Another day another eBay competition

  • it would be the last deal in this month.

  • Anyone know who the seller is and the url link for the product?

    • its probably this one

      • that one is not even AU stock though

      • Can't be that seller. It'll be a new listing before 10am.

    • +1

      Probably iot.hub grey import

      • They don't sell ipad atm. Maybe they have stock tomorrow morning.

    • link?

  • Around $150 less

    • Exactly $200 less mate

      • +3

Street price is $499 (officeworks et. Al.)

  • +1

I already bought the Samsung A 10.1". Looks like I'm gonna have two tablets.. :/

    • Haters gonna hate 😂

    • 10.1 is smaller than ipad too long

  • They should also do a deal like 1,000 of something so that they finish on a good note.

    • +1

another $0.99 deals would be amazing

    • There are still plenty of nappies and dog flea tablets on the main promo page.

  • Might have a chance if they put 400 units at 10am.

  • +2

These units get snapped up within seconds by bots.

    • do you have a source on how this works? like, the world of bots monitoring prices at eBay or something?

      • +5

No idea sorry, Christopher Pyne isn't very good with technology.

        • +2

          He's a fixer!

        • +1

          Christoper piiiiiiiiine

    • Unless bots are on NBN then humans win.

  • +13

    32gb in 2020

    • It's ok for face time and browsing Ozbargain site.

    • +9

Even the Amish go with the 128gb version.

      • +1

        Hahaha!

    • Good for p@rnhub

    • Well apple thinks 32gb is enough.

    • It's actually less than that… try again next time!

    • I've got a 32gb iPad and I don't even notice its storage capacity. I think that in 2020 that's even easier than in a few years ago, with so many cloud-based services and entertainment.

  • +2

32gb? Sorry, not worth it. I like iPads but this is landfill

    • Landfill with a tax deduction!

      • Will be hard justifying to ato how an iPad is a tax deduction. Scratching my head here as work supplies the laptop.

        • +2

Well if you use it predominately for work purposes that should be fine - especially when it is otherwise serving the honourable purpose of a paperweight. eg. 90% idle and 10% for work = 100% deduction

          • @FutureTech: So, does it mean i can still claim tax deduction on this ipad even though i was already supplied with a work laptop?

    • It's fine if you just use it for streaming content and browsing the web. 32GB is enough for the apps you might want to install. It's def not enough if you want to store data on the iPad like photos or movies.

These should not be posted as deals. If you can't reliably get one within a reasonable timeframe, what you are looking at is a promotion/competition. We should start classifying them as such.

    • +1

      • can you share your magic please.. need 1 thanks

      • Tell us more

      • +1

What? eBay snipers hate this one trick?

      • +2

What happens if 101 people know what they're doing? Can they reliably get one each?

        • +2

dont be absurd… there are may be 3 people who know what they are doing… they do have 97 bots between them but thats beyond the point

    • +6

Yep, agreed. If there are rules for insufficient quantity and unobtainable deal, surely this qualifies

    • +4

I echo this sentiment. It shouldn’t be a luck of the draw to obtain a bargain otherwise it’s just a competition. Unlucky that eBay plus is basically an entry for raffles like this every few months. I’ve participated and won but not always so, I’m gonna neg this to discourage this sort of thing being posted as a deal

      • I disagree. These eBay offers are no different to any other sale. A lot of sales have a set quantity availability, whether it's due to stock levels or some other limiting factor. The only difference here is that the availability is known. The steeper discounts naturally results in more people attempting to purchase. I do think there should eBay should do something about the new trial account loophole though.

    • +3

Unable to get the AirPods after attempting almost every-time. These deals are a joke.

      • I bought a pair of Airpods this year. And a Samsung T5 1TB SSD for $100 last year. So you can definitely get the deals. You just have to be poised to pounce at one minute to the hour and keep trying throughout the day on each drop.

    • -2

Err just because its limited stock doesn't mean its not a deal lmfao…

If they didn't announce the stock qty would you say differently?

Do you think other stores have unlimited stock quantities of their products…?

      Stupid comment is stupid.

      • It takes two seconds to see beneath the vernier of the "deal" - if you subsidise a product by N$ for Y items to get a lot of attention with a very small amount of sales - it's called advertising

    • timeframe is reasonable just apple products are always a competition.

  • whats the rrp? so many ipad models
