I've been on the hunt for monitors for a few weeks and even now, I still don't understand why some are priced such significantly with similar specs, e.g. Q27q-10 $359.20, P27q-20 $527.20, specs comparison looks near identical.

Anyway, this looks like a good deal to me, 27 inch QHD so should be sufficient good to look at, released mid August last year, so still pretty new

You need to scroll down to see the differences

the more expensive ones have more inputs and outputs
They also have height adjustment and can be rotated into Portrait orientation.

I have these at work. The more expensive P/Q-H models focused more for business users ergonomics with multi monitors.
The H range almost acts like a docking station with one USB C cable handling display/charging and virtual NIC

  • I'm guessing these wouldn't do Freesync/G-Sync at 144Hz?

    • best is 75Hz for the Q27Q

      • i got a Acer 144hz yesterday at the good guys for $299

        • +1

I'd love 144Hz, but I need photo editing quality first and gaming has to take 2nd priority :(

        • @REnvilo that should be 24.5 inch this is 27 inches.

        • I'm guessing at that price, it was FHD and not QHD

To save y'all the effort of googling:

    It's an IPS panel.
    No height adjustment.
    No pivot.
    No swivel.
    100 x 100mm VESA mount.

good price atm but far out i can't believe 27" 2K monitors are still north of $350 :/

    • Is this really 2k? It's 2 point something I guess

      • -1

It's actually 1440p, but people commonly refer to them as 2k. Why? I don't know.

        • -3

Yes, 2k is incorrect. 2k is the same as FHD, but some muppets keep referring to them as 2k

          • @Jackson: 2k is same as FHD?

            • +2

@[Deactivated]: Close enough. FHD/1080p is 1920x1080. I don't think "2k" is a standard resolution, some industry group defines it as 2048x1080 but loosely it's anything with approx 2000pixels in width.

              • @DeToxin: It depends. In filming, it has… kind of… but there's differing versions of it… so not really a universal standard like what 1080p is.

A lot of what you see in digital cinema is 2k…. obviously unless it's 4k or film. Typically it'll have a screen ratio of 2.31:1. It doesn't really translate well to normal TV sets so you don't usually see it outside cinema/film discussions.

But yeah, as you said, it's pretty much close enough to 1080p.

    • The 165hz ones are almost $1000…

  • Okay, done.

  • I would rather get:
    Kogan KAMN34QUSA 34" WQHD 75hz (3440x1440) $449

    • +6

I would not buy any Kogan monitor lol

      • and why is that

        • -1

I light of no better answer, brand snobbery?

    • +7

That’s just a VA panel. This IPS should be more superior in colour production…if you’re a creator doing creative work.

      • If you're doing serious creative work, you're likely spending a lot more on a monitor than this, and with something that has better sRGB and AdobeRGB coverage,

  • Damnit. I got one of these 3 weeks ago, at full price. :(

    Not a bad monitor.

  • Yeah just pulled the trigger, seems decent, wish there were more in-depth reviews, but tired of waiting.

  • Damn this is a great deal for the price. I recently got an ACER 27 inch with Full HD only(165hz refresh though) for $379.

  • Does anyone know the difference between the this monitor and the Lenovo L27q-30?

Seems like better colour accuracy and FreeSync but with no speaker?

  • How about Viewsonic VX3276-2K? Much bigger, same resolution and is IPS. $379 https://www.ple.com.au/Products/632148/ViewSonic-VX3276-2K-3…

    • The Viewsonic 2K was $262 a while back.

  • What about colors & panels bleed?
I'm tempting to get Benq monitor, but damn this price is good
    https://www.amazon.com.au/BENQ-PD2700Q-2560x1440-Height-Adju… ?

  • Just ran out of stock. Rip

  • No USB ports on this monitor is annoying

  • +1

This is back in stock now - just purchased.

  • Does the bottom bezel take away the screen estate VS P27q?

  • Received mine just then :)
Will report back with thoughts once I have time to set it up.

    • Did they update the eBay page to show it’s shipped?

      • EBay order says "paid but not sent" with est delivery 15-16th Jun.
However received a shipping confirmation email directly from Lenovo 2 days ago.
Now the struggle to try to find the best settings for this thing, try freesync with a nvidia card, and see if overclocking without frame skipping is possible. (if anyone reads this and has advice please chime in)

    • +2

Settings I'm settling for, for now:
      Brightness: 100
      Contrast: 50
      DCR: off
      Display Mode: Standard
      Scaling: Full Screen
      Overdrive: Normal
      Colour: Custom: 100R, 100G, 100B
      Low Blue Light: off

Overclocking it even 1hz higher causes an "input not supported" text box to float around and then the monitor turns off after a while.
However, frame skipping doesn't seem to occur at 80hz, but I'll be leaving mine at 75 due to this restriction and not knowing how worthwhile trying to find a workaround might be.

      • Do you have an update on settings?

        • Nah sorry mate, haven't played around with it. This has been working for me, but keen to hear what others are liking.
