  • wow

  • Really good deal! Thanks!

  • Looks to be a Super deal - but I don't think it's "today only" - but it appears you can get it today 4th Sep, even though it says it's on sale from 5th September?!

Also, you don't have to pay the full price when you buy it, just $199 deposit to secure it, and balance will be charged on 1 May 2012 = money in your pocket for longer.

Devils advocate in me is also thinking, we can't be sure what the value is - ie this year (2011) the season pass may have been $1,499 and a day ticket $109, but could it be that they will be dropping their prices next year? Highly unlikley, but just something to think of before assuming it is a great deal. Also - gotta hope there will be snow!! (but you've got a whole season to get use out of it, so should be fine)

  • Whats included in freedom pass? Couldnt find a comparison on their website.

It's a full season pass. Check out the FAQ's

Is the Freedom Pass valid every day of the 2012 season?

Yes and includes all Night Skiing nights and access to the Night Park.

      • no skitube though (not a big deal), as you can season pass on its own.

above price is the cheapest I've seen in many years… 7 day pass is like almost $600, so for $700 and you get a whole season- W O W!

        great post OP.

        • you can add ski tube for only 60 on top. i just wish it had lessons.

  • For someone who has never skied before, is this a good thing to purchase to waste away an entire fortnight/month to learn? :D

    • Yes, definately. After a season you'll be pro*

*considering you put in the effort

It's the cheapest pass for any more than 10 or so days on the slopes, but just about everything else down there is far from cheap.

      • Yeah, keep in mind you're still up for accommodation, transport, food, clothes (hire or buy) and equipment costs. It just ties you into a bigger commitment. Plus beginners often get tired after a week so just keep in mind whether you would actually use it or could get better value from a shorter pass.

        • I agree with odysseus. From a value perspective and more importantly a fun perspective you might consider somewhere learner friendly like Mount Selwyn. Some reasons why Perisher charges more for lift tickets is because it has more runs, lifts, personel and machinery to maintain. Most learners will not use the black runs for various reasons (eg. requires T-bar). Season pass is good if you are an adventurous learner or have serious goals.

    • Just something to consider…if you plan to take ski lessons, the cost of the lift for the day is included in the price of the lesson and Perisher does not discount the price if you already have a season pass.

That's a good deal - I was about to rip into it because I thought it was for the current (almost over) season!

  • You can't go past this for Students. Spend four days on the slopes and you've made it worth it.

  • Are these passes transferable?

How does one take advantage of this deal living in Sydney? Perisher valley is 6 hours drive from here.

    • +1

Get in the car and drive! You could do a weekend early in the season, a week in July/August and maybe a weekend late season, and you should well cover the cost of the pass. If you go any more times than this, you'll be in front.

The deal also has discounted accommodation at The Station Resort FROM $79 per night. Not certain if this is the same rooms they were offering for $99 for MyRide members where you could sleep upto 6 people in the one room or not, but possibly is.

  • just purchased. threw in a $60 ski tube pass too.

    fantastic deal!

  • wow this is a bargain! time to upgrade my board (and hopefully my skills too)
