You have to sign up using the app to use iTunes credit as payment
To further clarify, you have to have the app on a device that is using an Apple ID.
So, an Apple device.Once you have done that though your Disney+ account would use the credit on that Apple ID no matter what device you are using.
I have done this with Apple Music, Netflix, Prime and now Disney+

Scammers get about 70% of the money back by loading the gift card into their account and making In App Purchases through one of their apps the scammers have made. Apple won't do anything to stop or remove the scammers fake App. Apple are complicit in the scam. Google are the same by allowing scammers to create fake Apps that allow IAP. Apple and Google take about a 30% cut of the scam.
