    My favourite microwave restaurant woohoo.

    • -1

      Why would you say that?

Kindly provide source for your information .
      Thanks.

      • +4

100% microwave restaurant. Try ordering different items on the menu, some may be cooked fresh like the Rotis. But the curries and the nasi lemaks etc are all microwave. At least at Mac Centre, i dont think these restaurants were always that way but maybe Mac Centre has been. The other ones i have been to was a long time ago so i am unsure if they were like that. At least when i first went to them i dont think they were like that.

        • Thanks Champion

      • +4

I asked (the waiter) why my chicken was still frozen and was told (by the waiter) that they must a bit bigger pieces that usual and may need longer in the microwave …

        Hope that clarifies.

      • +2

I worked there for a bit. Not all their items are microwaved but somethings are microwaved for a bit and then fried at the end.

All the noodle dishes and rotis are freshly made.

        • I always order the fried kway teow, no bean sprouts and it's always freshly cooked 😁

Does anyone just install/uninstall apps as needs? I find there are way too many apps… not every cafe/shop needs one.

    • -1

Yeah it's hard to keep track of them all – almost as bad as the old loyalty card method. I have heaps of free space on my phone though, so I just keep them in a folder – I've found I often forget to install the app prior to ordering

    • +5

Nowadays, every time I connect to WiFi, there are at least 10 loyalties app that will need updates.

      • +1

Yeah well the cost of a well built simple food/cafe app nowadays is fairly low if you know where to look. And with the rise of cloud infra, it's really cheap to maintain with auto scaling as well. The benefits of pushing out notifications to your customers as well as their info far outweigh the cost really.

    • +2

I just uninstall after the promotion.

      KTHXBYE

      • For some apps like this one, deleting is okay, but it's inconvenient for cafes/shops that have digitised their loyalty cards, where you earn points for purchasing (e.g. Mad Mex, Pattysmiths, Spud Bar, Sumosalad). If I'm already lining up to purchase something, I'd always prefer to earn the points…

Does anyone know if this works with the Amex shopsmall promo?

    • Does Amex shop small have it in the list?

    • -1

Papa rich is definitely NOT a small business.

      • Papa Rich is on the Shopsmall promo. i just got the $10 credit. Please do not dribble before you have done the research.

  • -1

    Min spend?

  • +2

What would be the best thing to buy around $5?

    • +5

MF15 teh tarik HOT or MF18 cold

      • -1

        What's that?

        • +1

The best thing to buy around $5.

        • Teh = Tea
          Tarik = Pulled

      • Sorry it was MF19 at $4.95 and perfect for today. Iced tea tarik…dude didn't want to give it to me because it was dine in only…

  • What is the T&C? Tried the link and their website but found nothing. Keen to "optimise" this deal

    • The T&C's are in the app when you apply the code to your account. I've updated the deal

  • +5

Fried chicken skin for lunch 🐔 🐣

  • +8

this place is rip of central … their pricing has risen so much and you are getting less than before..

    • +14

How else is pappa gonna get rich?

      • +3

You not gonna get rich by charging more and giving less… he's gonna be Pappas poor

        • +1

          Oh please… Pappa don't Preach.

  • +1

Fair deal. going to give this a go.

  • +2

    Mamak is better

  • This isnt a deal at all.

They are selling restaurant vouchers on Groupon for more than 20%.

Not to mention cashback and special sitewide discount with groupon.

Well, unless you eat alone and only order a single dish.

    • +8

Eating alone and ordering a single dish is called “lunch” for many people.

      • Yup!

  • +6

$5 would take a bottle of coke off your bill

  • +5

For not much more than $5, I can fly to Malaysia and have proper Malaysian food…

    • +1

Wow. Best you share THAT deal with us.

    • It would cost you more than a grand to have malay food.😏

  • +3

    Crazy Rich Pappa.

  • Enter BLACK5DAY into your …??

  • Where do you put the code in the app??

    • +1

Member tab > Gifts > Enter promo code

      • Oo thanks. Free 3 layer tea for me 😁

        • My pleasure!

  • +3

Would almost be worth it if the food was edible! :D

  • +1

    Disappointed the code isn't CUTMYLIFEINTOPIECES

    • came here to say.

  • +3

not worth it. overpriced even after the $5 discount for a meal.

    • +1

Since I'm already nearby, I'm just going to get a chicken curry puff and garlic naan, which will be around the $5 mark

      • no takeaway though…unless you're really dining in with those? hmm..

        • +1

What’s wrong with dining in with those?

  • Thank Q

    • Glad to help!

      • +1

        Thank you itsfree(realestate)

        • Thank you for the chuckle! :D

  • yeah but, this place is terrible…

  • The food quantity has dropped over the last couple of years. The chicken laksa used to have many chicken slices, but now it comes with two or three tiny ones.
Curry chicken meal comes with a small Rati and 4/5 tiny pieces of curry chickens. They didn't increase their price a lot(they are over-priced though), but they certainly have dropped the quantity.

    • +2

It doesn't even feel like real chicken, it's some kind of processed chicken cake.

  • +2

I ate the laksa on little Collins Street. Tasted horrible.

  • +3

The worst was when my colleague ordered an apple juice with NO ice, and so they added $1.50 to that. WTF, PappaRich?!

  • Big deal ? $5 discount ? Keep it to yourself Pappa !

  • $5 is all well and good, but that's bugger all considering most main dishes are like $15 or more! Especially only 1 per table allowed too..meh..

  • Don’t waste money there. I’m sure some foodcourt cheaper laksa better than theirs

  • I'm at the parramatta one and the only thing I've seen under $5 here is the boiled eggs )':

    • There are a few drinks that are around $5, as well as the dumplings…

      • There were like two drinks under 5. The dumplings were $5.20

        • I think 20¢ extra counts as "around $5" ;)

  • +1

Got a free iced Kopi ($4.90)👍
