Is the P30 a decent replacement?
Depends what you are already using. These don’t have much of a bezel so aren’t physically as big as I expected.
Using an Lg G6 at the moment and need to change. Having massive issues. Doing a factory reset on it over the weekend and if no improvement it will need the flick
1mm narrower? I think it hardly makes any difference. The only significant advantage from P30 over Mate 20Pro that I can see is the 3.5mm jack
P30 is 6.1 inch. You might be confused with the P30 Pro
I believe that the concern is more with the phone's size than its screen-size - whether your thump can reach the other side edge of the screen. For this, the phone's width is significant.
P30: 149.1 x 71.4 x 7.6 mm (5.87 x 2.81 x 0.30 in)
Mate 20 Pro: 157.8 x 72.3 x 8.6 mm (6.21 x 2.85 x 0.34 in)
P30 Pro: 158.0 x 73.4 x 8.4 mm (6.22 x 2.89 x 0.33 in)
The Pro ones (Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro) are about 1cm longer than the P30, so reaching the top of the screen might be more difficult. But, I don't think you can reach the top of the screen even with a 5" phone.
Bit the bullet for the pro
The International Mate20 Pros (These ones) don't have google feed unlike the optus (and other local provider) branded ones (but have dual sim)
So if you can live without the targeted advertising "news feed" then they are a fantastic phone for this price.
