  • I need a pressure cooker and a TV, should I look elsewhere? Anyone with real world experience on their current models?

We have an older kogan tv, kaled40, and pq is pretty crap, but watchable.

    I'm thinking I need a hisense r6 or r7

    • Also in need of a slow cooker myself. I'll probably pop into Kmart and grab a $20 one.

      • Pressure cooker is different to a slow cooker, although most pressure cookers can also slow cook (need a glass lid)

$20 is a solid deal for a slow cooker from Kmart though

I bought a good quality stove-top pressure cooker more than a decade ago. It’s still like new after extensive use. Really, the only thing that can go wrong is the seal, and that’s easily replaced.

There’s little advantage to electric pressure cookers, as they’re only in use for 20 minutes at most. Just get a good quality stove-top one (with multiple locking mechanisms for safety and steam release for convenience) and it will last a lifetime.

It seems Hisense r7 is the go, waiting for a good price on 65" +

      • Thanks, i have my eye on that

I just had to involve fair trade in a dispute with Kogan over their smart tvs not being smart and not able to run Netflix. Shop elsewhere is my recommendation. They make a lot of claims that are total crap.

I'm fairly sure it's been repeated here a million times here but dont buy cheap smart tv's, the kogan "dumb" tv's on the other hand aren't a bad buy when paired with a chromecast/vodafone tv.

        • I got a Kogan “dumb” TV with a tuner that introduced subtle but infuriating artifacts (not signal issues - just weird artifacts when decoding a DVB stream with good signal quality).

As a panel it’s fine, but it’s dubious as a “TV”.

    • I bought the 9 in one Kogan Pressure Cooker a while back and had no problems with it. Although it does 9 things I have only used it to saute and then Pressure Cook or Slow Cook. I am happy with it.

Same for me… is it excluded?

      • probably. Its working for 20000 mah ones & 15000 mah ones though.

    • same here…

  • spooky mansion board game sold out

  • Hmm, one of the air fryers from here or the cheapie Kmart one …

Kogan seem to be stocking more brands of them too from when I last saw ages back so no idea about any of them

    • I'd guess they're equivalent, but I'd go KMART for the much easier returns policy

      • Just saw Aldi have an Air Fryer special buy coming up. I might hop on that one as being a level up from the barebones Kmart one but still easy to return if it goes faulty.
        Nice timing hehe

  • Ah finally grabbed that blue switch keyboard. I was so close to buying yesterday heh.

    • Which switches should I choose?

How long is a piece of string?

      • Blues for satisfying but somewhat annoying clicky-ness

      • Red for less resistant/fastest. So good for gaming.
Blues or brown for typing as you won't misstap keys. But while reds are sensitive, you adjust over time to the amount of pressure needed and I don't make mistakes anymore. So I've gone from blues to browns to reds permanently. Yes I've tried Kogans keyboard, logitech and razer.

      • Buckling spring switches :)

    • What's good about it? I need one but haven't looked into keyboards and prices.

  • Thanks, just got the wife some shoes. 40% off (eofystyle) and free shipping. and I'm in the good books.!
