The LG 65 OLED is also down to $2300 ish, ripper price. After seeing OLED and the rest side by side, there no way I'll be buy anything else.

  • wonder how it compares to the sony and samsung tvs picture wise

86" and IPS panel is most likely a bad combination.. I seriously considered this TV but I couldn't find any positive reviews. One owner review of the $14K 2017 model stated that FTA was fine but watching movies was atrocious as you could see light bleed and all the panel uniformity issues in the top and bottom black bars.

I question whether standard definition content would look good or pixelated. I guess it would depend how far away you sit, which kind of defeats the purpose.

      • What SD content are you (or anyone) watching these days?

Good bargain. Though it's too small.

  • The 84" Samsung is way better in image and screen then the LG 86".

    • Hi, which Samsung is it?

      • The $9999.99 one of course. Have you been living in a cave?!

        • The LG have not had a good run with their larger screen of 75"+…

          • @chuneeperformance: Lol I know. Just a joke. Any LG IPS with RGBW matrix is ought to be bad. You get what you paid for.

          • @chuneeperformance: In 2012-2013 I had two of their 60inchers and tl;dr they couldn't guarantee any sort of manufacturing quality at that size, at the time. Every single LCD problem was at least medium-severity if not worse, on TWO of their TVs I had.

  • Awee this is awsome. So cheap! So big!!

  • LG, I heard they use the same LCD panel as Kogan.

    • +5

      Kogan claims the exact reverse.

  • Nice! how much maximum can u pay in eBay gift cards ?

    • +1

thats so last decade…current norm for sydney apartment is match box sized..u wake up

Good price if you are after this size.
During Boxing Day sale I had a choice between this or the Samsung 82”, both were ~$4200. Luckily both TV’s were positioned side by side at Harvey Norman and the Samsung was far superior in image quality.
Sacrificed 4” for better blacks :)

    • +4

And here I thought most go black for the extra inches…

  • Damn….. Wish it was 87"… Just a perfect size for My lounge… Lol… Good price but yeah not so good reviews… I'm keeping my money for 75" … Either lg sk8000 or Samsung nu8000 or Sony x85f…

    • Which of those are best of the were the same price?

      • I preferred the Samsung in a side by side

        • Nu8000 is also better than some x85?

          • @hippyhippy: IMO no, just.
            X85 > NU8000 > SK8000.

The Sony X90 leaves them all for dead though if you can afford it.

  • Good deal. However spending this much id go projector and get 100"+ screen if you can fit in your room

Currently building a new house and will be putting a 133" screen In it.

    • I hear you… but… you will need a really expensive projector to watch at midday on a sunny day whereas this TV will just work in any conditions…

      • Or you design the cinema room to have a smaller window facing a shaded area of the house and a blackout blind ;)

I hear you though. The 3500 lumen ones are good, and still no more than $1500.
