“Say Goodbye to Slow Smart Devices! Our Non-Smart TV Adapts to Your Pace” ummmmmm

Well it's true, non smart tv have less input lag and don't start lagging after 12 months

Hello DVD players and Blockbuster videos

    • +14

Well yeah you can plug in anything you want. Some might plug in a media device & turn it into a smart tv.

      • +3

Right on. Mighty fetch tv box.

I have one of these in my pool area with a shield connected to it - works perfectly. Sound in a little tinny as expected, but sound bar sorted that out

Y'all laughing but have we forgot how God awful the experience is on all but the absolute latest name brand smart TVs?

My last half a dozen or so teles are "smart" and the smartest thing I ever did was turn off it's internet and turn on CEC so it boots right to the Xbox.

    • +2

Yep I agree. Slap an Android media box onto it and you're cheering, with mostly unlimited updates available, not being at the mercy of the TV brand firmware.
This TV is exactly what I was after, replacing a $900 (on special) Samsung TV I bought 5 years ago, which has the Netflix app now abandonware on it..

great, better to get non smart tv than a TV with VIDAA OS

Got one and does the job. Sound quality is ordinary so have ordered a basic set of speakers.

Connected to a fire stick, only issue I have is the Amazon remote doesn't turn the TV on or control volume…haven't looked into resolving so might be a setup issue.

Is yours Fire Stick Lite? If yes, it is because Amazon intentionally removed this feature from the Lite version. I have the Lite and took me a while to figure out.

      • +1

Nah, it's the 4K max (2023 version I believe). Appreciate the reply tho! That's so gross they'd remove that feature…

    • +2

Funny thing is, the Amazon remote works fine on my parents' 10+ year old LG TV, but somehow not on this.

But anyway, CEC lets you use the Soniq's remote to control the Amazon Fire Stick instead.

So… six of one, half a dozen of the other?

      • +1

It's not my main TV so have never thought to even try this… Thanks for the tip!

    • Hmm I got my firstick 4k max or whatever to work fine… It turns on the tv and turns volume up and down etc. What surprised me is when I turn on my eris 3.5bt speakers manually, it syncs via Bluetooth fast and automatically and allows me to turn the volume of the speakers up and down via the fire stick which is very cool

I bought one of these last year for around the same price. AMAZING VALUE FOR MONEY!!!! great size, image quality is budget and it's very bright compared to my old tv which had dimmed super dark after 15 years of use. I've fully adapted to the image quality and everything, so the there is no problem to the image anymore. I will say speakers are gadawfull however you can easily connect a pair of speakers which will bring the sound quality up to sound amazing I use the eris 3.5bt and they sound awesome.

    • And I plug in a fire stick and automatically syncs with my speakers so it's cool.. and I saved thousands not buying the top of the line tv… Times are tough hehe

  • +1

Damn paid $330 to get powerboard replaced on my 11 years old LG. Should have bought this instead.

  • -2

    Too expensive.

    • +1

      Yes waiting for $295 delivered.

  • Was tempted but, honestly, without Bluetooth I'd need to buy another speaker. I really don't need/want any more speakers right now.
Seems like a nice deal otherwise though.

  • +3

Non smart TVs are actually sought after by some and I'm glad they still exist.

  • -4

"Non smart"? Not heard that before. Is it a politically correct version of "dumb"?

Has "dumb TV" become offensive to persons experiencing mutism?

  • I'm very curious as to how Soniq 4K compares to FFalcon 4K UHD. Anyone know if there is a big difference besides the 'Smart' feature?

  • Soniq! They are still around?
