Can you do the maintenance yourself easily, or do they want you to send it in for a service once a year?
Auto machines can get quite grotty inside.
You do your own maintainence and it’s pretty easy. Apart from the cleaning out the coffee grounds and water from the drip tray, you take the infuser out from the side and soak it in some water for a few minutes.
Depending on your water quality, the water filter in the water tank needs to be changed. I fill my tank with filtered water from the fridge so I don’t need to do it as often.
When it comes time for descaling, a light indicator appears on the front so just need to run a descaler through the water tank then it’s all good to go.
The machine also does its own rinse cycle when you switch it on and switch it off keeping all the nozzles nice and clean.
Froth wand also needs to be cleaned from time to time to get rid of excess milk that’s dried up. Simple twist of the frothing nozzle and a rinse and wipe and that’s it!
Did you remove the plastic guard from the grinder?
Many reviews state this is a fix to avoid pushing the beans
Normal price seems to be around $700 with sale price down to $500 or so and even slightly below.
Don't forget 5% Cashrewards.
I'm considering this or a Jura machine, the latter seems a bit better quality and less plasticy feel.
$516 after cashrewards is actually quite reasonable.
Stating the obvious but although it states FULLY automatic, milk frothing is manual (not that I care).
Or 6% Shopback.
Bought one of these last year with the American Express cashback via Harvey Norman. Fantastic machine and this is a great price. You'll have to descale the machine about once a month (30 minute process, with lots of waiting between refills), so buy some of the generic tablets online (ebay) rather than paying the ridiculous prices for the 'genuine' ones. Buy good beans and, as davodinkum suggested above, this will make better tasting coffee than you can get at your favourite cafe.
You can also use citric acid from the baking section of a from a foodstore. I've never used tablets.
Sadly it looks like the promo price has ended, as it's showing up as $599 for me, unless I've missed something obvious?
I’ve had this coffee machine for a year now. Makes awesome coffee. Buy good beans and have better coffee than from your local cafe
