usually $1.90 but are currently $1
my youngest loves hash browns and is a finicky eater so I'm behooved to pay $1.90 for something I can get from the supermarket deli for 50cents.
tried in several Bris stores.

Especially if not in Canberra. Our MP's work so hard for this country, they deserve a good deal too.
As long as they aren't soft - Shorten would object.
Trust you realise the majority of MPs don't live in Canberra and they're actually people from your states.
Yer they have to slum it at parliament with full meals and drinks for about the same price
Hard for me to justify a hash brown when i can buy and make them so cheaply. The hamburger on the other hand.
$2.5 for a 750gm bag, bugger $1 per hashbrown
Can you make it crispy in an air fryer?
For you baby I will ;)
Hashbrowns are $3 for maybe 20(?) at the supermarket, so they're closer to 15c than 50c (or a bit more if you include electricity).
Edit: Missed "deli". Never mind.
This logic applies to all restaurant food to be honest, not just McDonald's hash browns.
Well, it might be beyond a of people to prepare restaurant food.
Hopefully most people would be able to put frozen hash browns in the oven though!
it behooves me to pay $1.90 for something I can get from the supermarket deli for 50cents
I don't think 'behooves' means what you think it does.
No doubt a reference to one of the key ingredients of their meat patties.
I see what u there
why? “it’s a perfectly cromulent word.”
no, It is being used in the correct manner
I'm the parent and i have to/ am required to buy food my child.
probably should have written it in a more appropriate way. "..I'm behooved to…"
The context of your child eschewing supermarket mediocrity for the haute cuisine of old McDonald's does clear things up.
Look at Mr fancy pants here
I don't think 'behooves' means what you think it does.
I think the OP is saying that they are obligated to buy the Macca's version because their child won't eat any other kind, and behoove can kind of mean an obligation or responsibility.
But any opportunity to get a Princess Bride quote in is worth taking.
Thanks for the heads up OP.
Anyone saying “cheaper at supermarket blah blah” is forgetting the convenience factor of maccas.
People in the comments are bit harsh…
hash… a bit hash…. ;)
Where'd you get all states from? $1 Hash Browns may be exclusive to QLD
Agreed, haven't heard of this at my store in VIC
$2.15 for me on the app.
Well HBs have been $1 at Jack's for a long time now…
True, but many stores recently (in Vic at least) have gone up to $1.20 :(
😭
$1.2 in QLD now.
Maybe providing a finicky eating child deep fried salt/carb time bombs isn’t the greatest idea..
What do you give your kids when you're out and your walking by food court maccas and they want a snack?
A firm "no".
Hope that you've only got one child
😉
Get a man bag and bring some snacks with?
Like moths to a drunkard
So are the days of our lives…
Not related but has anyone else noticed McD just increased their soft ice cream cone's price to $0.7? I am in TAS, so sad for my sweet favourite.
The soft serve is better at Hungry Jacks
Disagree, Macca's soft serve has this texture which HJ or other franchises doesn't
HJ's sweets are totally disaster.
Agree. Macca's soft serve is usually more watery, and usually smaller.
Not sure if they changed or me, but I haven't enjoyed the Maccas hash browns in about 4 years.
They changed it, old ones were so good
Confirmed they are still the ridiculous price of $2.25 here in the ACT.
Shoutout to my old high school caf for regularly selling us hashbrowns and hot chocolates for $1 each. Kept us warm in winter.
Worked in Sunshine Coast, thanks. Hash Browns at my local store are normally $2.15!
hmmmm $1 for a 15cent product that has been heated up.
I should of started a small business selling these in front of offices.
$1.95 in Melbourne.
$1 is not a bad price
Think about the people who pay $4.20 for a "latte". Now, that is a 15 cent product.
I used to be one of those people. I've now got a keepcup and a container of Jarrah!
more like 50c with the price of coffee beans these days, but yeah still a ripoff..
should of
Stopped reading here, sorry.
When did this change happen? Ordered two on Saturday and still paid $1.75
Which store?
Hey did this deal expire? It's still active AFAIK and the self service kiosk says it ends on 26/2.
ALL STATES except the two main one!
