  • Looks like a pretty good phone for the price.

Pretty small battery for a 5.5 inch phone

About the same size as the new iPhones from what I can tell.

As a Motorolla owner I can testify to their battery life being superb.

    • +1

The body (apart from the camera lump) is only 6mm thick so there just isn't much room for it.
You can get batteries that magnetically clip onto the back if you want, that's the main claim to fame of the Z-series. Still ends up being thin enough that it's comfortable in a pocket and then you have a ~4900mAh battery combined. JBL speaker add-on is also good.

    • add the moto mod to extend the battery hours.

Good phone but bad reputation for seller from other ozbargainer feedback.

I lost my beautiful Xiaomi Mi A1 :'(

      • +1

Yes. I loved my Xiaomi :'(…

        • +1

that sucks, I really really really hope you find it

          • +1

@Savas: Thanks Savas I hope so too, but I doubt it.

Currently running a Leeco le 2 flashed with LineageOS 14.1.

            • +1

@Wystri Warrick: how long has it been lost for? the Leeco Le 2 doesn't look too bad.

              • +1

                @Savas: About 2 weeks.

The Leeco Le 2 is a backup phone, it's a good phone but doesn't have a mini jack, camera isn't as good as the Mi A1 and doesn't feel as premium as the Mi A1.

Hopefully you bought it on a 28 Degrees card with shopper protection less than 12 months ago?

Looks like a great phone for the price OP but I hate white phones with a passion. Any deal on the black variant?

    • +1

Can wack a skin or case or both hehe

      • Is there an option for a large full size glass screen protector that has black around the edges to cover up/over the white for this model phone?

That would be even better than a skin I think. I have had a few of those for other model phones from ebay ( although I had black fronts and then covered with black on the protector's edges, sides and top and bottom ).

        • +1

Sorry. Can't post links. But heaps on AliExpress

"PrimalNuke" I hear you on the white, and being gold on back is a double negative for me.

  • kindly check reviews of the website you buying from as well no doubt it's gr8 phone

  • That's an amazing value phone. Even has B28. Equivalent to S8 in specs which Samsung has on their web site for $999.

  • I ended up spending $100 more and getting it from a reputable eBay seller with this discount code.

The second reason is the eBay one comes in black, has Australian stock and is in a sealed box.The white+gold one is an eyesore, I currently have a white Moto Z Play. I bought my Moto Z Play from Aliexpress and the box was unsealed, quite possibly because the seller flashed the global ROM, Chinese Motorolas come with Lenovo's ZUI interface on top of Android.

Funny thing is this phone has a "Shattersheid" display but the plastic on top is so prone to scratching that Motorola encourages users to use a screen protector anyway. Seems like a big fail. But at sub-$300 prices this phone is on-par with the Galaxy S8/ Pixel 2 in all ways but the camera, at less than half the price, which is an amazing value. The other big reason I am getting mine is because I want to keep using my Moto Mods.

Reading through the forum posts on Ozbargain regarding this seller, it seems like very often they mislead customers to keep buying even if they run out of stock and are reluctant to provide refunds, and you could potentially be waiting months, so buy with caution.

      link to the product?

$346 after the 5% off code. It's a rare Black edition as well, which were exclusive to AT&T and Verizon AFAIK.

        • cheers, which moto mod have you got and where to buy?

          • @yummycoot: Moto Gamepad
            https://store.motorola.com.au/product/gamepad/
Adds a 1050 mAh battery, headphone jack and game controller, though this one has mixed reception, some people don't like the DPad.

Turbo powerpack extension and JBL Speakers are the really popular ones, though most of them are out of stock in the Motorola AU store, might have to find eBay sellers

            • @Perth027: i see how people dont the Dpad, cant put the phone in pocket with that attached. guess this phone is not an option for my dad😂
