    Min spend keeps increasing :(

    • +71

      Discount keeps decreasing…

    • Wasn't it $120 before?

Edit: Ok no, that was for 10%

      • I think originally the 5% off ones were $30 min, then it went up to $50 and even $70 in Nov 2018..

    • the other way to get more discount is to chat wih seller. Sometimes you can get a big discount.

      • How does tat work? After they agree to a discount, do they relist it cheaper?

        • It depends on the offer. Usually, they will offer a discount on the original listing according to your price and quantity. That is special for you.

  • +8

Whoa, 5% when you spend $100 or more

    • +28

Limited to one transaction per account lol.

This may be the beginning of the end if Amazon doesn’t shake things up some more.

      • +9

It's getting more and more lacklustre by the minute.

    • +1

I thought eBay was going to improve its deals because of Amazon, not make them worse.

    • +4

CLAYTONS5 - The discount you have when you're not having a discount.

  • +3

Time to offload my loaded cart.

  • +6

damn, why they gotta always exclude car parts… I need an AT filter kit

    • agree! i have a cart of 4wd items :(

    • +1

I think it's a new exclusion or maybe ebay usa doesn't exclude it as I remember using a 15% off code for a cold air intake before.

      • I used a 10% or 15% discount for coilovers from Germany for my A4 Quattro.

The car parts exclusion is definetly a new thing.

      • +6

Car Parts have been excluded on all deals for about 3 months now. I really need a radiator too! I've hardly gone on ebay and used Amazon instead. I'm doing a little boycott/protest lol because of the car part exclusion, increasing minimum spend and shopback exclusion.

    • +1

they sometimes do store discounts. picked up a filter for my moterbike and new battery shipped for less tbe $50 just before christmas

  • +34

Cue the suss 200 instant upvotes for an otherwise ordinary deal from FeeBay.

    • +2

Less than ordinary but the ozb farm is massive so 200 is very do-able

  • Other Lots More Items (88433

    Damn.

  • +9

Crikey, that minimum spend tho. Cmoooooon Amazon we need you to become the new eBay!

    • +6

      But eBay sucks…

      • +3

Well it does now… but they need some serious competition to up their game

        • +7

Amazon Prime day was pretty great for me.

          PS4 Pro deal
Philips Hue Colour Kit for like $130
          $9-$39 PS4 games
          Nintendo Switch Deals

Their lightning deals are also routinely good.

  • No love from Officeworks

      • +2

You know what they say, once you go paperstack, you don't go back.

        • @mattythecapybara how this even got +2 votes is beyond me…

          • +2

@orly: What can I say, introducing Mum and Dad to OzB has it's benefits …

            • @mattythecapybara: I would upvote this last comment as it genuinely made me laugh, but it's also on +2.

      • Try the girl in photocopying…

        Girl? That's a dude, dude.

        • Don't judge her.

        • +1

          Depends where the moustache is.

  • Finally. LOL. Been holdin a lot in my cart.

    • +13

Drink a large coffee and then hit the toilet - it might help

  • +6

    eBay I want at least 10% ….

  • +2

    pfffft
    .

  • +8

$100 or more is quite large requirement for 5%

    • +1

Yep $5 min for 5% is reasonable but eBayAu don't do reasonable

      • Is that discount of 25 cents holding you back from making a purchase? Not sure who is being unreasonable here.

  • +21

    5%? Not interested.

    • Your lack of interest in this deal qualifies for a neg vote?

      • +4

Not only lack of interest but a true OZBargainer will consider this a loss as compare to previous deals Ebay used to have.

        • I'm guessing you also cry over the good old days of DeliveryHero.

  • Finally. Have a solid $200 worth of purchases sitting there and best of all they've all been reduced :)

  • +5

This used to be a year-round discount with a much lower (if any?) minimum spend. Not getting excited about this.

  • +14

    At $100 it's a hefty buy-in.

The 5% off started at $30 minimum, then $35, $40, $50, $70 and now $100. Where to next?

    • +5

Probably minimum $1000 spend. Must have sold a lifetime of 1.5mil in goods and be a member since 1992

      • +3

dont forget must be a PLUS member.

        • Lol, nah, I think ebay have given up on plus.

  • +3

Have to compare to previous deals, so this is a poor deal.

  • +9

    Sorry, no 10%, no buy

    • +3

See what they did there? They use to give 10% and people would say wtf? no 15/20% no buy. Now they give you 5% and your saying wtf? no 10% no buy.

  • +2

no cashrewards % either at the moment

    • any one know why they longer support cashrewards

  • +4

    5?? GTFO!

  • +2

    10 % would be nice

  • LOL at the 10% no buy . Maybe your still waiting too for the 10% Ebay cards that may never appear again . hedonistic go to https://shopping.qantas.com/ebay . Just found it :)

  • Is there any way to confirm if this offer work on an item before you commit to buy?

    • +2

add to cart and apply to check

    • +1

You can put a random item in your cart and enter the code (before you click pay now).

      • That's OK if it's buy now. But if it's an auction win, you are committed to complete the sale whether or not a coupon works

        • +1

Indeed, but if they just wanted to check the code was working, they could test an item in the cart from the same category as the one they intend to bid on, then they would be safe. Assuming eBay doesn't pull the pin on the code beforehand.

  • +1

When I shop on Ebay AU but the product is in overseas (eg. Asia), do I still get charged 10% GST?

    • +1

Good question. I'd like to know the opposite. If you are buying something from overseas on ebay australia, will this code work?

      • +1

That isn't the opposite. That is the same question.

        • +1

Its not quite the same question. Mine was more buying something from ebay.com.au but being from outside Australia (i.e. with en ebay.com account).

I just sold something to a Canadian, and I was interested in offering him this discount code. But apparently it didnt work.

    • +2

Yes, if the item is shipped from overseas it will attract GST.

    • do I still get charged 10% GST?

Yes, it's only overseas items that are under $1000 that get charged the 10%.

      • It's all items there's no over or under any amount.

        • What I was inarticulately trying to say is, ebay only collects gst for items originating from overseas that are under aud$1000 each.

Items over aud$1000, duty is levied at the border.

          • @ash2000: That probably was the case a while back. Most sites give you a choice to either pay duties on arrival or pay upfront costs so no extra is needed. EBay is the same, there's the global sellers shipping program which most of the reputable sellers are apart of and will charge you accordingly for the tax and duties so no more money is payable.

            • @Whisper Quiet: Ok…. Thanks for that…. I haven't spent over 1k from an overseas seller for a while.

    • +1

      Yes you will.

  • +8

Given Amazon offers 6% cashback (ShopBack) with no minimum 5% off $100 is certainly lacklustre.

    • +3

Assuming everything else held even, I’d prefer 5% upfront discount over some convoluted 6% rebate that possibly may never eventuate.
But still, definitely lacklustre. I’ve been holding out for a 10% discount.

      • +2

Indeed, but for anything under the $100 price point (caeteris paribus) Amazon's offering is certainly more attractive.

eBay will need to be a bit more innovative if it doesn't want its market share to reflect what's happened in the US (Amazon 49% v eBay 6%)

        • +1

Tell me about this 49% amazon.

          • +1

            @lostn: Market share, not discount!~

          • @lostn: Market share. Amazon is a little untidy (duplicate listings etc) but eBay is a complete circus by comparison. You're left to shift through a big dump of listings compared to an actual organised store with reviews etc. Amazon customer service destroys eBay.

            • @[Deactivated]: Agreed. That's because ebay is too massive with sellers all over the place, especially China. Actually sifting through search results is difficult due to shady tactics sellers use in their listings that catch everything you search for (while not being what you're after) and also want to be at the top of the results.

Amazon has fewer choices because their 3rd party marketplace is not as big, but it's easier to find things. Real things not unwanted junk that's designed to be found.

              • @lostn: yeah, we need something in between Amazon and ebay.
more options than current Amazon AU but not many craps like ebay

        • maybe ebay's discounting their discounts to reflect their falling market share ;)

  • +5

Disappointing. Then again, better than nothing.

  • +1

When’s the next 20% off sale?

    • Sitewide? Never. Selected stores? All the time.

  • +8

Pfft 5 bucks off 100 dollars is supposed to tempt people to spend money? Get real.

  • +5

Not long now before it'll be 5% off, $500 minimum spend.
