    • They are punishing us for being excited that Amazon was coming. Now that Amazon failed they are free to do what they like :(

  • Does anyone know how to buy discounted Ebay Giftcards and if so, would the 5% discount still apply when using one?

    • +1

      No. Yes.

  • It's a deal, but barely. $100 Min spend, one transaction allowed, half the catalogue excluded and of course no cash back anymore. Why even make a code if that's the best you can do

  • +2

$100 is a lot for a minimum spend at 5%. It used to be $30. $100 was for 10% off.

Since the currency has to be the same for multiple orders, I can't use this. Half of what I want is in USD only, and I can't find another $50 to buy in $USD.

    • You actually can do this but you need to call eBay or have them call you and they will calculate the discount to the cent and create a voucher for you.

You just need to explain you’re buying in multi currency.

  • +1

Your gonna have to push much harder than that eBay.

Even peasants would give u the middle finger @ 5% & $100 min spend.

    How so many upvotes already.

  • +5

eBay UK and eBay Germany got their 15% off.
Where's our Aussie 15% discount, eBay???
    Ya flamin' mongrels

    • I don't get it, you upvote deal but complain about it

      • +1

Upvote for the 5% but I think we should get 15% like the other eBays
What's your reason for not upvoting?

        • +7

My reason is because the deal stinks obviously. If I do up vote a deal I won't complain about it like some

          • -4

@[Deactivated]: "the deal stinks" "I won't complain about it like some"
            Lol

            • +5

@King Tightarse: Try reading complete sentences.

            • @King Tightarse: Jokes on you

              • -1

@[Deactivated]: Joke? What joke? All I see is someone making stupid commentary about my original comment, which I don't think you got the gist of.
"Ya flamin mongrels" is meant as a lightweight joke IE Alf from Home and Away.

                • @King Tightarse: I get that, anyways enjoy your deal

  • +8

    $100+ for ~$5 off - it's a no from me.

    • Spend $200 and you'll save $10 though. Better?

  • +1

Thanks guys bought a xiaomi m365 for $627 not as cheap as $599 but not bad.

    • out of stock now. someone must've read my comment :)

    • +2

Are you in a state where powered foot scooters are legal to ride in public places?

      • Yes legal in QLD

    • they have re-listed them ($660 before code), but the code doesn't appear to be working now? was ur seller the ozanditone?

now that its appearing as 'new listing' maybe it was taken down so that code could not be applied to it.

      • Yea same seller not sure why it wouldn't work

  • -6

You guys realise this is the new long running 5% right?
Its not instead of other higher sales, they will still have them. These are great when the sales arent on and you are buying big items.
Im always happy when these are running…
Im going to buy a 55" LG B8 OLED, $50 in my pocket, later haters…

    • +5

I agree 5% is always nice to have for big purchases but this code is valid for one transaction only…

  • How does this work with an auction item?
Do you bid with the hope that when the auction ends the coupon is still valid?
Do you enter the coupon code at checkout after the auction?

    • +1

Enter code at checkout to redeem. Hurry, your coupon expires 31/03/19. Terms and conditions apply.

I think you're safe unless the auction ends after 31/03/2019

  • +1

$100 minimum spend kills the deal

    • +3

      The 5% also

    • +2

Don't mind $100 minimum spend if it is 20% off.

    • How so?

  • +12

Cant wait for the next Ebay deal 2.5% off min spend $200 ;)

    • +10

Limited to one sale between two people ;)

    • +5

      That will get 300+ upvotes

      • +9

Time OZB deal downvote guidelines change so users can bury deals (and the daily watch spam) not worthy of front page.

  • Be sure to check your email and accounts for targeted thank you offer, I received $10 discount on $20 spend expires on the 14th.

    • Thanks, seeing your post I just checked mine got a $20 voucher no min. spend expiring on 15/1.
Note: account not used in last 12 months

      • Me too - thanks man!!!

      • +2

Note: account not used in last 12 months

But of course. As soon as you use it, that will be the last targeted offer you'll ever get.

    • I got an email saying we know you looked at the Amazon site a few times, NO DEAL FOR YOU!

  • +20

Most people upvote any crappy deal.

Considering that eBay Australia has ended deals with Cash Rewards and has lifted the minimum spend to a insulting level. This deal should be OzB most negged deal of 2019 but no.

    • +3

I would love to neg but mods on here are to anal with what they think a deal is.

      • The best deals won't hit the front without being able to downvote deals that aren't worthy.

    • They've ended cashrewards?

I guess most people won't care. But its just a lame thing to do to save 1% on such a small fraction of sales.

    • …and has lifted the minimum spend to a insulting level. This deal should be OzB most negged deal of 2019 but no.

You're insulted? Really? Because you can save 5% off a $100+ eBay purchase for doing nothing more than typing five characters into a coupon text box?

It's incredible what people think they're entitled to these days.

      • It's NOT a bargain at all….this is OzBargain, not OzTinker, I too would love to neg this but IMHO can't.

  • +7

What a joke! Just 5% off with that minimum purchase of $100, all in single transaction with no Cashback either. Stop trolling us eBay.

  • +3

Can't support this disgrace. 5% is a joke and even more so when compared to other locales.

  • +7

They are testing discounts and amounts, DO NOT BUY, if you buy they’ll think it’s ok for people and keep it this way

    • Good point.

    • Their employees also have accounts here and will now see your plan….

  • +15

I noticed that I have been buying more on Amazon than on Ebay recently. Deals like these will further move customers away from Ebay.

    • +1

Same, my eBay cart has had items in it the past couple months.

Amazon has been my new go to for shopping. I've only spend $10 the past 6 months on eBay buying little things like temper glass for phone etc.

  • +14

    Save 5% on $100 transactions… yet 100+ votes

Convinced there's eBay bots on this website.

    • I was just thinking the same thing.

    • +2

      They have become self aware.

    • Are they Chinese or Russian bots? I do recall the short Chinese takeover of OzBargain in April once. ;p

    • +1

Doubt any eBay bots, my money's on ozb noobies easily fooled

  • +2

    1 Transaction Per Account

Honestly. It's like they are just wanting us all to have 15 eBay accounts each.

That is, if you can find something worth the 5% off over $100.

  • +8

How do these deals constantly get so many upvotes?

    • +3

Same reason TA gets so many too //Oh I went there.

      • +4

Can't go a day without bashing TA on everything that has nothing to do with him.

        • Some people have ass-sessive tendencies.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: And a huge level of jealousy as we can see by the downvotes on my 2 comments.

      • +4

TA is a great contributor. But sometimes I look at the votes on his deal and think "how?"

I don't want him to stop in any way though, it's not his fault if there are ozb'ers who pretty much just auto-vote positive!

Same thing happens with Scotty's posts and a few other big-hitters. Or Ozb exclusive codes that aren't actually much of a deal.

TBH it doesn't even worry me. It's just something I've noticed. Move along!

  • +2

Car and truck parts as usual…

  • +2

I wonder what their reason is with the car parts exclusion?
    I always see that one.

  • -1

What the (profanity) eBay, minimum spend makes it bu***hit

  • +6

A Lousy 5% discount with $100 minimum spending, yet 129 upvotes are already given. Wow.

    • -6

Because some of us have more than $100 to spend on eBay? Can you offer a better alternative?

      • +5

        Amazon + cashrewards?

        • -1

Does Amazon have the same stuff on eBay? Does Amazon have auctions? Nope. They lack what I need and the stuff they do have is more expensive!

Example being I have a gimbal I need. $110 on eBay vs $130 on Amazon.

That's not a better offer. Infact I doubt anyone can offer a better offer. I see no other sitewide sales.

          • @Clear: It all depends how urgently you need it. If you need it now, it's the best available. Otherwise it can wait. A better deal will come. It's a matter of when not if.

I only have low to mid priority stuff on my watch list, so I can wait.

            • @lostn: Meanwhile I have the high priority because the items have already been reduced by the seller and the quantities are limited. Amazon are selling for RRP :P

  • If an auction for a private seller reaches $100, can you apply this?

  • +1

Thanks, bought $500+ worth of stuff saved $27 lol

    • That's huge, free lunch for you today

  • +4

So eBay is making all their offers worse and then not going back to the older offers which probably means that people are taking them up on the inferior offers at high enough rates.

  • +9

Negged. shetty deal, nothing against you OP.

  • there will be incoming deals for back to school, etc. in the next few weeks maybe for selected sellers as in the previous years.

  • Does it stack with LEGO 20% off voucher?

  • +14

I don’t understand all the likes, eBay has offered 5% off with a minimum spend of $30 continuously, for years. This deal is rubbish, 10% discount minimum to get my attention. eBay you will lose a lot of customers if this is the best your going to do in 2019.

    • +2

I have $200 to spend on eBay. Can you name a better offer that would get me more off?

      • +14

        I'll save you $200. Don't buy anything :)

      • +6

you may get 5 percent off, but it ain't a deal nor a bargain.

        • +1

That doesn't make sense. So paying full price over 5% off is a bargain?

          • +2

@Clear: paying full price over 5% = bargain? what idiotic thinking lmao. No one said that.
I'm saying 5% off is not a bargain particularly comparing to the actual bargains we were getting from ebay before.

            • +2

              @waterbottled:

you may get 5 percent off, but it ain't a deal nor a bargain.

You said it yourself… 5% is not a deal nor bargain. So what is a bargain if I have $200 to spend at eBay? Pay full price or use this coupon?

              • +2

                @Clear: wtf…. it's neither bro? a bargain would be like, 20 percent?

                • +1

@waterbottled: It's clear you're new here as 20% off sitewide sales are never a thing. 5% however is and normal. They get renewed a few times a year too.

Still you haven't answered the question. Given the current offers, what is a better alternative? There are none.

                  • @Clear: You can wait for a 10%? 5% being normal doesn't mean it's a bargain. Do you know what a bargain means bro? Sure, its a discount, but it's not a bargain.

                    • @waterbottled: There we go now you're being reasonable. Yes you wait for the illusive and rare AU 10% sitewide sale which these days is eBay Plus only recently, but not always.

You can get the US/UK ones with a risk of an account ban, or alternatively if you're looking for things urgently/not at amazon/auction you can take advantage of the 5%.

End of the day it's still a bargain.

                      • @Clear: Yes, I can see 211 people are urgently needing stuff now and can't wait for more % off. Seems, we have money to burn.

                        • @bargainparker: Based on forum posts we all have 70k investment cars and earn over 100k

                          • @Clear: Hmm, I'm off to see where my 70k car is, strangely can't see it in the garage. Then I have to pay a visit to my employer, I think he's been stealing my pay.

                      • @Clear: Hahaha you don't know what bargain means hahahahaha.

      • +2

You wait for a 10% deal either on AU, US or UK. They get 15% off deals regularly too.
