This, or the 1Tb Xbox One S for $279?
The internal drive is not upgradable. However, you can attach an external drive later on.
It's also nearing the end of this generation. You might be done with it before fill up the drive.
Hmmmm.
If you think you'll need more space, get the 1TB.
Xbox One S also has 4k bluray player. Pretty sure base model does not.

Yeh I thought the deal posted was just for a standard base model Xbox. Doesn't say Xbox one S, even on the amazon page. But I guess it is a one S as it says 4k blu ray capable in the description. And pretty sure the original Xbox one was black and the one S is the white one shown.
@Shaun Prawn: Non S or X model is out of production
@ozdesi: OK thanks. Even one X is out of production? Wonder why? It wasn't released all that long ago.
@Shaun Prawn: picture says a thousand words, does the item pic on amazon page looks like X model to you!
@ozdesi: You said "Non S or X model is out of production", as in the X model is not being made anymore and the only model Microsoft is still producing is the S model.
I'd say get the cheaper one, then look out for a deal for an external 4TB drive for $100. Consistently at $130 at the moment. Then you'll have plenty of room.
Xbox One S
Updated now! (Not sure why they didn't note that in their title!)
Does xbox need a paid subscription service? Get game son this?
You need an Xbox Live subscription to play online/multiplayer. Can go back to the 1980s and play solo without. :-)
1980s? There was no online gaming for the Megadrive I bought in 1994 or the PlayStation I bought in 1996.
And there was no online gaming for the Atari 2600 or Commodore 64 I bought in the 1980s. Either/or. :-)
You don’t need Xbox Live Gold, but you cannot play any multiplayer games without it - even F2P games like Fortnite require it, unlike Sony and Nintendo who allow free online multiplayer for F2P games.

Somewhat true with Xbox in its current state, but Sony and Nintendo are still investing heavily in offline single player experiences.
Is a tv tuner worth it @Microsoft store? I'm. so lost there's like x y z versions of this box.
Not worth it. I bought mine at ~$16 AUD. It is still sealed and collecting dust. I don't watch FTA TV much nowadays. You get the console to play games, not watch free to air TV programs.
Lol dude perhaps he wants some sunrise to go with his cornflakes and needs the tuner.
I used mine to add FTA for my home theater projector.
Can these get home brew?
One hour later, 5% claimed. lol
Everyone who wants one of these either already has it, or upgraded to the X.
Good price if you missed out on the last few deals. But I will hold off until the 1TB is on sale.
I'm in the same boat
Good find OP - $198 after cashback.
How to get the 10% cash back?
Shopback.
Meh..
Need a good deal for the X

They have this ar target Northland for 200 with minecraft
what's the difference in terms of performance between this model and the more expensive XBox?
I've got a One S and it's fine for me. Some people want the top of the line though.
Any extra features worth the extra dollars?
That's for you to decide - I can't perceive your value. Have a Google or search around here
@pennypincher98: what's the difference in terms of performance between this model and the more expensive XBox?
Do you plan to use the console on a 4K TV or a 2K monitor? If yes, then XB1X is better.
For 1080p, it kinda depends. First party titles (Forza, Gears of War, Halo, etc…) still push for 1080p on XB1S, but current third party titles simply go for dynamic 1080p (with true res more like 960p or below). With XB1X's supersampling feature, it becomes tricky. It is essentially 4X FSAA on first party titles, the difference is minor (because those games already have TAA or other AA applied). However, for third party titles, where they are 960p or below (i.e. RDR2 - 864p), it is no longer just the FSAA - you get a resolution boost back to 1080p.
Personally, I feel that if you only have 1080p, then XB1S is great value for money (though I think $219 is average, not bargain price). XB1X owners using it on 1080p will point out Froza Horizon 4 supports 1080p@60fps (supersampling obviously is off in this mode), and third party games do look better due to the resolution difference. Framerate generally improves a bit (most games reach locked 30fps more consistently).
If you plan to mainly just play GamePass titles, then XB1S is the most sensible choice.
Game pass is insane value. I order the X but this is great for kids.
Ha I sold my 2yr old one s for same price on gumtree
I am looking to purchase a 4k player and this seems the cheapest as it supports dolby vision. Anyone have an opinion on this ?
It supports dolby vision for Netflix but not for discs. No announcement of if that'll be coming or not. I'm in the same boat as you, been looking at one of these or an LG UBK90.
Thank you that is a deal maker then.
Deal finished.
Good first find OP.
