Don't forget RGB case version of Ryzen 5 2600 RX 580 8GB is also available for $719.10

    • +1

I'd absolutely recommend versions with that case.

Seems great from my perspective. Also able to hold bigger cards.

      Plus…RGB!!!

Nice.. will add into OP 👍🏻

Ordered about two weeks ago. Still no update. Just note that if you need it fast.

    • Have you made sure to send them a message?

    • +2

Surprised to hear you haven't received an update. Could you PM me?

  • +1

does anyone know the speed of the ram? and what ssd do they use?

    • 2400.

I believe the SSD is either allied or WD? Amount listed with listing.

*Allied's a "no name" brand, but shouldn't matter to much in terms of durability.

      • +1

thanks i guess it doesnt matter much since i will be using my own ssd if i m getting this its just i m thinking how hard will it be for me to sell it

        • Should be able to get about the same price as a Kingston drive.

  • +2

    Excellent prices OP.

Perfect, got the 2x monitor & 1060 deal for $950 delivered, we'll see what arrives. Looking at parts alone it's hard to find a combo for that price let alone the monitors on top. Might be crap but there's always gumtree…

  • +1

    So how much savings roughly?

    • Think the discount code is 15%. $700 with 15% is $595.

(So sub $600 for all of the above)

      • +1

its actually 10% off from $799 and the price is in the title. for the rgb ryzen at least

        • Just used 700 because the lowest in the post is 719 (thought there was a 699 one for some reason actually but can't be bothered to check that again).

Just throwing out the lowest so the poster had an idea of what savings to expect.

Mind that my brain seems to not have been working. Pretty sure not all of them would be sub 600, lol.

Edit - Ah, thanks for updating on the discount code as well. Has the 15% one ended? Or was that for something else?

A pretty nice deal, though it is 2018, 8GB of RAM isn't enough in most cases.

    • which is bullshit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnuNs_Nu46Q

current gen consoles all use 8GB RAM, which is why 8GB is sufficient for almost all games

      • +2

As per hardware unboxed, it's necassary for maximum fps, but 8gb is absolutely enough

      • +2

You mean there are people that don't have 500 chrome tabs open while trying to play PUBG?

    Hi
newbie question, looking for a gaming pc for my son who is fortnite mad. Is this a good deal?
I think if this is going to be speced up for fortnight, and the newer games, I will need to pay a few hundred more for a proper graphics card.
    Is that right?

Trying to learn a bit and compare apples with apples

    Thanks for any comments..

    • I'd add the RX570 and you should be good to go at HD resolution.

I run games 2k resolution using that card but with settings on medium-high, so most games will run really well at 1k.

      • +3

I might be missing something here, but why would he need to get the RX570? This deal already comes with an RX580 or GTX1060, both of which are better cards.

@jamestas This setup should be fine for playing newer games, as long as you're not trying to use a particularly high-resolution monitor (above 1080p). I've got pretty much the same setup myself (120GB SSD, GTX1060, 8GB ram and a weaker processor than what's on offer here) and I haven't had any real issues with newer games yet - you might not be able to have everything on maximum settings but things will run fine and Fortnite should be easy, I think.

        • +1

Oh missed that. My mistake! - Sorry:)

        • +1

Ok thanks, that's great info too. I missed the fact it came with the RX580 in the listing. When you view the listing it shows it as an optional extra in the wording below - as options, but looking again I see this is inclusive of the RX580.

Looks like an ok deal then… just need to add an OS to it…

    • It is a good deal for an entry level gaming PC.
You won't need to upgrade the graphics card, the RX 580 and GTX 1060 are good mid-range cards, and are capable of handling any current game.

The only upgrade I would suggest is RAM, taking it from 8GB to 16GB.
That being said, you could probably just buy the standard 8GB package and be fine without any upgrades at all.

is this cheaper than building in yourself?

i do realize the 1060 gtx is outstanding gaming for a 1080p screen. if i buy a 4k monitor, will i be able to set it to 1080p to get maximum performance out of this thing? im planning to buy a cheap 4k monitor for the ps4 pro/red dead redemption if a deal comes out. and also a deal for the ps4 and the game it self.

    • Definitely cheaper than building yourself.

      *Not associated, accidentally hit it.

    • oh also wouldn't the rx580 graphics version be a better choice since the cheapest 4k monitors all have freesync? like the samsung one is about 350, those are the ones im willing to buy around the $350 mark to be used for this pc and the ps4 pro when i buy it hopefully by the end of this year.

so would you choose rx580 plus ''freesync 4k monitor'' (will use at 1080p freesync for pc gaming and 4k for ps4 pro)
      VS
1060gtx same monitor but does not support freesync, cheapest g-sync 4k monitor is like 800 bucks.

      • +1

I'd personally choose AMD over Nvidia thanks to freesync.

  • +1

Will a 1060 be able to play PUBG at full hd with high graphics?

Also, comments suggest the ram speed is 2400 and not like 3000. How does ram speed and ram size differ in performance?

Running an nvidia card with an AMD CPU, how's the optimisation? Or are we better off going with the 580 if using an AMD CPU?

  • +1

Damn just ordered the 1060 yesterday for $787

    • +1

Could probably message them to cancel the order then redo it. They'd probably be willing to redo it, eBay's fronting the cost.

Or they won't. You'll never know if you don't ask

      • +1

Yeah I didn't think of that. Deal expired already. Oh well $41 bucks difference I guess..

  • +1

i got this rx580 version plus a samsung 4k monitor with freesync for $340 also used the code dropped from 399.
also picked up a razer gaming keyboard $72, from 89
    a 500gb samsung ssd 860 evo for $99, from 125
