    • Yep - me too. I have it in my basket from yesterday, still shows as $159. Go to checkout and price increases to $174.

  • Whoa…had my eye on an HP Laptop. It was $1034.00 before 10am when this promo started. After 10am, the same laptop is listed for $1299.00. Now, with the 20% off, it is back to around the original $1034.00. So, no bargain after all.

  • I can't seem to use both an existing and new gift card together with the code - i thought they always stacked? Anyone else having trouble?

    • same issue here

      • Working for me now

        • looks like mine was related to click and collect - GG must have updated their ebay inventory when I was in cart/checkout
I picked local store C&C, but purchase failed.
when i went back in, local store was not available. picked next closest store and used multiple GC's + 20% successfully.

  • The cooktop I was looking at increased by $50. Can't tell if it was a sale ending it not but I don't think so >:(

Chromecast 3 "available" and no "price jack". Available stock in most of Sydney stores as well. $47.2 after discount.

  • Going to buy NEW LG A9MASTER2X CordZero A9 Master 2X Handstick Vacuum from TGG.

DO I still get the bonus offer they have in their store? If so, How do i redeem it?

    Cheers
    LOveishell

    • Just bought. Need to go here to redeem. I'm assuming TGG would be a particpating seller.

      • +1

Correct. It is an LG offer, and you are eligible as TGG are still the store for purchase.

We did it a few weeks ago during the last 20% off for TGG@eBay.

        • Thanks for your replies in other posts pax, helped me pull the trigger! The wife is very happy, picked up this arvo.

  • I propose we start a petition to remove the GST on overseas purchases.

    • +5

What does that have to do with this Aus based store though?

    • +4

I'm with you, the Harvey Norman Tax has to go, start a petition and I will sign it!

But what does that have to do with this deal?

    • So why neg a deal offering only Australian purchases?

  • +1

They didn't remove the items I wanted. I bought the chromecast ultra and chromecast audio for 20% off. Click and collect as well.

  • I want to buy a tv and soundbar but they are charging $55 delivery on both.
If it was $55 for the two I would pay it, who can you contact?

    Dont worry

Can you combine the postage cost if I order more than 1 item?
thegoodguysaustralia : We are unable to combine delivery charges. An eBay delivery fee is charged per product per order.

    :(

  • The samsung TV UA75NU8000WXXY 75 now offers free Xbox X.. I just got one of these for RDR2 bundle.
How much do you think I can sell the Xbox1 X for?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsung-UA75NU8000WXXY-75-19…

  • I wanted an apple ipod. The listing states that you can use the 20% off code, yet it can't be added to that item… ahhhh crap

    T&C's doesn't exclude apple
Exclusions. This offer does not apply to items listed by the Selected Sellers in the following category: Gift Cards (184609).

    • +1

Use a different ebay account or create a new one. The code will work.

      • I was too late, TGG cancelled the listing.

  • Added a Samsung tablet from TGG to my ebay watchlist yesterday. It wasn't as cheap as Bing Lee on ebay, but not that much more. Combined with 20% off, it would have been a great deal.

Checked back today after the sale went live and found that the price of the tablet had gone up >18%. So now it's competitive with Bing Lee, but on principle I won't be buying from TGG for this sale. Not impressed.

  • picked up a chromecast

  • Trying to buy a pedestal fan like here https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Ronson-R40RPF16-40cm-Pedesta… but when I try to add the PGOOD20 coupon code, it keeps saying that the code cannot be applied to your order. Tried it with few other fans but same result. Any idea why this is happening?

    • The code worked for me on this item.

    • +1

Use a different ebay account or create a new one. The code will work.

  • +1

Same as others…watched an item jump +- 20% right as the sale started… they even updated their main website to match…
Giving this a Neg due to improper pre-inflation of prices…

  • Tried buying a split system aircon. Says code cannot be applied to your order.

    • Same happened to me for another product. Created a new account and it magically worked.

      • Hmm, wonder why though, nothing posted about the deal only being for new accounts??

        • I don't think everyone who used the code had new accounts. Just some weird cr@p.

    • change area from US back to AUS

  • +1

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 was $381 before the sale, refreshed the page and its now $449. Although $449 - 20% = $359 so its cheaper than before

  • I was looking for a printer and TGG price jack by at least 40%. epson XP-240 from $49 now $79, epson xp-440 from 79 now $109

  • +1

For people getting the error 'code cannot be applied to your order', this error relates to specific ebay accounts. I was getting one. I created a new account and I was able to use the code for the same item I was getting error for.

    • I was also getting an error code when I was selecting pick up so I just chose postage and it worked. Only an extra $5 and saved me a lot of time.

  • Had my eye on a Bosch dryer for a while, has been $1,600 everywhere for months. Same price at TGG so was very happy to get 20% off.

    Up vote from me.

  • +1

Why all the negativity? Most of the 20% sales for every store include mass-coordinated jacking and item removals.
Why is everyone holding TGG to such a high standard?

Seems like there are still bargains here.

    • +1

      I do not know why.

    • This reeks of the straws deal mentality.

  • There's nothing wrong with not wanting to sell everything for 20% off. Just don't be sneaky about it. Be straightforward and no one would neg you. Ok, Good Fellas?

  • +3

I call Bullshit on your non Price Jacking Claims
    NEW Samsung SM-T590NZKAXSA Galaxy Tab A 10.5" 32GB Wi-Fi - Ebony Black was $381 yesterday is $449 today
Still $369 at Officeworks, Shame Shame Shame!

    • +1

I noticed the same. Pissed off!

  • -3

    This is unacceptable

    • I agree. 20% off is not enough. I was 100% off!

      • +1

If I knew you were 100% off I would have picked you up. I do not know why but I love a freebie!

  • They may sell only older models on ebay.

  • Haha… within 2 minutes of me ordering the new TV, I get a reply from yesterday's message to TGG telling me they don't have local stock in my store but will soon. I'd chosen delivery as a result of this to avoid a 1hr trip with it lying on it's side/back… now I'm apparently waiting for stock to get from Sony to my local store (approx 1 week).

Mind you, they didn't even acknowledge the stuff around on having to pay for washer delivery unnecessarily.

So basically it's listed on eBay in stock an hour away, they say 'item ships from VIC' and neither of those are actually relevant to my purchase. Paying $100 in 3 weeks for 2 items to be delivered 10min in a truck when both times I'm happy to pick up is average. We'll have a chat next week when it arrives at the local store…

    • 1hr trip with it lying on it's side/back

This was an issue with plasma screens. Unfortunately, shittier tech (LCD/OLED) has taken over, so you don't need to worry about that one anymore.

Similar to how you don't have to charge a brand new phone/laptop overnight when you receive it anymore (Lithium Ion batteries don't require this).

      • Yeah I figured that however it's then 2.5hrs return trip and $20 fuel… we're pretty close to just pay to have them deliver. All the same, I'd be more comfortable moving a screen on it's back for 10min more so than 80min.

      • From my understanding, the reason why you transport TVs upright is because of physics. The screen is much stronger vertically than horizontally, so it's got nothing to do with plasma vs LCD tech.

It's similar to transporting and storing glass panels. You'll notice that glass panels are always secured to the truck vertically.

        • Mostly correct about plasmas and glass. LCD panels are made of plastic, are much lighter and can withstand stronger tensile forces.

  • Is anyone else having trouble applying the discount at checkout? I've tried it for the LG C8 and E8, but keep getting the message: 'This code can't be applied to your order.' I got this message when trying to enter other ebay discount codes, too. Any ideas?

    • Open a new eBay account and the problem is solved. Don't ask why but worked with everyone.

  • +1

Google Home Hub is now listed on their ebay store, $180.20 delivered.

Anyone else notice that the Microsoft Surface products have also completely disappeared?

I jumped on at 10am to purchase the Surface Book 2, and after two 'failed' attempts by Ebay at processing the transaction (apparently the Good Guys have issues with the pick-up option), I tried again at lunch time for delivery, and NONE of the Surface products were available.

Also, anyone had the issue when selecting the click-and-collect option, and it not working?

    • I'm also getting error at checkout for pickup. Have you tried again?

      • I gave up after two attempts. The guy I was chatting with on the EBay Chat function mentioned that this particular seller (I.e. The Good Guys) do have consistently have an issue when attempting to pick-up in store.

The EBay Rep did try to put my frustration at ease my offering free delivery code, but I couldn’t use it in conjunction with the offer code for the 20% off.

When I tried to put the Microsoft Surface Book 2 for delivery, it was apparently all-of-sudden “sold out”.

What are you trying to purchase?

        • I missed the last 20% discount on the Surface Book 2.. brought the 13” 16GB, 512gb down to almost $3k.

Whichever store wants to bump the price back down to that will have an instant sale, otherwise I’ll continue to wait. Frustrating the Good Guys took stock away and then tries to boast that its 20% off storewide.

          • @Noslien90: I was coming to buy the Surface Pro last night and the item had just been completely removed….
            What a joke!

  • They should have titled this event as the 'Bad Sale from the Bad Guys!'.

Too many issues when checking out, popular items de-listed, price jacked (although they say they dont).

  • +2

    THEY INFLATED THE PRICES!
Was looking at a tablet yesterday. It's gone from $381 yesterday to $449 today.

eBay policy stipulates that a product's pre-sale price cannot be altered seven days prior to the start of a sale.

    Reported to ACCC

  • +2

It's a total con job. Every product over $500 is only 'in stock' at one store in all Australia, yet go to their own website and it's available at nearly every store ? They force you to buy it with their over inflated delivery cost.

"The sale you're having when you're NOT having a sale !"

    • I've posted the same from my washing machine purchase (TGG) where no local stock but hey, the local store still calls and arranges delivery direct from them within a day or two.

This time they were legit out of stock at local store for a TV, told 5-7 days to get it from Sony so I called up at day 6 to ask for an ETA. Nope, still on order, 'usually takes a week'. That was after the lady was probably the only rude person I've spoken to on the phone in a while because I didn't have an order number handy due to eBay. Mind you, she found it within 10 seconds with my surname…

Awaiting a response from eBay TGG to tell them I'm not happy with their semi forced shipping. Will give em 24 hours and then escalate. My gripe is that while they said 'no local stock we have to order'… they continued to sell both online and instore from everywhere until all stock dried up. How many people I wonder are waiting? Oh and I had raised the shipping complaint to them in a previous communication and they literally ignored that paragraph, not a single word about it.

  • Not even a discount on combined postage. 3 items $150 delivery. The local store said they could organise delivery if I order for pickup but they dont the have stock at their store through eBay. Even though it is on the showroom floor.

  • The discount code doesn’t work!
Anyone know a work around apart from signing up for a new account?

  • +2

Report them to the ACCC. This sort of practice is deceptive and illegal. Kogan received fines for doing it previously.

I have and i encourage others do so as well. The ACCC form takes 2 minutes and you can upload a couple of price jack examples by screenshotting the ebay sold link on TGG ebay store, and you can see current price versus previous price of item by dates bought.

  • Great prices. I was in the market for a new fridge for a while and this was the deal for me to pull the trigger.
Samsung 719L French Door Refrigerator SRF719DLS - $2,532 delivered after 20% off, with $300 cash back from Samsung.
    Effective price $2,232 delivered.

  • Can we request weekend delivery if purchasing from ebay?

    • Your paying the delivery fee. If they've overly inflated/jacked the fee like most listings, demand they deliver on your terms not theirs!
