Heard that the 4G doesn't work in OZ for one plus as they haven't made an agreement with Oz carriers.

    Can anyone confirm?

    • +1

Shouldn't matter if the phone is unlocked. It seems to have all the relevant bands, even band 28

    • +5

I have the A6000 and have been using it for 3 months now. 4g works perfectly fine.

      • Thanks…..A6003 suppose to have more bands than A6000….reception wise you're happy?

        • +3

The A6003 only has 3 more bands - 30, 32 and 71, all for the US/EU markets, pretty sure 30 is for AT&T (US), 32 is for EU market and 71 is TMobile (US). The A6000 is for the Asian markets so has every band for Australia networks.

          • +2

@BeerCrisp: Yup A6000 is fine for Australian market. No problems here on Telstra.

      • Oh and what network you using it on? Cheers

        • my sisters op3 had some problem with receiving signals but she went to the store and they changed it to suit her phone.

        • Optus/Virgin Mobile. I've also used it overseas using a Hong Kong SIM and had no issues.

You can get this phone cheaper off some local eBay dealers using POFF5. About AU$610. I bought one yesterday.

      • +3

P5OFF code on that one will bring it down to $610.55. That is exactly the one I bought and before I bought it there was only '1 left'.
I think stock-levels is something some eBay dealers mess with to make you rush into a buy worrying that you'll miss out, that's just speculation though.

        • Yeah you're right, I hadn't logged in so it wasn't showing me the P5OFF price.

    • +3

I also bought one yesterday for $578 with the PLUSME code when it was sitewide!

      • Great get. I've used my eBay+ trial and didn't want to resubscribe, thought long and hard about it though.
Probably would have been worth it in retrospect.

      • Don't supposed you have a link to this deal that is $50 better than the deal you're commenting on?

  • +3

FYI 6T came out so price might drop soon

    • +1

That's why GB are trying to offload their stock at a price that is going to go lower in the future.

      • $624 isnt great thou since I got the 5 for $480 when it was the flag ship last year

        • Aussie dollar was about 10% stronger this time last yeartoo.

  • +1

Considering this is getting all the new camera features this is a great phone to get. If you are ok with the notch, and 20% less battery life but value a headphone jack then this is a win!

    • Both OP6 and OP6T has same camera hardware. OP6T will have out of the box Camera enhancements (incl. Nightscape which is similar concept of Google's NightSight) however OP6 will also get the same feature with the OS upgrade.\

So yeah - other than the smaller notch and bigger battery, OP6 is the better choice for the price.

      • Don't forget in screen fingerprint scanner, min 128Gb storage and slightly larger screen in same size body

  • Not really that great…I paid $670 ish a few months back for 128GB version…on ebay.

  • +1

I also got my 8GB/128GB for $660ish on eBay a while back. Still not a bad price though. A6000 version too so it has every band required for use in Australia and there have been no coverage issues with Telstra including rural.

The only issue you may encounter is that wifi hotspotting breaks after the Android Pie update for some people. There is a quick work around in the settings that fixes it though.

if only the screen is 7.28"

    • Strange comment

    • +1

Why? Do you see such a large screen in competing phones?

  • +2

    Found a code online for $20 USD : GBMPOP64 making this AU$594.17

    • +1

      Thanks have updated post.

  • where do you enter the code? Can't see anywhere on checkout or order screen ?

    • +1

You enter the coupon after you proceed to checkout see here but unfortunately coupon GBMPOP64 is no longer working so have marked the deal as expired.

Edit: It is currently on flash sale so works out cheaper even without coupon see here. Make sure you select cheapest shipping option as it defaults to the more expensive shipping.

      • Ok, thanks. I'm getting a different checkout screen which does not have the discount code option. Anyway, not to worry.
