Hi all. Similar to the very popular deal in January, Cashrewards is offering another hot deal for its members. Quite literally $11 profit ($21 cashback minus $10 cost) with access to amaysim’s Unlimited 1GB mobile plan on the house. The critical requirements in order to avail of this cashback are (1) you are a new amaysim customer, (2) activate on or prior to July 31, and (3) you click out via the Cashrewards link in the post.     Hi all. Please note that amaysim has now confirmed they are aware that some people may not receive their SIMs from this exclusive promo prior to the activation close date of July 31. They’ve clarified that on this occasion only, they will honour cashback (pending all other terms in OP) as long as the SIM is activated within 30 days of purchase date.       There is a turn off auto-renew option in amaysim account settings. You can also set your payment method to Bpay as another way to avoid recurring charges.

      You don't need to recharge to get cashback.

    If your SIM arrives pre-activated, contact amaysim. They will reset the activation date so you get the full 28 days.

    I was offered partial refund as credit previously instead of full 28 days.

      Better to PORT a number as port process starts when SIM is activated. Need to enter number to port when signing up.

      Amaysim has never reset activation date for me in the past.

      • same here. custom service told me sim was activated after sim sent so it was not "preactivated"

    • No need to call now. Their systems will see first use of the SIM and reset the plan upon first use. You will get a SMS notifying you of that happening.

      • That's what happened to my 15GB one. But some others have reported it didn't happen for them. So it's a bit of a lottery I guess?

    • Hi ntb. Your tracking cookie will hold just as it does for eBay and other merchants that accept PayPal payments. The store is redirecting you to a payment service, rather than you navigating away from the store. Hope this makes sense :)

    My PayPal login or email id is different to my new service email id.

    • It means you need to provide some form of Id like a drivers licence, medicare or passport number. This is to prove that you are who you say you are when activating the service.

      Verification at the time of activation:

      Your service provider may use a range of approved methods to verify your evidence of identity documents at the point of activation. For example, they may check the name and unique details on a government-issued identity document such as a Medicare card, driver's licence or passport.

      Or they may verify the details of an existng post-paid or prepaid mobile account you already have e.g. your home phone or other mobile service.

      Or they may confirm your email address if it ends in .edu.au or gov.au.

      Or they may confirm your bank account details.

      Or they may deliver your service by secure courier or registered mail service to confirm your address.

      amaysim have told us the shipping time is 'within 7 business days' as stated in the OP. From experience, I've received in 2 or 3 days. trick is to order sooner rather than later I suppose :)

Will CashRewards still pay the cashback? I asked CR support but it might take up to 5 days for a reply! I note condition 8: amaysim SIMs bought from retail stores/outlets are excluded from cashback.           Hi Alvian. If it's lost in the mail, I can almost guarantee you the cashback will be declined by amaysim as the activated service needs to be against the SIM that was sent, not one that was purchased later. My suggestion (so you're not out of pocket) is to simply get on a chat session and request a refund.

        • @tightarse: Hi TA, today I received the $25 deal sim, but $21 sim never turned up. When I was trying to activate the sim in the account "active sim" button, it redirected to my account page. Then I tried the "online activation" on amaysim website, it asked me to input 13 digit sim number, which I did, then it asked me to select plan, select a new mobile number, input personal details again, then pay $10 again. So what's going on here???

        • @vhfyagi: Hi vhfyagi. In all honesty I have no idea with regards to the activation issue you're having. My suggestion is to jump on a chat session with amaysim and see what they say. I'm sure they can sort it out. If you're worried about the SIM that hasn't arrived, I suppose the best option may be to cancel and get a refund, so at least you're not out of pocket.

After reading the new posts, it looks to me that quite a number of people like me never receive the $21 deal sim and $25 deal sim has activation problems. It's not an isolated case. I have to say I start to question whether amaysim will honor the deal.

        • @vhfyagi: Hi again and thanks for the kind words. I received the SIM off the $21 deal within 3 business days and activated successfully online. I'll definitely be in there batting for you guys if anything goes wrong. But as I said above, some may want to consider the safer option. All the best :)

        • @tightarse: Live chat with amaysim, tried to get refund, but amaysim confirmed if getting $2 sim then activating it under online account, they still honor the cashback. Should I trust them? I kept the chat script.

        • @vhfyagi: HI vhfyagi. As I’ve said through both amaysim posts, the terms were agreed & given to us directly by amaysim (see note 8 in OP). Unfortunately I’m not in a position to give you 100% asssurance they will honour based on what you said above. All I can promise is that if they do decline, we (CR) will definitely chase up on your behalf when/if you contact us. Please keep your chat script as this will obviously be pivotal in an enquiry. Hope I’ve helped here a little :)

        • @tightarse: Thanks TA. I was trying hard to get a refund, but they kept saying it would be fine as the account was created using online ordering, not retail purchase. I don't know how easy or difficult other ppl are requesting refund. In my case amaysim is not willing to issue refund. They also offered to send the replacement sim, but that definitely will miss the 31/07 deadline. This $11 profit not big deal to me really. At least the $25 deal seems working at the moment. I am not out of pocket. I think I will just give $2 sim a try, if it's not working as promised then I got the chat transcript to fight for. Again, Thanks TA:)

    • Depends on your location. For Brisbane, SIMs have taken 4-6 days in orders in last 2 weeks.

      This would've been even better than the $9.95 as it's half priced, but it expired yesterday.

  • The CR Notifier turns Green upon visiting amaysim's "SIM-only mobile plans page", but then it turns off Green status after I clicked "buy now >" in "UNLIMITED 1GB $10/28 days" and it stays off throughout the subsequent purchase pages. Is CR tracking the purchase correctly? This is on Chrome without any ad blocker.

    Busy time at Amaysim with so many offers. Delivery has taken up to 6 days to Brisbane in last 2 weeks.

    I've got a so many free 4 x 28d 1GB SIMs for family in Amaysim emails. And that other cashback business's offer ($20 cashback on 2.5/15GB 28d). (Sorry TA!) Others took up the Groupon offer (6 x 28d 1GB).

    All the various offers are to be activated by Monday 31/7. So best not to count on porting & activation system working 100% on last day.

    PORTING can normally take up to 3 business days according to Amaysim. You can start the transfer at any time, however transfers will only become active between 8am - 8pm (AEST) Monday to Friday and 10am - 6pm (AEST) on Saturday.

    If not porting… SIM arrives activated. Just check account - will show countdown of days left. If everything shows ok (check for notifications & ID check etc), Cashback should be sent without even using SIM.

    I don't think I can use all the Amaysim SIMs I already have. May use just for Data (& cashback). Losing track of which SIM goes with which offer (may not matter).

      • Receive a SIM today for the later $25 deal instead of the $21 one! Try to activate this SIM and after putting in the id, it says "Shipping soon. Your SIM card is packed and ready for delivery. We'll email you when it's sent". Live chat I suppose…

        • Same here. Received $25 deal one but not $21 deal one. Live chat saying the $21 sim was sent out on the day of order (18 July). The guy wanted me buy $2 sim then transfer $21 deal number over, then credit $12 total back to me.

        • @keongperak: I would ask for a refund in light of what TA said in https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/6196089/redir. I noticed he hasn't replied to your slightly different situation, perhaps you wish to ask him again. My view is that I am not that desperate for $11 that I am willing to gamble $10 on it.

          If amaysim can stuff up the delivery of one SIM card and the activation of another, who can guarantee it won't stuff up the delivery and activation of its replacement, and affixing the new SIM number to your amaysim and CashRewards transactions?
