I'm surprised that no-one's mentioned the cancellation clause:
Cancellation of Membership. You may terminate your membership at any time with 7 days’ notice by emailing [email protected]. Following any cancellation you will continue to have access to your membership through the end of the then current Membership Cycle and must, prior to the end of the then current Membership Cycle, pay us any amounts owing.

Anyway, I hope it works out for everyone - and you're not just gouged with additional fees.

    • Thanks! MealPal are horrible when it comes to T&Cs and cancellations.
Looks like this is message coming up for some people - emailed them and they cancelled it for me within a few hours.

    • Even though I cancelled online immediately I also sent an email with only 6 days notice. They have confirmed the cancellation so I at least have something in writing…

  • really?

  • Just signed up. Not seeing the offer.

Did you use the link above? It should redirect to https://mealpal.com/1yeardownunder/ - the pricing is shown after you insert your email but before you insert payment details.

    • +1

It should come up as the first thing you get after you setup an email+password, if not try again (didn't get it the first time either :/)

      • +1

Confirmed user error code ID101T. Thanks guys. All good.

  • can I sign up then cancel right away? or do I cancel after I have ordered 5 meals

    • u can cancel straight away. i just did it and ordered my first meal.

      • If you cancel straight away after the 1st order, would you lose the remaining 4 meals?

        • I just ordered and then cancelled. I still have the rest of the meals.

        • @dineshjain: Ok thanks, will try it out

        • @dineshjain: How to cancel? Do i have to call or send an email?

        • +2

@a139013891378: You can cancel on their site but it is buried. Do the following to cancel:

My Account > Change plan for next cycle > Hold or cancel my account > Cancel account > Cancel anyway

        • @vt: should be added to the post as a very important guide. Thanks

  • +2

    FYI

You are currently on the 5 MEAL LUNCH PLAN.
You have 5 MORE MEALS left in your cycle that ends 19 JUN 2018

    • So you have 5 business days left to order 5 more meals?

      • Yes, then from 20 Jun they put you on the normal plan (unless you cancel before then)

        • Thanks! U just saved me for signing up something I wont be able to use

        • +1

Hey, do you know how to cancel it?

        • @gamesdead: You can cancel on their site but it is buried. Do the following to cancel:

My Account > Change plan for next cycle > Hold or cancel my account > Cancel account > Cancel anyway

so need to be 5 consecutive days? i only need monday to friday only. if i join now can i start using it from tomorrow for 5 times?

    • really? i just ordered two and it worked some how

    • can we order only 1 per day or more?
also, should it be consecutive days or can i skip few days in between ?

  • +3

5 meals usage period appears to start tomorrow and finish mid next week so to make the most of all 5 meals, u goto order every day for this period. Note u can only order 1 meal per day - source: existing customer :)

    • seems to be available even today for me. Just that selection will be limited for today.

      • +1

Pretty sure u have to place your order by 9:30am if u want to make an order for each day so doubt u can still order for today?

        • +1

I really did just ordered, I was surprised too.
Belle's chicken seems to be off the list, I'm a bit disappointed. I used to order this during my first mealpal subscription.

        • @akte:

Belles has been gone for ages

        • @alebox: Yeah, after I cancelled the first subscription, I haven't been back for a long long time. They are really good chicken….

        • +2

          @akte:

I found they've really gone downhill. I went there last week and found the chicken had no flavour and had no crunch and the coating had no flavour. Only taste was salty. I reckon they were really good when they were just a pop up.

There a are a number of korean fried chickens but I would recommend Sparrows Mill on Liverpool St as the best one.

        • @alebox: Agreed. When they first opened up their pop-up, the size of each chicken piece was larger as well.

        • @alebox: Thanks, will definitely try those out!

    • ok good will join today and start ordering tomorrow hopefully can use full 5x (ie last day next week tuesday)

    • have you tried ordering 2 meals from different places on same day before? Looking at these selections, one meal isn't enough for me

      • +1

you can't. you can only order 1 meal per day. some meals are bigger than others

  • -1

Shame the meals end at 1.45 pm. I threw away my first meal thinking I could fly there in time (before realising my superhuman abilities are in my mind).

Shame it's only the CBD in Sydney. Shame I spent a dollar before researching what I'm buying. Shame on me.

  • thanks OP 1 week of lunch for $1 you saved me ~$50!

    • What do you spend 50 on?

      • lunches and "dessert" :)

        • +2

i dont get it. lunch costs $10/meal. OP saved me that for 5 days

  • Surprised this didn't go onto the main page, 5 meals for $1! (as long as you cancel). you just cannot go wrong at that price

    • -7

if the food dirty you might get food poisoning and that is big wrong

      • +1

Mealpal has all the decent lunch spots. they dont do the takeaways from the random dirty food court

        • +1

well they do Hunters ;) I personally find hunters not bad though especially at the price point

        • @alebox: only one place or two. It’s still $10 a meal there. Not exactly cheap

  • Available for Melbourne too

  • If you are already a member can you create a brand new account with a different email address to get this offer?

    • They sent me a "reactivation" link today that had the same offer. Perhaps check your inbox?

      • do you know if this allows you to cancel before the 30 day plan? seems unclear in the ts and cs

        • It says "Cancel anytime" in the email. When I tried to cancel on the website it said you had to give 7 days notice. Emailed them and they cancelled it for me.

  • Im stuck on the address screen, I click ready to eat and nothing happens. I already paid

  • -1

I signed up. No restaurants in my works area and only doing lunches. waste of a buck. gonna try get a refund haha.

    • sell it to me.
      $1.50
      50% profit

      kidding

      • ill hit the city on the weekend. get a couple things. 20 bucks worth of food for a buck, great.

        • Nah. It's "meant" to be once a day and weekdays only. Lucky I only threw away $1 or I'd be spewing. I'm forcing myself to go to the CBD now…

        • those (profanity) (profanity). (profanity) weekdays? utter cock.

  • +1

I signed up with an old gift card with a couple of bucks left!

  • I start work at 6pm, can I pick up my meal after 5pm?

    • From memory the last pickup time is 1.45pm

  • great, thanks, it works just like Classpass.

  • Got this offer via email… I had an old account with Mealpal….

  • just worked for me

    • +3

my first ever $0.20 proper lunch meal in my entire life

  • When I was trying to cancel the plan they offered me a flexible 12 meal plan which does not expire, I will be only charged once I have had all 12 meals, I thought it is pretty good deal, it works out to be just over $8 something for a meal without monthly commitment.

    • 8 is pretty good but i wish we can order from the restaurant normal menu, not just 1-2 specially made for mealpal customers. some people complained that restaurant made those slightly smaller (not sure why maybe because their profit is less when customer order via mealpal).

if they can guarantee we get the same treatment or portion like other normal customers, i will get that plan

      • I agree, just picked up today's lunch and it is much smaller than the photo! Will see how it goes once I've tried all 5 different restaurants, the meal I had yesterday was pretty large. Not sure how much mealpal pay them for each meal, don't think they earn much profit through mealpal, maybe great for new restaurants who need customers.

        • yes, just same like groupon, they will treat differently just like 2nd class citizen

  • this should be marked as "Expired". cant see that on link anymore.

  • @spk, it worked for me.

@ Any Melbourne users, what restaurants and dishes have you enjoyed previously?

    • my bad.. didnt realise need to register to get this deal.

hopefully it will last till tomorrow.. as am planning to sign up tomorrow to make max use on all 5 working days.

      • On concreteplayground it said the expiry date is midnight June 18 but Mealpal says it expires at midnight tonight (which could technically mean the same second but it's hella confusing).

    • Hey, joined for this $1 promo, been to Mason & Dixon, and Charlie & Co.
Sauce on M&D nice, the meat in C&Co burger was supreme. I am no foodie but it is a decent cut of meat, or some fancy pants restaurant trick. I think the C&Co deal was awesome, and would recommend it!
I am going to go out on a limb and say I reckon Mealpal makes it's money by either paying the restaurants a portion of menu price, or relies on days missed by users, or both!
Anyway, I like the deal, but living out of CBD and having to come in twice so far just to try the deal is already a hassle. If you are in CBD M-F I think it would work well, so as long as menu is larger!
Thanks to M&D and C&Co so far, have enjoyed.

  • anyone else get jipped on the last of the 5 meals?
The system locked me out after I chose and did not get an email confirmation either

  • my last day of $0.20 meal…
    so sad….

see you all next year $2 for 5x meals

  • Did anyone sign up to mealpal on the $50 coles gift card promotion?

I signed up on 21 March on the 12 meal plan - and so have completed 3 cycles of the plan now - but still have not received the gift card!

Can anyone confirm how long it took for them to receive the gift card, or did they even send the gift card out at all?

Is the gift card promotion a lie just to get people to sign up?

    • Got the gift card from signing up - but they refused it for a colleague

  • so this is expiry now?

  • did someone manage to cancel the account?
i put mine on hold thinking to cancel after getting 5 meals.
now i dont see the "cancel" option at all - it just gives me option to extend the hold, but not cancel

    • +1

i can. will do it now as i type. log in into website using laptop not mobile.
click my plan or something like that.
just follow the change plan button, cancel or hold, and cancel anyway (right side below the big buttons). but but but:

      WAIT-A-MELON
Please note that if you choose to come back to MealPal, a $19 reactivation fee may apply.
      CANCEL ANYWAY
      HOLD INSTEAD

who cares. they think people will pay 19 to get back their account, dreaming!@#$@%#$
      cancelled
actually see review on the google app, many complaining they auto renew, small portion, etc etc. not a good company.

      and:…
Your account is set to cancel on 28 Jun 2018.
      We’re sorry to see you go. You will be able to use your remaining meals until 28 Jun 2018. Please help us improve by sharing your feedback;
How likely are you to recommend us to your pals? NOPE

      the end…
