Update:

  • Item was discontinued and was put on clearance.
  • Initial online orders that were put in before they ran out of the stock in their warehouse will be fulfilled.
  • Orders after the stock ran out will not be fulfilled as they usually can put another order in from the manufacturer but as it's a discontinued, they can't get more stock.
  • People who put in an order early but chose click and collect will get it if the local store had stock. If no stock, you wont get nothing as the warehouse ran out of the stock fairly quickly with online orders and deliveries.

how come votes went from 570'ish to 600 today ? makes no sense to me….!

    • +2

Geeez you must really lose sleep over likes to neg a expired post 5 days later lol

      • +1

naah mate, I sleep less… I have OzBargain syndrome.
but 600+ votes for a never existed deal is just not correct and I just cannot stand that.

        • +3

One unobtainable deal got so many upvotes & went over 17k clicks. When I pointed out it was unobtainable (to avoid the usual outrage & disappointment), I got thoroughly negged - especially after the deal failed😞

Questioning unfathomable OzBargain voting - never advisable!

        • @Infidel: i can feel it mate

  • got mine CANCELLED after kept open for 3 days. Did anyone actually received one at all?

    • At least one for @ElderlyMango. Not sure about others but we could presume OP got one, and others not on this site too

      • I didn't order one left it for Ozb's

        • +2

Yet still bothered to post it here. Kudos! Thanks!

  • Is anyone else having problems getting the refund?

PayPal refund was finalised on Monday. Could see the +295 in my statement on my PP account that day, but nothing has come through to my bank account yet.

    • Mine took a few days to show back up in my card even though PP showed it already.

    • I paid via card directly. I got the cancellation email on Monday. I just checked my card statement, the money came back in on Monday as well.

I guess the holdup must be at PayPal.

      • Yeah it's strange, normally PayPal has the funds back into my bank account the next day after a refund and now it's close to a business week.

I have got a few disputes from other sellers happening on eBay at the moment. Maybe it's got something to do with that. Received a 240v AC lamp with a LED lamp - plugged it in to have sparks shooting out of it. Seller wants me to film the fault for him. I told him I'm not risking being electrocuted or burning down my place to get footage of it. He won't send me a return postage lable, and I won't pay to return it to him.

Had another dispute last week where a seller sold ~20 items falsely advertised, received a lot of bad feedback, I must have been the only idiot who was willing to return it to him using his return label shipping. I went to the effort of packaging it (costed a few bucks to get a padded envelope at post office), only for a week later to realise that he put fake return shipping details. After a week I checked the tracking information and was sitting in an Auspost depot for a week before I was able to convince eBay support that the scam seller sent me a scam return address.

Was thinking of making an OZB topic on how there are dodgy sellers are scamming buyers with the new return system, as there's plenty of comments about buyers scamming sellers using it, but not the other way around.

        • Wow, what's the point of putting a fake return address? Won't you get your money back anyway?

        • +1

          @eug:

Yes, but only after making 10x complaints to eBay. Their policy is to only get involved once the tracking has shown it's been sent back to the seller. There's no option to escalate the claim in the return section of the site until after it's delivered. If it never shows delivered, dodgy sellers can bank on people either forgetting about it, or not wanting to have to contact eBay customer service directly.
