Update:

  • Item was discontinued and was put on clearance.
  • Initial online orders that were put in before they ran out of the stock in their warehouse will be fulfilled.
  • Orders after the stock ran out will not be fulfilled as they usually can put another order in from the manufacturer but as it's a discontinued, they can't get more stock.
  • People who put in an order early but chose click and collect will get it if the local store had stock. If no stock, you wont get nothing as the warehouse ran out of the stock fairly quickly with online orders and deliveries.

        • you still need the optional camera for that. I love that you can point this at a desk for interactive display!

        • I think the camera that looks for pen or finger is an option not included.

        • @TheLurker: Yes, I was trying to find out where I could buy it.

  • what did I just buy

    • a leather jock strap

      Hope and optimism.

      • Bargain!

  • I really shouldn't have - but I did anyway.
The worst that can happen is a delayed refund… Maybe Officeworks is trying to pump turnover for the next week before all the reversals.

    • EOFY clearances see stuff like this from them lots. Especially if nexts years is a 4K model.

      • Agreed .. If there is new model coming with lots of new features then this model is obsolete.

  • Bought one just because of the 400+ upvotes.

    • You can't go wrong with 200+ or even 100+ so with 400+, you gotta order one!

      • You can, because more votes means more orders means it’s less likely they’ll honour it.

  • +2

Mine shows estimated delivery 5 June, I'm in Sydney.

    • Mine too. Although i chose click and collect. Let the waiting game begin hmm

  • tempted - could tell the wife it fell off the back of a truck….but i'm not game. Let me know if this actually arrives - only then will i feel FOMO

  • +5

Didn't have to research. Rule of thumb, if a deal reaches 100+ votes, just BUY!

    • +2

An exception to that rule of thumb is when $400+ Dyson vacuum cleaners get posted that performs worse than a Kmart $89 vacumm cleaner.

      • +5

Everyone knows that for vacuum cleaners you go Miele or you go home.

      • I regret spending $250 or whatever it was on my Dyson. It’s good for the car and that’s it.

        • I think you mean "It's good for the ca… time to recharge"

        • +1

Since I got my DC59, I've stopped using my $99 cheapo vac. The battery lasts long enough to do my whole unit. Very happy with it, will gladly buy another cordless Dyson when this dies.

Showing as Temporarily Out of Stock now.

    • yep it's dead jim!

    • +1

getting the same out of stock message now, good job OzB enjoy your refunds lol

    • I'm not getting that message via the direct link and can still add the item to my cart. Realistically this deal expired 2 hours 45 minutes ago, though.

    • +1

Well, they did just “sell” 10,000 units.

Imagine that. That’s $2,950,000. They put that in an account at 2% and a month later make $5,000, then cancel the orders due to pricing error.

  • So, let's say we actually get this - what's the best thing to do for watching movies?

Paint the wall with a matte finish? Make a screen? Buy a screen?

I have grey walls with itty bitty nail head bulges.

    • i would just get a used one from gumtree or something…

    • white or just off walls are fine

    • +1

If it's the same as my Benq W710ST there's an option in the menu for wall colour. I think you set set light yellow or light blue and it tries to adjust colours to suit. Of course it's not perfect but it's better than nothing.

    • Bought a 155” motorised projector screen on eBay for $127 (~$121 after 5% off) from “bigonion6”. Was delivered in 2 working days. Had a 120” version previously that’d lasted 4 years but was looking a bit worn. Very happy with the new 3m wide screen.

  • out of stock ?

    • So it would seem. Now we wait…

  • How is this still on sale?!

If it's a pricing error, surely they should have picked it up by now.

If not, do they have unlimited stock?

    Someone has dropped the ball.

    • If not, do they have unlimited stock?

      Definitely

      • +1

Made this comment the exact time it went out of stock… haha

    • +1

Someone was probably on a longer lunch break.

  • +8

Out of stock. Well. That ran for about 2 hours too long.

  • Out of stock now. So sad

  • Just called them was told his item doesn’t exist, no stock online or in store, think it’s a error.

    • +20

How dare you destroy everyone's hopes

      • +1

I called them and they said it was a clearance item and subject to availability. And if it was in stock they would dispatch.

        • So I guess, people who order first 15 mins may actually get it.

        • Does anyone know if there is any difference between delivery to home or C&C officeworks?
Does home delivery get prioritised or the other way around, or is it just ordered time basis.

        • @AshFon: I ordered in the first 29 minutes (with 70 votes)

        • @Gharvey Snruff: doesn't matter any more. Cannot track order online, it says "Your order can not be tracked. Please call Officeworks to track your order.".

        • @AshFon: I got one when there was only 5 or 6 comments on the post… Hopefully you are right.

    • Shortly after the deal was posted (and purchasing one) I went to my local store to actually buy one so I didn't miss out, and while there was no stock in any OW shops, it exists in their system using their SKU.

I was able to get the lady to ring up the item on the little PDA thing they carry around and see if there was any stores around Melbourne I could go buy it from. Looking at the inventory, there were no shops with it in stock but it was listed as in stock online.

      • +1

Lady on the phone said they’re on backorder from the supplier. So doubt they have any stock and the supplier won’t provide more I bet.

Someone picked a bad day to take a long lunch!

"Wow we sold a lot of projectors today……..wait a minute……F&*#!"

  • +3

There's no way this deal is being honoured

  • Out of stock? Just added one to cart, C&C 30th May..

  • If that's the case. Can't even pricematch their own website. Low energy.

I already got 4 TVs at home which i barely use (thanks to ozb) & now this….i need help!!

  • +2

Please report back if anyone actually gets their order.

    • Yep, in 3-4weeks time we will all have that marked on our calendar's

  • What's the history with officeworks and pricing errors? Do they normally get honoured?

    • How are they going to honour 10000 projectors?

      • +22

        With great honour.

      • Im assuming you're one of the few that didn't buy one

        • I got one (I hope) early on like 12:30.

  • +2

my order status shows "Your order can not be tracked. Please call Officeworks to track your order"

    • +1

"Your order cannot be tracked. Please consult the deity of your choice for answers. If you receive a reply, seek professional help."

    • Same here. I think they will start to cancel the orders.

    • Same. Where previously it listed all the applicable info. Not looking promising

    • +1

      Incoming butthurt

  • +3

You reckon afterpay are mad yet?

    • Afterpay fee is non-refundable, not sure if Officeworks has to pay this out of pocket fee if they decide to cancel all the orders.

  • Well someone’s gonna loose their job today.

    • +7

      *lose

      • +3

Maybe the scope of their responsibilities are about to get a bit looser.

      • +3

Maybe they are going to become loose as a result of the way they performed their job today?

        • i guess that depends if they have sold out of lube or not…

        • @homersyd:
in that case getting loose would be a big lose

  • +2

So bummed I missed this. I hope everyone who got on to it has their order fulfilled!

  • Your order can not be tracked. Please call Officeworks to track your order.

LOL awaits the very sorry about that cancellation email …

  • Class action for pettiness.

  • If it hasn't been shipped yet you can't track it, no?

    • +2

Was showing proper tracking info 30mins ago. Prob means they are going to disgrace a community of cheapskates and cop a worse rep on here than they have.

      • +2

I'll still love em, going into OW is always a good time.

        • +1

          Looking for those yellow tags!

We will all throw our Eneloops at them!

Then go and pick them up because they are rechargeable.

If anyone is interested, I purchased this projector from Officeworks about 6 weeks ago on clearance for $995. Shortly after my purchase the item disappeared from the web site so I assumed that meant no more stock.
The fact that it has re-appeared on site weeks later makes me think that they have sourced more stock from somewhere.
Now using this as my first home theater projector. Protecting on a 100inch screen at about 45cm from the wall.
Don't expect too much from this unit. Even when properly tuned the contrast is pretty bad. In dark movie scenes you can barely make out what's happening.
In bright scenes it works reasonably well but keep in mind its not designed for home theater usage so don't expect wonders.
I was also surprised to find that the projector included the wall mounting bracket.
It all came in a very large box. Inside were two further retail cartons, one containing the projector and the second box containing the wall mount bracket.
My projector is sitting upright on a cabinet directly in front of the screen. Nice and neat. Much better than having to run cables up the wall and through the roof and having to cut holes in the ceiling.
I've purchased another today since it works out about the same price as buying the projector lamp alone. Good luck everyone.

    • +8

Thanks for that. So it's not the greatest ever.

I'd upvote your post, but for the first time ever I've gone over the amount of positive votes I can do and now get a message that I'm banned from upvoting for 24 hours when trying to upvote. Turns out the limit is 36 upvotes in a day.

Jeez ozbargain, let us spread the love.

    • +1

Protip, get a grey screen, contrast will be far better.
Good to hear it was lower than the expected $1295. Means this could be legit. Ex gov/school refurb units from benq? I'm stupidly hopeful anyway.

    • To add to this, I scored one of those now ill-fated ZTE Axon 7 for under $300 (on clearance) when they used to sell for around $700, so hopefully this deal is legit…

  • +3

After partaking in the previous 5 cancellations across different stores, decided to stay out of this one.

Hope your orders are fulfilled and I am just the bad luck charm!
