Someone posted as deal for the QC3 charger, while looking I noticed that one with a type C PD port was on special, better for those need USB C and are happy with the other 4 ports being IQ. Careful on checkout to get the free postage, mine came to $25 AU after currency conversion, and it is card dependent so some might get a better conversion than me.

No AU power lead option, so get US and bend pins, or ebay for a figure 8 AU cable.

No coupon needed, so I guess when stock runs out price goes up.

I don't post often so be gentle.

  • These are fantastic. I love my one. I use it to charge my Chromebook Pixel.

  • These unfortunately can't charge Xiaomi Air notebooks

  • Would PD enabled chargers support QuickCharge 3 devices?

(Will this charge a Samsung Note 8?)

    Thanks.

    • No. Different tech so the type C port will still charge your Note 8 but only at standard speeds, not quick charge. There's a similar one here (which I've just ordered myself) that has a QC3.0 port instead of type C that would quick charge your Note 8: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/367034

I have one of these, and it’s great. Just hoping they release a 45W PD model!

Would love one that was 1x45W PD, 1x15W USB-C, 3x USB-A (30W shared would be fine, to keep it under 90W total, but 1x QC port would be nice!)

so get US and bend pins

I had a good laugh at how safe that could potentially be.

Yeah I was thinking bend the power pins?
I think it'd be much safer to grab some fencing wire, shove one end in the socket & wrap the other end around the pins. And it could act like an extension cord! It'll also teach the kids not to grab wires.

      • bending the pins wouldn't be my first choice, I bought 10 x fig 8 AU power cords on ebay, so I'm covered for years to come.

But some people think the china power plug is the same as AU, it's similar but not the same.

        • I assumed it was a joke. Yeah I've got heaps of old figure 8 power cords lying around. The annual hard Rubbish festival has begun so there'll be a few more added soon.

The Chinese ones work fine for me. The slightly long prongs shouldn't be a probably, I've heard their slightly thinner, but I can't see it and there's no probs with them staying firmly plugged in for me. Maybe if your power board/point doesn't have firm contacts.

  • I absolutely hate Tonsmart and Geekbuying woeful aftersales warranty.

My second charger that decided to die…. Its so difficult to get any support or answer from them.

If it wasnt for Clear i wouldnt have gotten a single reply from them. They wanted me to post a video of the problem which i have. After that… Nothing. Went on their chat and the person tells me they are replying now….. A couple of days later…Nothing… Did they mean now as in next years same day… now?

    • Agreed butt they did replace it in my case, I think thedelays are in being the supplier to fund the replacement.

Once again we have china bashing …..
yep, you need to embrace the chinese culture, supply chain, (don't embrace the tourists, just make them feel welcome , embrace would be sexual harrasement, ask Weinstein) it's a bit racist differentiating our consumer laws or their customer service as not being as good as ours and what is expected,

seriously, these smaller items cost so much to send back and track I just bin them,
At least on ebay they typically refund and tell you bin smaller value items …. cost too much to post and track from Australia.

        • grow up! nothing in any of the above statements had any china bashing!

The Tronsmart 90W U5TF Titan Plus 5 wasn't exactly loose change as it was $29.99USD

The other tonsmart that i binned was over a year ago and paid $20+ aud for it.

i don't think anybody expects the same level of warranty service as in au! but i'll tell u, if they speak of any warranty backing on their products they sell to au (especially to ozb community) then i expect them to prove it! else my wallet will always be speaking louder!

    • The Kogan one doesn't mention anything about PD on the type C port so it'd be safe to assume it doesn't have it. Also it mentions that each port is 12W max, while the type C connector on this charger is 30W so you might be best going with this one if you're planning to make good use of the type C port.

  • Damn, out of stock, need another one! :(
