be aware that MAC OSX 10.12 above no longer support this res.
i brought the 25 version and it didnt support it and lucky the audio fail i can return it

    • That's good to know, thanks

    • Mine still works OK on 10.12/10.13 (Dell 29", 2560x1080), both DisplayPort (MBP 13 2009) and HDMI (MB 12 2015).

      • What dongle are you using with the MB?

        • Well I'm using the original Apple 3in1. Does this make any difference? I had thought they all share the same chip inside.

        • At the time of my post I wondered if it was HDMI across the board or something else but it seems the incompatibility only affects LGs with HDMI.

As I understand it, USB-C can carry a HDMI or DisplayPort and the negotiation for what to carry has to take place up front (mostly). So if say you had an adapter that did USB-C to HDMI and DisplayPort, it might work by registering as DisplayPort with the host and then converting that to HDMI if you plugged it in to a HDMI device. That's notable because if say you had an incompatibility between the MB and Dell HDMI implementations, you might get around that by introducing a dongle that does an active DisplayPort to HDMI conversion. (The same thing probably applies in a passive vs active DP++ to HDMI scenario.)

      • both my 2012 mac mini and 2013 imac fail to use the res in the 25 in version
i read it on line and find that it was the case for a lot of Macs. google that up if you dont believe me. i have tried all cables even purchased adaptors from online. all the HDMI or display port fail with the 25 in version.
it was a shock and utter disappointment coming from Mac. force me to buy 16:9 mons instead

      just to name a few
Mac should not require users to go in to advance level operations like windows would with their latest win10 old apple like auto update dictatorship.
But ever since CookieBoy takes control, Mac is just as bad.

I have tried all of the suggestions and none work for my Mac mini (s) nor my iMac.

      • It is possible LG's driver differs from Dell's. Aside from colour adjustment and sleep/wake state (only when using HDMI), the 29" dell works OK for me.

    • Just my input…from another post

      My LG Ultrawide works fine.

I am using 2017 iMac with USB-C to HDMI adapter from JB.

The iMac can recognize the correct resolution 2560*1080 and everything just works.

PS: I am running latest version 10.13.2

Scorptec has is for 5c cheaper until 31st (including delivery)

I have the 29UM68 (Freesync + DP input) and it's a great monitor. It's about the same height as a 23"-24" 16:9 monitor.

Damn, oh well I can live with that. I couldn't find it for less than $350 a few days ago.

    • +1

A lot of computer stores charge an extra processing fee for credit card/Paypal etc. Not sure if Scorptec does but I'd go with this deal just because of that.

EDIT: Yep, definitely not worth it.

      VISA/Mastercard attracts a 1.0% surcharge, and Amex a 2.0% surcharge.

      • +1

        I think it's 1% for credit-card, but direct deposit/paypal/bpay/pickup have no surcharge

Wasn't serious about the 5c difference, but if you're in Melbourne might be more convenient

  • Is this monitor any good?
