Posting this as Officeworks were a pain to deal with for price match.

I know not the cheapest but thought this might be useful for anyone looking a replacement immediately - my k580 had a couple keys fail on me in the last month and I prefer the lower profile for work.

Same price for the 2 different colour variations https://amzn.asia/d/hGj6QZz

Officeworks will price match - if it is stocked and sold by Amazon Australia. (The store I went to the sales associate said absolutely not, I said that's not true I did my research on ozbargain, he then had to ask someone else who confirmed it, and the final person checked the price on their phone somewhat reluctantly…)

idk why they care about price matching they act like its coming out of there pay check. id price match anything if i worked in retail. probably why i dont haha

If it's such a hassle, Officeworks should just not have the price beat policy. If you adopt price beating as a strategy, make sure your staff do it with a smile.

In this case no idea since its perfectly valid. But in general: Because it gets checked. Theyre worried about getting a call from head office with a please explain.

  • I'm in the market for a new keyboard and am interested to know why these particular Logitech are so expensive?

I have had a Satechi, have been very happy with it and recommended it to others many times.

    Edit:

Are these bluetooth only or can they be wired via USB-C?

    • +2

These work via USB C. Solid feeling keyboard. Battery lasts for months without recharge. I use it for my mac mini and tv. When turning it off it interferes with bluetooth headphones for about 4 seconds. That's the only complaint i have and it is very minor.

    • Satechi is a pretty good brand too. I was considering the keychron b6 but the general consensus is the Logitech is that much better so I didn't bind paying double… will claim it off tax

For me I've used keychron and then shifted to this exact keyboard is because it can have 3 connection profiles which you can switch between by pressing a button. So i use the same keyboard for my work laptop and home pc and when required, with other devices.

It is for those who between working fulltime and studying at uni full time would easily spend an average of 70 hours a week infront a computer during study periods.

At that point you start reluctantly become willing to spend premium $$$ for any gain you can get from a comfort, ergonomic and or efficiency perspective from any of tools you use. With this keyboard you’ll certainly get a lot more across all 3 of those things compared to $5 keyboard.

A keyboard is only like any other keyboard when you spend 20 minutes a day infront of a computer looking up bargains and watching cat videos on YouTube.

  • This keyboard is really nice to use for long-term computer work. I don't like the noisy sound of the keyboard.
I changed to this keyboard in the company before.
I'm very satisfied with it. Now I'm working from home.
Originally, the keyboard was also taken home for use, otherwise I would buy one more for home use.

it looks solid as an budget option

  • Picked it up from officeworks after price matching Umart who had it for $129. Seems they are out of stock aside from Tasmania.

    • It's 155 for mx keys s. Only the mx keys was $129 - that's a diff model https://www.rtings.com/keyboard/tools/compare/logitech-mx-ke…

I was just going to ask this thanks.

so S gets auto-brightness backlighting, different shortcuts, and uses Logi BOLT receiver instead of Logi Unifying.
also in the brightness in dark photos, looks like the old MX keys gets brighter but I heard it kills the battery life. so MX keys S with auto-brightness with a less bright maximum should be better for battery.
they also seem to make typing noise quieter on the S and it has lower latency too.

I'm really happy with the latency on my Logi Keys to Go 2 and this is connected with bluetooth so no receiver. I can barely tell there is any latency. also it takes a few seconds to switch between devices but it smartly keeps the keys you typed in memory, so even if you type too early everything you type all comes out in one go and still gets to the device. great quality and experience as always from logitech.

the only complaint I have is after customizing some top row shortcuts with the Logi options+ software, they don't save to the keyboard it's only in the software. so if I switch to device 2 and press the shortcut it only has the default function.

  • I have this paid a similar price via OW price match in Jan, worth the money

  • This one or a keychron?

    • Keychron for customisation, reliability, features

This is if you don't give a s*** about any of those.

      • Which keychron? There's so many. I want with numpad

        • Depends on your budget. Factor in the cost of your switches and keycaps if you go the barebones route (would highly recommend)

Just look for any that are '100%' - meaning they are the full sized layout with numpad.

        • Keychron B6 Pro or B1 Pro. it is the most similar to the MX Keys in this deal and MX keys mini.

  • My 5 year old K380 died last week and saw this looking for a replacement. Ended up going out on a limb and ordering a $33 Rapoo USB-C charging bluetooth keyboard with numberpad. So far so good. Excellent value (so long as it lasts a few years).

  • Curious, what kind of battery life to people get out of theirs?

I use mine on bluetooth, 8 hours every week day - and I'm lucky if I get 3-4 weeks between charges…

    • and I'm lucky if I get 3-4 weeks between charges…

      that sounds good.

especially if you use backlighting I heard some peoples MX keys getting only hours not weeks.
