Why would more people not buy from harvey norman with 2x amex deals? Works out to $599. I did it today with split payment.
I didn't neg you but say you bought an $1000 Visa card from HN and used that to pay for this eBay deal. That would mean this would be close to $500.
Even if you did not use the Visa card - I would rather pay $40 more and get an $1000 Visa card for $800 on top. Technically you're spending more (as well as saving more) but the Visa card can be used for anything.
Not everyone got to enrol two amex cards at Harvey Norman. And if you did enrol amex, you may have already used it on a ipad or other stuff.
That should give answer your first question.
Personally I'd rather save $100 on a ipad, rather than $40 (less than this offer) on 2 separate amex cards.
I really want to get a proper coffee machine and I hear this one is the best. However I don't know what the effort is to make a good coffee with these manual machines. I have a friend that is really into his coffee and has a 4K coffee machine. He lives a very busy life and most of the time can't wait 20 minutes for it to heat up and settles for instant coffee. How long does it take to heat up the water on this machine? I am a total newbie when it comes to coffee machines, however I do love a good cup of coffee.
That guy doesn't really like coffee then and spending 4k was a status wank or a terrible mistake. ;) Instant isn't coffee :P
I have this breville and it takes about 5 minutes to heat up. Maybe another 2 or 3 for the steam boiler. It however also has an auto on timer. So mine just turns itself on at 6.30am and it's fully warmed up including the cups on top of it well before I get up at 7am.
Absolutely, why spend $4k on a machine and chose to drink instant.
I have a Saeco espresso machine that I’ve used for the past 15 years. It was a $500 machine at the time but nowhere near as cool as these Breville machines, and requires some very particular attention to extract a good shot with consistency. I’m looking for a reason to replace it with something like this BES920 and this price brings it close but for now I can’t really justify replacing a machine that under my control (not my wife or overnight visitors) can make as good a cup as one of these, and I rarely do milk so the dual boiler is a bit unnecessary for me.
The appeal of these machines from what I have learnt is the ease of which they allow anyone to consistently make a good coffee without having to endure many dozens of bad shots just to figure out which way to hold your tongue. This is of course provided you start with good quality beans and the right grind.
Did you not consider he might have been trying to impress a girl with his ultra HD coffee machine, in which case he'd have no use for wanking.
Except after he shows her the machine and then offers her instant, she'll be walking out.

I read somewhere (can't find it now tho) that some people thought they aren't selling the machine without the grinder anymore, so maybe the machine only stock ran out.

If you still got Amex cards with the hn offer - my hn in act sold 2 for 1600 - across 4 Amex it came to 600 each after $400 Amex credits.

Bing Lee told me I could call them and arrange extended cover (I don't have this but have had a few machines over the years-coffee machines seem to be temperamental, so I thought it was a good idea)-but how do I get it repaired through their extended cover if I live in QLD? Any experiences?
