        • @Ndiddy: Sussed again today. They say payment only cleared on the Wednesday (paid with CC so BS). Not shipping today. Prob wont see at the earliest Monday 6th of Nov.

        • @Gringoesai:

Damn - That's annoying but mate + votes for you for sussing this out for everyone.

        • +1

@Ndiddy: got shipping confirmation via DHL on SMS. Should arrive Monday. No invoice/email etc from amaysim.Have not ordered anything else from Asia that would entail DHL.

        • @Gringoesai:

Nothing for me unfortunately :( When did you order?

        • @Ndiddy: Tuesday at about 3pm. Seems to be quite a back door operation. No email. Just a text from DHL. Sent Friday - arrived today. Pick up Monday

        • @Gringoesai:

Interesting ordered mine at 11:00PM Tuesday :)

Lets see if the text comes through tomorrow.

        • @Ndiddy: I googled the company it came from and its common practice for them to be unsealed maybe to filter out DOAs or something. No idea how to check if its new or used though. It looks new. I cant find the company name now, ill continue to look as found a whirlpool thread on them last week, some happy - some not. The phone looks brand new though. Plastic on both sides, phone didn't boot to a new phone - was all ready set up and had Dubai as the time zone etc.

        • @Gringoesai: That is not acceptable at all if it was already setup. I have ordered phones from Vaya, Mobileciti in past and have always received sealed boxes…If this comes unsealed and in open box I am definitely putting in a complaint with Amaysim.

        • +1

@kiwiinoz: Yeah I deffo didnt have to cut it. Wait until you receive yours. Film it when you open the DHL bag. As I said i found evidence of it on another thread from this company. No invoice either. The S8 box said not to receive if it was cut but didnt have much choice as it was in a bag. Anyway let me know how you go.

        • @Gringoesai: They tried to deliver to my parcel locker today and Toll do not deliver to parcel lockers so it was deliverable…Getting it delivered to my office address tomorrow…Will let you know how I go…Thanks

        • @kiwiinoz: Came from the company Rapid Supply C/O Fira Group located in HKG

        • @kiwiinoz: It's a bit hit or miss for grey import to come with unsealed box. But if the phone was already setup, that's really unacceptable. I used to order a galaxy S3 from Kogan, the seal was broken, but the phone was boot to setup.

        • +2

@Gringoesai: Try this app and see if it gives you any details:
          https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.…

    • I came on to ask the same question. Ordered Tuesday night and no updates just like everyone else reporting.

      • I ordered Tuesday night aswell. I chatted with them - payment was confirmed Wed morning. And they do state 2-5 business days to get everything ready. So we're still certainly within the timeframe (4 days since purchase, 3 days since payment was apparently reconciled). So I don't think anything is amiss here.

    • Received my shipping info from chat and it was shipped on 28th Oct from Hong Kong…Hopefully will receive it by this weekend as shipping is normally 5-7 days as per Amaysim chat support….Has anyone already received their's?

      • May I know if GST is included in ur invoice? Thanks

        • Here are details from invoice:
          Samsung Galaxy S8

          So no tax…

        • @kiwiinoz: Thanks so much!

  • +1

Received mine yesterday. Box was unsealed. No AU plugs so go buy a adapter if you dont have one. Im sure complaining to amaysim wont do much.

    • Unsealed box? I thought it was suppose to be a sealed box…

    • +1

Even no AU plug? That's really disappointing. I ordered S8 Blue color yesterday, the confirmation email linked to the order page, at the bottom "what should I know about amaysim stock?", it clearly printed "In all cases you will receive a solid local warranty, Australian plug or chargers and a device suitable for our network." What color is your S8? I paid through Paypal so worst case I should have paypal buyer protection.

      • Blue as well. Ill suss the app and check for how many times charged etc. Yeah I read the same thing. As mentioned it looks brand and feels brand new.

        • +1

I just had a word with the Amaysim and they confirmed it should be in a sealed box…

        • @kiwiinoz: I would hope so. No aussie plug and unsealed and already set up. Thats very poor.

        • Well if that's the case then I will accept it. You may want to contact them for AU adaptor. Just another question, can you confirm it is G950FD model as shown on their web?

        • @kiwiinoz: Hopefully they keep their words.

        • @vhfyagi: they are following up the power adaptor. Secondly supplied a 950f model and not dual SIM as ordered. Need to buy full Google Play app to check amount of times charged etc. Prob not gonna happen

        • @Gringoesai: actually scratch that. Phone settings says FD - app said F

        • @Gringoesai: FD is dual sim, should there be sim management in settings? Either way not a big deal. Australian stock is F version so should have B28.

    • Mine came today. The Samsung seal was cut, i.e. unsealed box, but they put an Amaysim sticker on-top explaining it may have been opened for 'quality checks'.
Mine had a Samsung UK adaptor in the box, but the bag the box came in also had a worldwide->Aus plug adaptor so no issues there.

Bit spooky to give an unsealed box IMO.

      Haven't booted the device yet.

      • How is the packaging and handling, very poor as described below? Have you booted the phone?

        • Mine was the exact same experience as timbertron's comment below..
bubble wrapped pretty well, on boot it went to new set-up but the settings app shows it's from UAE

        • @supbah: Good to know, thanks!

  • I bought last Tuesday and received an email to say it was shipped yesterday. The "track my item" button in the email, however, did not work. I followed up on live chat and they gave me the link straight away. Phone is currently on flight between HK and Australia. Live chat was very quick and easy. They dont seem to respond to email however. I emailed them over the weekend about possibly changing my colour and never heard back. I ordered the blue one.
Also in 'my dashboard' it says the phone cost $9999!!!!

    • +1

      You have special edition!!!

      • Best bargain ever!

        • Absolutely:)

  • I ordered a note8 and it arrived yesterday. Sent by DPEX/Toll.

The phone's box is in the plastic satchel with NO protection. Zero bubble wrapping and there are knocks and marks on the box.bloody hell it's a 1000 phone with glass everywhere. Spend 5c and put some bubble wrap on it.

Box does not have original seal and only a amaysim seal to say item might have been opened to check for defects. Fingerprint smudges everywhere.

No invoice in package so I called them. 2 hours later I got sent an invoice. It does have GST but the GST component doesn't align with the cost of phone. Will chase them up today since now the phone might have suffered damage and sudden crack or break 2month down the track.

Was everyone's package protected inside the satchel?

    Pretty poor experience.

    • fuuuuuuuck that,
how would you go about getting a refund if you paid by paypal?
(honestly never refunded anything in my life)

      • contact the seller, if seller agrees refund then wait for them to do it at their end through paypal. Otherwise open a dispute I think.

      • That's bad experience, very disappointing.

      • Now I'm really annoyed. I contacted them on the day and today they sent me the invoice again, twice. I don't want the invoice again, I want to know what can be done about the damage.

I looked up in their own warranty policy, it says if the box is damaged that's 10% value off the device. original screen protector had bubbles in it so it means it must have been removed and reattached. which is another 5% value gone.

I've escalated it again via live chat and its going to be another 24-48 hours. This is BS

        • So you reckon they will refund you back 15% going by your calculations? I have raised with the team too as mine was sealed and packaged well but no official Samsung Seal….Exactly as you they said 24-48 hours for someone to get back to me….

        • asking for a full refund may be a better option. Did you pay via Paypal?

        • @kiwiinoz: Cool. let's stick together on this one! I'll press for it. I'm just not sure how many times this thing got knocked about during transit. I could be putting it down on a table one day and it might just shatter randomly.

We purchased a new device and should get a new device. They need to state on their webpage the original seal is broken. I dont see it as brand new at the moment. Fair Trading /ACCC should agree on this.

Unfortunately, I paid via coles MC and didn't go through Paypal and I didn't want paypal to be another layer when claiming.

did you get invoice with correct GST amount? the first invoice they sent had GST but it was off some strange calculation and never added up! the ones they resent this morning no longer has GST. wtf.

was yours at least bubble wrapped? sent via DHL or DPEX?

        • @rexii2300: I am in same boat…I paid with Coles MC through Paypal though so I have that option still.
My invoice has $0 as GST.
It was bubble wrapped and came through DPEX(Toll)…
You are right as per ACCC they either refund the entire order and we return our items or they offer some sort of compensation as it was false advertisement(selling a used item as new)…I am not sure which path Amaysim would prefer to take though….
Do also leave a productreview.com comment so Amaysim know we are serious about advertising their false marketing stunts….

I also dropped a message to Amaysim rep on OZB - amaysim Min K

    • +1

Yeah mine was bubble wrapped. Bit of quality assurance fail there not wrapping it. Takes 5 seconds.

  • Just received mine at work….Will not open it until I get home so I can make a video of the unpacking(just in case I need it to fight for refund from Amaysim later on)….

    • If possible post the video please

      • Will do…

        • How did you go?

        • @rexii2300: Created a vdo but it doesn't mean anything actually as the box was sealed by their own team not Samsung and they Amaysim chat advised they do it for quality control…My reply your quality control can never beat Samsung Seal…they didn't have any answer to that

  • Just got my blue S8+
Was packed in bubble wrap and sealed with an Amaysim sticker. Fired it up and it booted fine to a new phone set up. Everything appears OK. Has a UK charger, came with an adaptor as well as a note saying they couldnt get the "free USB charger in time" and that they will "send it later"……OK. no invoice however. Will need to follow that up.

Also the "about phone" in the settings states it's from United Arab Emirates. Might look at flashing it with Aussie ROM. Saw that somewhere on whirlpool.

    • Good to know your package was bubble wrapped!

  • Thanks, just bought the S8. My S4 went faulty last night (Halloween), it lasted 4 years.

  • Can some one post their invoice please. Just want to make sure if the tax invoice can be salary sacrificed.

  • Anybody not received theirs yet? :(

    • Me :(

Had some issues along the way. Amaysim didnt send the email asking me to verify the amount on my cc. So that only occurred last week. Then took a couple of days to verify so only expecting to get this next week now.

      • Weird, mine has been "in transit to destination" from HongKong since 4/11/17.

Crossing my fingers for a new phone, since it took them so long to dispatch?

        • Mine is "in transit to destination" as of today (7/11) and last event is in Hongkong.

      • what do you mean by "Amaysim didnt send the email asking me to verify the amount on my CC"? I orderered s8+ and paid via CC online, got a confirmation of order via email so now just waiting. The charge shows up as a completed transaction on my CC account. Why would a vendor such as Amaysim ask for verification of amount on CC???

        • There was an additional amount $1.xx which was also charged to the cc. There was supposed to be an email that said contact amaysim with that amount so that they could verify the purchase but unfortunately they never sent the email until a week or so after when I chased them up.

        • @Ndiddy: Ah ok. Must be something they do in certain cases.

    • Ordered on the 25th, also waiting. Mine too has said "in transit to destination" since the 4th.

Didn't have to confirm my cc - but I paid via paypal

      • unbelievable!!!

      • Also payed via paypal on 25th, which colour did you order?
I ordered a Pink 8+ hoping it would come faster than the popular colours LOL

        • Black Note 8.

Smashed my note 4 (had a good innings at least) and saw this deal come up, thought it was excellent timing. then the waiting started…

        • hmmm weird, hopefully we get it before thursday or friday!

        • @toniyellow:
          out for delivery fam!
          Good Luck!

        • @junglejgym: congrats. hope it is well bubble wrapped etc
mine is still "in transit" :(

        • @toniyellow:
bubble wrapped, plastic wrapped, got a charger with it and all the accessories.

samsung seal cut open and placed an amaysim seal on top:/ geuss i will just cop it.

not much else to say tbh

looks fine to me at the moment

        • @junglejgym: Thanks for sharing the story! Hope you enjoying the phone:)

        • @vhfyagi:
          just a phone :P

        • @toniyellow:

          My phone is now

Customs processing in Botany - AUSTRALIA

so perhaps I will get it tomorrow or Friday.

    • Ordered on 30th, live chat today (6/11) saying I should receive an email today or tomorrow for shipping. No email today. The service is really slow.

      • If i dont get it by wednesday that would be 2 weeks of waiting :@
        Goodluck!

        • All the best mate! I got the shipping email early morning today. It was dispatched yesterday (6/11) so hopefully can get it delivered this week.

    • ordered on Tuesday the 24th… cancelled today… still waiting for written confirmation!

Slow and not happy with open box

      • wow, still hadnt shipped?
        fair enough mate

  • Order mine on the 26th of October (S8+) and still no confirmation of shipping. Did a live chat today and they could not give me an answer, saying it is in the hands of the supplier and they said they asked for an update and should have an answer in 24 hours. totally not acceptable, given the handling and delivery times they list on their website.

    • Sorry to hear that mate. Are you still keen to get it from Amaysim? Cancel the order may be an easy and quickest option.

      • Just got a response Via Facebook message, they are telling me the order is still process as I had the delivery address as a PO box, would have been nice to be told this when the order was placed and not after i chased it up 3 times… Will update once they respond again.

        • So after 3 days from when i changed my address, the product was sent from Hong Kong on the 10th and received it today. The phone was not wrapped in bubble wrap and the box has a few marks from transit i am guessing. Box was sealed after being checked, phone looks fine. Will not turn it on until tonight. They included a standard travel adaptor as well as a world travel adaptor which has 4 usb ports and a few plugs for UK etc. happy I finally got the phone but the whole process was painful with me having to chase it up.

        • @BMX221: looks like they have different staff to look after different models and the dispatching standard is not in place or there is but easily ignored. Anyway finally you got it so just enjoy!

  • I also order a s8+ on 30th Oct. I got the confirmation of shipping this morning from HKG by dpex. This is after chasing them up many times, but after reading through some of the comments on ozbargain I got a bit worried and cancelled the order today. Its not worth the wait and the fact that the original packaging has been opened. I guess its like would you buy a packet of chips which has been opened, but resealed with sticky tape (even though the contents are all there)?

I am waiting for a confirmation of my cancelled order which they said to be within 24hrs (honestly with their track record, I doubt it). If I don't receive my cancellation confirmation tomorrow I'll be chasing them up again…

I paid via PayPal so hopefully if all goes south I have buyers protection.

    • Sorry to hear that. I live chatted with them twice (before I got the shipping email) and seems to be quite reasonable at least. Yes, the process is slow but in my case all milestones met on the last day of promise so I can't complain. Regarding the broken seal, I think for grey import it happens a lot, but it's not necessarily mean the phone has problem. I bought S3 from kogan back in 2013, the seal was broken upon on arrival, but the phone was alright. My company bought S6 from Android Enjoyed (god I don't want to recommend this seller) for me and it is running for more than a year now no issue at all (also broken seal upon arrival). We all take the risk of ordering grey import but hope Amaysim this time would do a proper job. The local 2 year warranty made them different from other grey imports so hopefully we made right decision.

      • Yes I agree, greystock can be very slow but I am not concerned about this. This is my first time buying a greystock phone but not my first time buying greystock. My last expensive greystock purchase was a laptop few years back, and when it arrived it was intact (original seal and everything).

I know that most people who purchase greystock do so because of their significantly cheaper price tag they carry. But personally, I can't justify the savings for an expensive phone that has already been opened :( I guess when things go smoothly, happy days. But it only takes one that goes south to start causing massive headaches.

  • Cancelled my order as well yesterday. Ordered on the 24th of Oct. Takes about 2 days for the cancellation to process and then about 3 or so business days for the refund to come through.

Will go and pick up an AU one in person on Thursday.

Edit: Should add that it still hadn't been shipped.

  • can we get an idea from the people who have actually received their order how many days it took from order to delivery? It seems from the comments a minimum of two weeks? (which makes their statement on website "ships in 2-5 days" meaningless). I ordered on the 1st and still nothing apart from confirmation of order email but willing to wait for another week I suppose.

    • "Ships in 2-5 days" should be rephrased as "dispatch in 2-5 days". In my case all they promised timeline met on the last day. If they ships in 2-5 days, I would take it as they ship it on 5th day after the day you put the order. And you will receive the shipping email on 6th day. Then a further 5-7 days for delivery. Btw I still haven't received mine 3 days after they dispatched.

    • Once my phone finally got shipped after issues with the postal address, it was shipped from Hong Kong on the 10th and received it today.

      • Shipping for yours is quick, mine was shipped on 6th and received on 10th.

        • thanks for info guys. Mine (ordered 1st) still no shipment notification. Live chat just keep saying " yep, order is in system, please be patient". must be a shortage of Black S8+ !

  • +1

Received mine late yesterday. ordered on the 25th so exactly 2 weeks. The tracking first said 'in transit' on the 4th. I actually never received an email to say the courier had it, from the tracking looks like jumped from 'customs processing' to 'scanned', and then 'onboard with driver' all in one arvo yesterday, the first I realised was when the courier called me from outside my building.

I was happy enough with the packaging. It was bubble wrapped. There was an amaysim seal over the samsung seal, but the phone was pristine, all the plastic covering screen etc untouched, works great, I'm not worried.

The customer service has been very slow and not very proactive in sending out info on the order status, so that is my biggest concern for the future, the quality of the customer service in case a warranty claim was needed.

    • From my DPEX tracking, it has been "in transit" since 7th. The last event was still in Hongkong "transit to destination". No further updates so far. It may not even land in Australia yet. If no updates tomorrow then will be exactly 2 weeks.

    • thanks for info. I'll wait then. The seal thing I suppose is them trying to avoid DOA units?

      • +1

Got mine delivered this morning. Ordered on 30th (in the night) and received on 10 Nov, so took 9 working days in total. Package was well bubble wrapped and no damage. Au adaptor, usb worldwide charger and a sim card included. Also a welcome brochure with information on 2 year warranty, how to claim warranty, etc. The brochure also says "As part of quality assurance, a technician may have opened this box to check for potential defects. We do this to ensure you receive the highest quality device available, given you total peace of mind."

I think the slow dispatching comes from waiting the usb worldwide charger, they got it in stock now so later order should be dispatched a lot quicker.

        • sounds like they are learning what to do … I bet they see these ozbargain comments about shit packaging, missing adaptors, broken seals etc and realise they need to look a little more professional ..
